Why MJ is not touring the US?

And the fact that they swing back so easy without a care back to MJ's side after being accomplices in nearly ruining his life shows the nature of the media.

But J5Master have they really swung back to MJ's side as you say?

I think so. I have seen nothing but positive articles and media in regards to MJ's T25 endeavor. Why? Because MJ's people are WORKING. And the media will be pulled to whatever seems more enticing. Thats what PR people are for...making the media work for the client. And right now, the media is working.

And the only reason the media would be accomplices in that is if it gives them $. And the fact that they swing back so easy without a care back to MJ's side after being accomplices in nearly ruining his life shows the nature of the media.

Turns out that Sneddon DIDN'T do the job did he? thats the thing. Those same citizens...who were subjected to us media for 20 years...set MJ free of that mess. So sneddon nor the media (if you wanna say that the media was in on all of it).. couldn't succeed because the PEOPLE can filter through the bs. and I have faith that MJ knows that fact.
Money is only one reason. Politics could be another. MJ has infected the rest of the world with his love and charisma like no other celebrity has ever done before. he was also sending a message of love and peace. That is not good for the people who sell weapons. Or for the governments who buy them. Their was a little matter of a famous catalogue too, and neverland might have oil and they don't want to buy it they would rather steal it. You see there could be any mumber of reasons or just plain jealousy. MJ was very powerful. Why do you think they always try to scandalise him everytime he releases an album.^_^

Actually, the jury had NO CHOICE but to set him free. They did not prove their case. They had not one iota of evidence, that is why.

Right well if their in it because its the politically correct thing to do, because of the ATV catalogue and what not...then the end result for them is that they are gonna get $ for that. So the end result is the same. Please people in order to get the dough.

I dont know about the every time he releases and album thing. I think Dangerous went on without a hitch until the allegations. History had a pretty painless release. Invincible was emerced in the Sony mess, but for the most part it was getting good press after it was released. Bad, the only scandals really was MJ coming back with white skin and a new look...and talks about chambers and elephant mans bones which was mostly due to frank dileo.

Actually, the jury had NO CHOICE but to set him free. They did not prove their case. They had not one iota of evidence, that is why.

If the jury really wanted to...they could. It was in their hands after the evidence was weighed. They could have been really slanted and just took the word of the kid and it would have been over.

EIther way that doesn't matter. If you look at the interviews of the jurors..a good majority of them didn't just say "meh. there wasn't enough evidence. couldn't convict"...these people really felt for MJ and they were FANS...like i said before. One girl, if i remember correctly, even cried when talking about the whole ordeal...cried during the verdict and all that.

I'm not sure they are on MJ's side. I will wait to see how they treat him if he puts out new material again. I can see them waiting to pounce as soon as he reemerges. That's why I hope he caters to folks who care about him

Well as long as MJ and his Pr people keep playing it careful like they are now...and keep being smart, then i think it should be fine. :)

I believe also that the media is sorta swinging back to Michael's side.. Why? Simply because that's how it goes. When Michael was pushed into a corner most of the media had to follow "the trend" certain tabloids/news were leading, because otherwise they would have been forgotten. Now when Michael is coming back to business and they have nothing negative to say, they just have to swallow their pride and admit "this dude ain't that bad after all". Just look at all the articles there were when T25 was released, most of them were just rolling their eyes and praising how an album, which is a re-release can rule the chart positions once again.

The media is more powerfull then than the government..

Yes government is powerfull in so many ways that the media is not.. But the media effects peoples mind so much more.

f it was a simple as that it would be nice... but I'm afraid it isn't
well obviously it isn't but i have to admit, MJ hasn't made some of the best pr decisions over the years (and some of thats due to the people surrounding him/advising him, and the record company having their way). But he's doing good now...so if he keeps that up then it'll help IMO.

Either way, people are gonna buy his music regardless.

Absolutely.

Well don't we all make mistakes every now and then? :) His mistakes just goes under a microscope, because he's a celebrity.

It looks like the most discussed reason for Michael not touring the US since Dangerous to History tours is that he did not feel safe in the USA mainly because of bad press and the consequences.

This goes to show that this is a popular opinion towards MJ not touring the US. We may not agree that this is the real reason why MJ did not tour the US but we can agree that it is the most popular reason.

Weather Michael was in a state of mind to decide not to tour the US because of the allegations which took effect on him in History tour. I believe that he was going to the USA during the Dangerous tour but it was cancelled and also obviously the first trial took place towards the end of the Dangerous tour when things were going the right way, but it was the biggest case in his life in 1993 which was very devastating and changed a lot of things, he wrote songs about it, he changed his life because of it, and he most probably decided not to go to the USA during his HIStory tour.

