Why MJ is not touring the US?

He didn’t live in Dubai, he lived in Bahrain which is another gulf country, after Bahrain he came to Dubai and stayed in Burj Al Arab, he didn’t stay for long, he likes it in Dubai that’s why he decided to buy a property here.
 
US Dates for the Dangerous tour were cancelled because of the allegations. But for the HIStory tour, MJ didn't even consider doing concerts in the US. When asked prior to the tour in an interview (the 1995 online chat, I think) he said that he wasn't sure he ever wanted to tour the US again. You don't say that if you're an international pop star. The US IS an important market and by deliberatly avoiding to perform there, MJ isn't doing himself any favors. Plus, he's not showing appreciation to his American fanbase.
 
The thing why Michael "dislikes" US has nothing to do with the fans, US fans are as much appreaciated and loved as the rest of the world's fans. In my opinion it's the strong US media and bad people, who are constantly trying to put Michael down, that made him to move away and say he's not sure if he wants to tour in US again. For example if I say 90% of things that are written on tabloids here in Europe are originally from US tabloids I don't think Im that far from the truth. If I would be in Michael's shoes, living here in Finland and the media would be doing the same to me as they're doing to him, heck yes I'd move away.

I am sure the fans have nothing to do with MJ’s decision not to tour, it is very obvious that artists rely on their fans to sell their records and there is no way he wants them to be upset especially that he likes to entertain and perform in front of them and enjoys the reactions and feedback. It is something very natural to avoid the place where you feel unsafe, because he was invaded in a bad way and helicopters fly over his Neverland ranch spying on him, looking for anything that could make a story and sell it to the dirty tabloids. For example, if you travel to a certain place and went through a bad experience I think you won’t consider visiting the same place again. Even though MJ must be a loyal US citizen he have been attacked by too many people who they were trying very hard to destroy him. However I donno if that is the main reason why he avoided to tour the US for a very long time since the BAD tour!
 
I don't think MJ will ever tour in the U.S. (or anywhere else for that matter) again. I do hope however that he does a few shows here like he did back in 2001 when he performed at MSG.

well..let's face it...although msg was unusual for him...the usa media has been terrible for the most part. and for the most part you are on point about this country. i am a usa citizen but i am objective on this topic. i can understand why MJ isn't big on this country, possibly because of the media, the bullet proof vest moments..the trial, neverland,..etc. but honestly, MJ doesn't need the usa....the whole world loves him..and the usa fans are included..and i'm sure they understand, after all the trauma he has been through here...and he knows the fans are not to blame, which is why he did msg for the fans only and not the media....but MJ is in good shape, and doesn't need the usa. however..who knows what the future holds.

Lets not start the hateration on america...PLEASE. That really irks me. There are bad, greedy, azzholes all over the world...and it isn't AMERICA that has treated him poorly. It was a few bad apples and a MASS MEDIA (not just USA) that love to repeat things that they hear.

In addition, MJ is spending most of his time in the USA right now. So it's not like he "not big" on the country because SOME people who slander him happened to be from the USA. That's just really flawed logic.

To be very honest with you, the most wonderful and generous people I’ve ever met are mostly form the USA, and to prove this you can see that even MJ was viciously attacked in his own country still there are many US fans holding very firm and being very loyal to him even despite the bombardment by the US media.

Yes he's made criticisms about the country. I'm from the USA and I talk about the injustices in this country ALL THE TIME. We are flawed. There isn't one judicial system anywhere in the world that is without fault and criticism. Does that mean i don't love the country or enjoy it here? NO.

I think it is because his home is in the US where he was attacked and went to trial, all the trouble happened in the US by the minorities, most Americans are wonderful.

yes..and as i said..i never mentioned the usa fans as part of the problem. i said that the usa fans love him just as much as any fans around the world. i had said that he acknowledged them in msg.

and, i'm objective enough to pick out exceptions in the media, such as ryan seacrest. and, for now..things are coming around, with american idol, and the dance crew show..but u must admit, that's because of a fans outcry in the usa...the media had no choice but to follow. things may be coming around now...i was just talking about how the past was in recent years.

No one is starting the hateration on America. That's not the purpose of this thread. And you're right there are jerks all over the world, but in my opinion the US media is just very strong and influences everywhere.

Me too I also believe the media is very huge in the USA where the biggest entertainment industry in the world, you have many TV networks which are very actively reporting stories (such as E channel) of celebrities and they make a lot of money from those stories.

Why would he have animosity towards a country, where he KNOWS the media is malicious...but he also knows that the media doesn't reflect the truth? Simply put I think MJ KNOWS that you can't pick out a piece and attribute it to the whole.

So there's no reason to believe, for example, that MSG was a "favor" to "american fans" in order to just...push America over to the side as far as his performing agenda/priorities are concerned.

Why you think he did not perform in the US since his Bad would tour? Do you think he will go on touring the US again if he decides to tour? What are your thoughts?

well..first of all, i'm talking about the recent past...not what may happen in the future. second of all...it's not beyond reason to be cautious in a place where he had to wear a bullet proof vest, during court proceedings...third of all...like i said..he wrote a lyric about america in tdcau, as i mentioned in an earlier post. there is every reason to believe he would at least be cautious. and he HAS stated that he is doing things for the fans..and not the media in america. and i never stated it as if he's doing anyone a 'favor'. i stated it as if he loves his fans in america and abroad. plus...with what happened at the grammys..i have every right to think twice about american media at times...
 
Well like it was already mentioned Dangerous, he did have a USA leg that was canceled.

There have already been very good reasons stated for the History tour.

And when u think about it...it's not like he tours every year or something and never performed in the USA. He's had only ONE since the allegations. So that's not really a strong claim...that MJ didn't perform in the usa for that one tour...to say that MJ doesn't wanna perform/like to perform...in the USA.
 
Michael will never TOUR again..

He could/would do a set of performances in selected areas.. But not a major world tour..

He would perform in the U.S. He did 30th Anniversary here..

I don't blame Michael for being hesitant to perform durring tours here in the U.S. No it's not because of fans.. it's simply put, his sucess as years go by has slowly strayed from the U.S. (because of what U.S. media has done) and gone over seas.. It's not his fault, it's not mine our yours.. It's just the result of the medias attack..

And like i said, before...MJ didn't wear a bullet proof vest because it was AMerica and America hates him....he wore it cuz he was a HIGH PROFILE celebrity who was going through a very serious scandal with which...emotions are high and people do crazy things. And if the trial was held in Britain MJ probably would have worn a vest there too.

And like i said before, as far as TDCAU, millions and millions of people, minorities and non-minorities criticize the country A LOT. That does NOT mean that they have animosity towards the country as a whole.
