I'm allowing myself to get excited beforehand because many people have given us lots of reasons to be sad, angry, disapointed and outraged this year. We needed to hear good news at last. I already had enough of being depressed and hopeless. Besides, Demien has shown so faar he posts reliable news.

Re-reading Damien's article, I'm beginning to question some things.

Firstly, to clarify, Damien doesn't know what songs are being considered for the album. All the tracks he listed/described are simply those that he wants to be considered. I of course respect his opinion, although I feel that his wording might throw some readers off. The only songs that are set in stone to be released are A Place with No Name and Blue Gangsta (as Freeze [apparently] reaffirmed to Damien for the article). Anything else is, as he put it, up in the air.

In the article, Dr. Freeze seemed quite uneasy with his answers. He said, and I quote, "It seems to be coming out in the spring of 2014." The key word here is seems. He really doesn't know, nor does he know what producers have signed on to work on other songs. I'm not faulting Freeze here; I'm simply saying that fans shouldn't take his word as law. At the moment he is only sharing what he knows.

Don't get me wrong, I'm just as excited for this as any of you. I'm simply going to try and control myself until I read an official press release from Sony/the estate.

In the meanwhile, we should all stop making dream track listings. It's a nice feat, but it builds you up for the album to mirror your ideas down to the tiniest detail, only leading to disappointment when your favorite leaked track/most intriguing song title isn't included.

I agree. The only thing I believe so far is. Tim said he was working in MJ unreleased songs. He also stated it would be done this year. Thats what I'm going with unless Tim or the estate say different. Always speculation and rumors with MJ releases.

You know what?! What does it matter what we wish for maybe if the estate are actively watching this thread they might get some idea what type of album to make? Or maybe its just as i said the feel good factor of hearing michaels ureleased gems!:

I say either way its good to have an idea that new projects are forthcoming and a little comforting to us all instead of all the negative stuff. Good on you Damien. Plus i wish people would stop over analysing everything. I know where all anxious buts lets bath in the anticipation and now the wait. Just like how Michael liked to keep us waiting lol .

I just hope that we get some word for some release say The Michael/Mercury duets! Or even single from new project! or better still both!

off course i want to get proved wrong. sure. i dont have a problem if they release what they always claim to release.
but this post was based on the fact that they always diappointed the fans in the past. so i pointed it out at the right moment. :) and that is not spreating negative energy.

I'm going to remain positive until something different to what Freeze has said is written in The Estate's press release. even then, if we hear something completely different.. we can't judge on how the final product will at all sound. So, until I hear a preview or receive my CD through the post, I'll keep slim hopes alive. I was beyond excited when that interview came through, I wasn't expecting it at all!!

Dr Freeze saying "It seems to be coming out Spring of 2014" Is better than not hearing anything in my opinon.. That at least gives us something to aim for.. We don't know how he came to that conclusion, but if he can say it "seems to be" that means that there is something there that he is getting that from.

It could be as simple as the stage they are in, meaning legally if a song is going to be released certain things are signed X amount of time on average to release of an album.. It could be that... Or anything!! When I first read it I did not take it as a FOR SURE date frame. I don't think he intended it to be, nor did Damien, and I (am others) not take it that way..

I more so took it as "Ok we got some waiting time here, don't hope for a Nov. or Dec. release too much and maybe Q1/Q2 we will get something.."

That at least gives me something to hold onto for now, until things are confirmed

what could really work would be an april release, announce it around Christmas time and release a single (for example chicago) in january/february, let anticipation build and give the details to tv programmes (like they did for bad25 on daybreak) give them a little snippet or something like that, don't let this product promote itself. it sounds wonderful, and i'd hate for it to only sell 500,000 like B25!!

^ With that I think a good time for the first single would be great to have it released after some type of promo for MJ's album at the 2014 Grammy Awards in Jan... 2014 Grammys are in Jan AT the Staple Center!! I think that is a perfect opportunity to promote it, maybe have a video dedication to Michael showing highlights of his career and ending with the album info (While playing a clip of first single) and release the single that same day or days after..

This now gives three verifications of no more Cascio tracks to different fans. Fantastic news.

Why are they even touching Blue Gangsta? Sounds finished to me, it's perfect as it is.

^ They probably don't think it would get much radio play as is.. There is a specific sound that has been getting more attention lately.. STTR has more of that sound.. We will see, maybe they wont change it too much

At least three confirmations that no Cascio tracks will appear on the next album.

Two suggestions that the album will drop in spring 2014.

One suggestion that both original + updated versions of tracks will feature.

Confirmation that A Place with No Name and Blue Gangsta will appear.

Assistance from Brad Buxer, Michael Prince and Timbaland.


Okay. Now I'm excited.

Edit: Those are old words from Freeze about APWNN and BG coming out. No confirmation. However, it is likely they will appear.

and that this the problem today. to us the tracks sounds great and finished. but for them they have to change them to sound like this bad stuff thats out there today.:smilerolleyes:

now that we've been given more information on the new album, when do you guys think we'll get some kind of announcement? in that tweet by Richard -> pentum, he mentions that they're already working in the studio, or soon to begin. So I believe that Timbaland, when he said "i'll have it done for this year" was referring to his work, and if it is two disc (his disc). I think we'll hear some sort of announcement around The winter month's of December to late January, with a single release in February. 'She Was Lovin' Me' single around Valentines? be a great release. Then the album in April? jut my thought's and wishes, but I'm not gonna let myself be disappointed.

Yup, from an MJFrance interview back in January 2011. But Freeze did talk to Damien Shields, and the way Damien worded his article made it seem like Freeze again mentioned that those two songs would be coming out. I may be misinterpreting it of course, but anything's possible.

Lol! Me too. But at first I read your post without the "no". I was like, "What?!" :busted: :bugeyed

Yeah, but I'm excited as well. Any time we can get something different and new
from MJ's vast catalog, it's a beautiful thing.
The crew that is on board this project and the tentative ones, seems like it will work.
