I think it would be pretty interesting if the estate left the album untitled. Like simply put a photo of Michael on the cover and only promote it as the "new Michael Jackson album".

But I only care for the full forced solo Michael Jackson. (Off the Wall - Invincible) which is why I take no reference to early Jacksons stuff

But then on iTunes + Amazon + every website that lists it for sale would call it "Untitled - Michael Jackson". They can't call it "The new Michael Jackson album - Michael Jackson" either. What happens when we get another posthumous album in a few years time, it's no longer the 'new' Michael Jackson album now is it ? :p

As far as titles of the album, I think we could come up with a more practical title once song titles are released. By that time a title would probably be announced anyways!! But for the fun of it, If the One word titles that I like are out of the question I would not mind a title like KING or even MJ .. I would prefer a single word song name as the title though, I find it very traditional for Michael and I would guess that is what he would do if he were to release an album.

All in all, to me it is more so about the music, I want new MJ music to listen to, and for it to have radio success, title of the album just something that flows and sounds powerful!

Unairbrushed blue eye photo, 'MICHAEL JACKSON: BLUE GANGSTA' the unedited photo from the 1999 photo sessions. this photo was planned to be the cover of 'Invincible' but was later changed. something similar to this? but with no airbrush effect? i think that'd be appropriate.. http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/1030/200000u.jpg (and it ain't because my favourite colour is blue, just to put that out there)

^ I like the concept!! Its not very "gangsta" but thats a great photoshoot to pick from because not many people have seen those photos and you can tell these pics were intended for a cover.

michhael wrote them on his photo's, i have 175 photo's from those sessions. it's very interesting why he did it, but he wanted to even out his jaw/chin area..

Do you have some ones that aren't airbrushed? I'm sure it didn't look that bad before. And that's a lot of photos lol.

Thanks! It really doesn't look that bad, all they really did was take away the dip in his jaw at the sides. Wonder why he wasn't happy with it..

i don't think he wanted his fans to think he looked frail.. just like in that story from this is it where he said to a fan ''i'm sorry you have to see me like this'' it's heartbreaking :(

I thought that photo shoot was originally intended for Invincible, and that Michael and/or Sony didn't end up liking the end result so it was canned. Is that what actually happened ? If it is, I don't see it being reused... :bored:

Wouldn't it be cool if like, Michael had done a secret photoshoot to help him think of ideas or something for his next album's artwork, and Sony still had access to the photos and they turned out to be reaaalllly cool ? :D I don't think that happened but it'd be pretty cool if it did hehe

^^ Yes, MJ did not like those photos so they should not be used on posthumus releases.
 
IMO the project in the whole will be not something that Michael can control or guide … so with this logic there must not be any posthumous releases.

We do not know why Michael didn’t like these photos, maybe he did like them but wanted something different for Invincible. If so then why to forget about them as if they are “useless”?

I’d say this IF these photos will go well along with an album and its idea, then they can use them.

Why go into a controversial direction once again when they could use less controversial photos? I mean they are controversial because MJ apparently did not like them so many fans could feel it's disrespectful to use exactly these photos. And I personally don't think they are great photos either.There are lot better out there - like the ones from the Bruce Weber session.

Yeah, I'm not really a big fan of that photoshoot either. In all honesty, I think some of the photos, like this one, are terrible. He looks way too feminine as well... I would probably mistake him for a girl if I was unfamiliar with who he is/what he looked like.

If they're going to use photos from a photoshoot, they have many better sessions they can pick from. Hell, they have photos of MJ sitting on a throne (that photoshoot session with Prince from the late 90s ?), they could do something similar to that remix suite, cut out the photo of MJ chilling on the throne, place it against a new, less busy background and that could make for a cool artwork ! Plus MJ on the throne - imagine all the billboards and posters that would feature Michael chilling on the throne :D

^ Not only that photo is too feminine but it's photoshopped to the extent you can hardly recognize it's Michael. I don't like it either.

I agree and Bruce Weber session is really great one!

But sometimes I think controversial exception is really uncalled for. It is only photos that Michael didn’t use … not some photos he forbid to show or something like that. I’m not saying that this session is the best or good enough option to use for the cover but it is something to think over. If something can be done or redone or if there’re some photos from this session we haven’t seen, I don’t mind them to be in the work too.

I just hope that people who are working on the album are doing their best and won’t put away great ideas just because they can be criticized …

all in all, how do we know what MJ felt about the pics? don't all we know is that he went a different direction for Invincible cover? That being said, it was a great photoshoot, I too think too photoshoped but they could do a couple things..

1. get the original pics and fix them up the right amount, prior to the "over photoshop"
2. they could turn any one of these pics into a graphic art.. like they did with the eyes on Dangerous or Michael album.. No one would know what was photoshoped when its changed into that form of picture.

I think they could take a photo from that photoshoot or from the collection of pics taken from this photoshoot and get the actual stills (un cut into pieces) bring color into it. There are several pics to pick from.

these photo's were originally in colour, their's a sample that i saw posted on twitter sometime ago. and i have all the photo's from this sessions in black & white from michaelpictures.net and i agree, it'd be a great cover with some kind of artistic effect going on in the background

God there are soooo many pics to pick from, I am just going through pics and I could turn this page into a pic thread.. But another way they can go about this, his children I am sure have several pics of there dad that is super special that they could put as the cover, and that way they will always know they participated on picking the cover for one of there dads albums..

PR wise it would get the album cover more attention too!

God that "Blue Eye" photoshoot is crap. 2007's shoots were the best of any 2000's shoot for me. Now THAT was a Michael Jackson that looked boss and ready to rule the world once more.

Those Blue eye photos are lifeless. His his eyes are dead no sparkle or life in his eyes and he looks like a lifeless Mannequin in all of them. :( I have always disliked those photos. Not only did Michael dislike the photos, the whole photo shoot experience was unpleasant for him. He even had the photographer sign a waiver not to release them for 10 years. That is why we didn't even see them until after he passed.

i agree, he looks wonderful in this photo. i think it is common sense to go in the direction of this photo shoot though of course