I think that the HIStory tour is the only world tour where MJ didn’t plan for the US. If he would’ve done the Invincible Tour I bet he would tour USA as a result of the success from MSG’s 30th anniversary concert. And let’s face it, time heals all wounds, so from natural prospective, MJ would’ve defiantly toured the US again. I mean he could’ve held his 30th celebration in another country if he wanted to. At MSG (USA) it was a huge success!

Well yeah I know. He's allowed to make those mistakes. And I'm not holding it against him. I'm the MAIN one preaching about not dwelling on the man's mistakes.

But i have to admit he has made some in the pr department and it has not helped the situation, but having said that I think he's done a GREAT job recently. And I'm sure it will continue.

True. And after 40 years in the business, his little pr slip ups is not bad at all. There are people who haven't been in that long and have made far worse, but the media is not interested in them cause they aren't big enough.

Arabian Knight, very well said! :flowers:

..And who knows what will happen in future! I remember one very wise guy once saying "There's more to come from Michael Jackson" ;) ^_^

yeah, but it's about the album that has been recognized already for a long time and has sold more than any other in the pop music history it's like they say " it's about the time when he was thriller"... they have no choice otherwhise they would contradict themselves... and they want to make sure it will remain the Michael's highest achievement

They could have easily ripped the whole album apart and its potental for success just like the fans did.

They could have took the fact that the fans aren't happy and ran with it.

They could have took the remixes and say that they suck lol

They could have took the fact that MJ has reissued this album before....

I mean they could've basically said anything that the fans have said about that album and ran with it. But they didn't.

yeah... what i said above

no thriller would remain MJ's highest achievement...not the reissue of the album with remixes. They could easily say "Thriller was hot, but MJ's attempt to rehash the past was BOOOOOO..." (DON'T STEAL MY IDEA MEDIA! Grr.) There are many ways to keep Thriller his highest achievement and still knock his recent efforts with T25

come on...a re-issue or a re-re-issue it's still "Thriller"
sorry, I don't believe in media
as you said it's about the past.....

and what for? it's already the best selling album of all time...

naaa not when u got Akon and Fergie on it :p

and yeah its about the past and if they really wanted to find something to criticize MJ for then they will do it. period. T25 definitely does not = thriller and if the media really wanted to, they would differentiate that.

What for? To do what they always done...separate the "old" MJ...that made Thriller and wasn't crazy, from the "new" MJ...that deserves to be slandered.

it's a re-re-re-re issue for the 25th anniversary .... it's not a new album....

I know and the simple fact that its a re re re re issue is enough for the media to go on. The media could simply say...OH! This is MJ's attempt at a comeback, there is no new album..blah blah blah. MJ's living in the past, he can't make anything new. If it was enough for the fans to go bonkers about, the media can surely find something.

you know I've been a fan for too long to even delude myself that now they will be entirely on MJ's side
I'm realistic about it....

and it is a very comfortable situation for many to claim that "he was hot a long time ago" and "Billie Jean" is his best song

again, that's how I feel
it's only my opinion on the matter

I'm not saying that they'll be entirely on MJ's side. But it'll probably better than MOST times lol...if MJ and his team play their cards right. In addition, I don't think ANY media (not just USA) will be entirely on MJ's side.

And yes exactly, its very comfortable for people to bank on that he was hot a long time ago...and NOT NOW...so why hasn't the media jumped on that like it was a twinkie or something?

why are you keep on repeating this? do you really think this is that simple?

imo things have already slipped of MJ and his PR people(whoever they are) hands
it's like a runaway train
damage has already been done.....

and I've already said why? because they don't want Michael to be so succesfull anymore... "Thriller" has already sold over 100 million copies worldwide..... it's a fact.... it's been already awarded with Grammies and so on... it's easier
that's why....

No of course it's not that simple but it'll HELP IMMENSELY if they are careful this time around. thats why i keep repeating it. I think MJ cleared out all the bad apples in his team...i think he thoroughly cleaned house, and I think he's on the right track.

And I dunno, i guess i'm more optimistic. I think after the verdict and MJ's time off...I think tides might turn. if I'm wrong I'm wrong...but I have faith in the future.

If they don't want MJ to be so successful anymore then why let current MJ take the credit for the success of this reissue? The media usually doesn't give MJ credit for anything. So why not take a shot when it's so readily available to them? Who cares if it's Thriller...this is today's MJ reissuing a 25 year old album with remixes right after the big trial scandal. Like i said, if the media REALLY wanted to....they could....

But no, instead they promptly, multiple times...reported on the fact that the album was number 2 in the country despite the Billboard fiasco. Why not just let the album have its success instead of helping it along? It can still be MJ's greatest achievement without the 324th reissue being the second best album in the country....even AFTER a malicious image-scarring trial.
