Does anyone know for sure which single is going to be released first? And as a subsidiary question, don't you find it disturbing that if Big Bang hadn't taken place we would have never been here expecting a new album from our favorite artist?

Im intrested in hearing the updated versions but there will never be the excitement or intrest because at the end of the day its not mjs work. i guess its like hearing a remix of a mj song. You wanna hear it cause its something different but its not something you will have at the top of your cd collection.

big fans of MJB and Dangelo. they were immense back in the mid 90's.MJB along with lauren hill were my dream mj duets and i loved D's brown sugar material.so looking forward to hearing that

According to my reliable sources, the first single might be Chicago, if Love Felt Never So Good doesn't get released before it under the condition that before LFNSG Slave To The Rhythm Isn't released. This is of course valid if and only if the first single is not Blue Gangsta, DYKWYCA or Xscape. Case closed.

That was planned to be the first single if the others, above mentioned ones, don't get released as the first ones.

I can't believe the first single is released in May. - 5th or 6th of May seems to be the dates the single will be released. - I think it would be better if the first single was released as soon as possible!!

I think 2 singles should be released before the album - and then another 3-4 singles to kkep promoting the album after it is released!!

A dream case scenario would be if ALL 8 songs were released as singles!!! - Iagine that!! Would be great!!

Bumper Snippet - that stupid "loading" picture!!! I though my PC was slow or had some kind of problem with the internet!! - But as said - I killed some minutes that I now have to wait less!!! :lol: :lol:

She was lovin' Me (how it's really called) would be a wonderful choice for a single release, I just think it should be released after the album if I'm honest.. Especially as its the song most of us are looking forward to over anything else (along with Lovin' You & Hot Fun of course).

We had news this week. As per the fan focus group, a tweet from one of the attendees, and Shields, we know the first single is LNFSG and it will be released May 5th or 6th with an accompanying video that will be on the deluxe dvd.

I asked Qbee in a previous post if there were any reservations/concerns expressed about that but, it could be she cannot reveal those discussions or there were no reservations/concerns about it from those attendees.

This is not entirely on topic, but it was announced today and IMO it is definitely relevant to certain issues some people seem to have with this album and Sony's involvement (mouse-over for the link):

Prince And Warner Brothers Are Officially Friends Again, 30th Anniversary Reissue Of ‘Purple Rain’ In The Works

It's an important example of a conflict, not unlike MJ's battle with Sony in the early 2000's, that has now been resolved and turned into a new, mutually beneficial business arrangement between an artist and his record label. Times changes, people change, and a solution has been found for situation that might have seemed unresolvable 20 years ago.

They said that they are planning to release just 3 singles.

3 singles.
1st - LNFSG
2nd - STTR
3rd - Xscape

They'd possibly be good choices, singles don't really bother me because we'll have the album but I hope they make good choices for the singles

Solutions exist, but the most important fact remains: artists are used by the music industry to the core. Everything always comes down to multimillion dollar contracts, and there are always sharks swimming around such amounts of money. Glad Prince found back confidence in his record label. On a side note, isn't it sad how for decades (since he has had problems with his record label) Prince has been underestimated and nowhere to be seen in the music industry. As if he wasn't good enough...
