I feel the same way. I will listen to those first and then compare them with MJ's version.

Agreed.

At the risk of sounding negative, fandom has kept hype going for this cd, not the actual promotions.

The fan focus group is a great example. I appreciate the uniqueness of the opportunity however; the discussion of it is strictly within the fan community. In addition, I did not read a diverse mix of views in those reviews as I did with the media reviews from the listening parties weeks ago.

It seems promotion will start anew a week before the cd release. I can only hope for the best outcome as nothing can change that.

Question to Qbee please: were any reservations expressed about the single being release a week before the cd? Thank you for your review and I hope you enjoyed this unique experience. By the way, Navi is an impersonator and I wondered if he out-danced the other attendees? laughs


Adding to my post after reviewing other posts…

Please note: it is not a question of an artist being “worthy” of working with Michael on these posthumous releases. No one is working with Michael. The producers chosen are deciding who they want to work with to produce a remix of a song including Michael’s vocals and in some cases, Michael’s lyrics and melody. Just a reminder: Michael was a fan of Missy Elliot and she worked heavily with Timbaland.

I believe the original/demo versions might be stripped to Michael’s vocals and basic instrumentation so the leaked versions may remain online where they were leaked. To place Jerkins' original production of Xscape with the prisoners’ and prison guards’ interlude next to his contemporized version may cause the listener to question why the original/demo version was not used when it was perfectly fine the way it was. I do not believe Estate/Sony will risk a rogue DJ playing an original/demo heavily over a contemporized version.

I believe I may have confirmation Michael’s vocals will appear slowed down and/or deepened on LNFSG because the listening party reviews stated Michael’s vocals were only naïve sounding on Lovin’ You.

Questlove really IS a great fan of MJ's...I would say so! :)

A quite fun, (if not a little long), read. It was a great "brush up" on Michael's lifelong career (well, actually, up to around Thriller...Questlove ran out of steam at that point pretty much. lol).

I agree I just love his rock tracks and I don't like rock in general, but his has this r&b feel to them, like how he did Come Together that is amazing.

What I heard about Loving You, is there are soft parts which are the verses and then high Dirty Diana vocals in the chorus. We will see.

Rocker and Bang Your Head are not a finished tracks .
there is a rock track that called D.I.E = dance is entertainment

she was lovin' me is the song on the album. They just changed the name to Chicago..
There's a song from 1986 That his name is Chicago 1945 People get confused But it's not the same song

I've only heard one version of "All I Need", and I'm pretty sure it's not Michael's voice on the track.

But the other tracks are great, so that's encouraging.

you've waited years and even longer when MJ was here for an album to drop, Let's not sweat a few more weeks. Be patient and enjoy the anticipation . Then you will be pleasantly surprised when it all unfolds. We are not suppose to know when and all the details. It suppose to be a surprise. Something to look forward to. :)

:) Cool. Thanks for that link! I was not aware that they produced many of those familiar songs (especially that Rihanna song "Don't Stop The Music" that featured MJ). The beats sound fresh, even if those songs came from years past.

some of U guys are acting like a heartbroken woman (due to the michael album) that is afraid to love again because of the pain caused by an ex (again, the michael album as an example). she finally finds love again (bad 25, who is a great guy) but she has to look for all of his flaws, thus is unhappy. they break up, and now she is once again apprehensive about the next relationship because of past mishaps, caused by OTHER men. And she will never be happy if she keeps that attitude......

I for one am extremely excited to hear new MJ music. I am so happy that they are releasing updates along with the originals. It is the perfect way to please EVERYONE. I am a 2pac fan, and we in the 2pac community have been waiting almost 20 years for his estate to do a release like Xscape. U guys should really rejoice, we are being majorly spoiled here!

Rihanna actually asked Michael for permission, to use the WBSS sample, which is played during the song.

D.I.E. doesn't mean "Dance is Entertainment". I don't know exactly what it stands for, but I am well aware that it isn't that.

XSCAPE NEW SINGLE! The new Michael Jackson' single will be premiered in radio in Italy (but probably worldwide) next May 5. At the same time the official video of the new single will be released.
