All nine songs leaked on the internet. You can listen to them if you want every day. It's not shame they won't be released.

The Estate has never « announced the other Cascio tracks would never be released ». John Branca telling our very own StellaJackson at a Bad25 promo party that the other songs wouldn’t come out doesn’t amount to an official announcement nor a business plan. Branca probably realized he wouldn’t make it out alive of that conversation if he’d said the opposite…

The Estate/Sony will release everything they have and that they think they can make money from. Business decisions are not made based on verbal promises to anonymous fans.

As for Dr. Freeze’s comments, he himself says he’s not involved in the album. So does he know for sure about the possible release date and old/new versions format, or is it just an educated guess? Let’s not forget that, in the months before the release of the Michael album, many artists said their material would be on the album, and in the end it wasn’t.

The idea of including both old and new versions is great for fans, but it’s something that record companies rarely choose to do, for two reasons. One is that it’s better to release the new versions first, and get everyone to (grudgingly) buy them, and then, 10 years later, release the original versions, and get everyone to buy the same songs twice. The other reason is that you’re inviting direct comparisons between the originals and the remixes, which doesn’t always end well for the remixes. In which cas egos are bruised, and the investment is seen as wasted.

I never said they "announced the other Cascio tracks would never be released". I just based my comment on what Damien Shields article said.

The Estate/Sony will release everything they have and that they think they can make money from.

There is not one sane people in the world who would buy those songs. So they won't make any money by releasing them. They know that.

There is not one sane people in the world who would buy those songs. So they won't make any money by releasing them. They know that.

they only released them i think because they were few of the song's they had from Michael's last 2 years. but yes, they're much too contraversial. the will.i.am, red one, neff-u (Theron Feemster) tracks should be handed over and released.

yes, a deluxe edition. many artists do that these days, although i'm one of those people who will buy every aspect of this project for sure. can't wait for both versions

They released them because they were in a rush, they didn't know better and they trusted Cascios because they thought they were his friends so they didn't do a research, background check or anything. They messed up and they know it.

Fans like Damien give their time and effort to interview producers and the like in order to give fans info on the new album, for no monetry gain whatsoever, and all you do is make sarcastic comments about them. I know you are obsessed with the Cascio tracks but can't you keep it to the right thread? There is no official statement because they would never state that officially, for obvious reasons. They aren't going to kick that hornets nest. It has been confirmed to fans, several times now, straight from the top, that they will not be using those songs on the next album. End of.

Damien's articles are brilliant but I understand what are you trying to say. I'm scared to death that that may be false information or Branca's empty words. But again the Estate and Sony are not THAT stupid. They made that mistake once. Also they didn't know the songs were fake back then. That's the difference.

Will.iam needs to drop this idea!! Now I understand and respect his view on it but at the same time Michael understood the music business and I really believe if he had an artist he held music and past away, he would release that persons music because he understands the demand goes up... Especially the finished work!!

apologies guys for posting twice but i wanted to post this first here! and i got into timberland post.

Fantastic news if this is on the money! But what i want more than anything you have all said is the release of Men in Black, From the bottom of my heart!, The Katrina song! ( Carnt remember for life of me now what its called!) Vibrationist, some of the amazing songs he wrote but chose to leave off Vince! Bottle of smoke, etc etc!

I really want to hear Im still king , and future etc with Willi am .

Looking forward to hearing the finished Queen project, Freddies/Michaels vocals with amazing queen instrumententation and back vocals will be awesome and could lead away for a xmas campaign.

What also could kick X factor in the **ts! is the Xmas song Michael had recorded sometime in the summer where he actually got snow brought in etc to get the feeling!

I just want some amazing tunes but welcome the new work and life put into the titles already disclosed. I just want to hear Michaels vocals again and possibly see some great promotion and never before seen footage or some great video ideas. I Still think an animated Michael would be fantastic and get the Disney Pixar or Disney to do the graphics! Maybe even make a Michael film ! This i am sure would be amazing and using the new songs etc would tell the story of the animated Michael world as if he was still here.

I'll just have to say appose to those who are nit picking at what is right/wrong in what you say or do I just gotta say that I really appreciate your work. From someone at one point that was heavily into getting the news instead of waiting for it. I too got some flack at times, but I understand that energy and time it takes to do what you've been doing and I (along with several other fans) appreciate what you put into this..

I don't think "I'm Still The King" exists. Will.i.am said Mj had written a song of that name but he never stated that he had recorded it as far as I am aware. In fact, I think Will.i.am has very little of anything recorded with Michael.

I remember seeing (or reading) an interview with Will where he said they worked on the song called "I'm Still The King". He never said that Michael recorded his vocals but he never said he didn't either. He said that they planned to have all artists that Michael influenced on the song. He named Justin Timberlake, Usher, Chris Brown and Omarion. But they never finished the song meaning all these artists never recorded their parts. But that doesn't mean that Michael didn't record his part. And if he did the song could be completed easily because all these other artists are alive.

I can't help but recall what David Michael Frank said about the two album's that Michael was working on shortly before he died:

He told me, ‘I have three projects going on simultaneously.’ One was the tour that the whole world knew about. The other two I believe no one knew about. One was to be an album of pop songs. Then he said, ‘The other one is that I want to record an album of classical music’ — what he called classical music.

So it sounds like the pop song album may have been complete. I know there were rumors about the pop album before Michael died and that it was to be released during the "This Is It" Shows over in the UK, so, maybe, just maybe, we will have better material, especially with the material coming from the Cascio's seemed to take precedent over all else for the "Michael" album!

I stand by my criticism of Damien Shield's blog posts.I thank him for obtaining those quotes from the producers, but he buries then under so much interpretation, speculation and wishful thinking that the actual facts, which are few to begin with, get obscured even more.

Here is how I would have writen the blog post : « I sent an email to Dr. Freeze, and he was kind enough to answer me! Here it is below, cut and pasted from the original correspondence, with his authorization ».

When I got to talk to the sound engineer who worked on some tracks-that-shall-remain-nameless, I posted the entire correspondence here, and didn’t try to rework it into some sort of large « newspaper » article.

What precise questions did he ask him? In what context? Are those quotes from written correspondence, or an oral recollection of a meeting at some event? Without such detail, how are we suppose to draw any conclusions?

It has been confirmed to fans, several times now, straight from the top, that they will not be using those songs on the next album. End of.

Please bring up that information, with precise details, including context and what was precisely said, to the appropriate thread on this forum so we can discuss it.

Also "not on the next album" is not the same thing as "never".

But no more talk about this here.

I thought the exact same. It's also full of old information and twitter posts clumsily thrown in to pad it all out.

I'm not gonna criticise the lad though, glad of the new info.

it would not surprise me when all these people, that now gets hysterical, will get mad when the final product is released and its another disaster.
i will wait until its released. and when i like what i see and hear, then i get hysterical. not before, cause i dont trust them anymore.

That is entirely your perogative and i am sure that hopefully you will be proved wrong on this occasion, but please dont dampen this amazing thread now after all the rubbish that has been going round lately. I just hope that we get some word for some release say The Michael/Mercury duets! Or even single from new project! or better still both!

Lets all bask in this great feel good factor with have for now.

Michael is the only artist that makes my brain stop and really listen when I hear his voice. I like other singers and songs and I buy their music but I get bored of their voice sooner or later. I never get bored of Michaels voice, It stops me in my tracks and I cant concentrate on anything else when he sings! Whatever format the new album takes, it's going to be Michaels voice we are hearing, singing songs that are new to us (hopefully mostly new!) and I am so excited I cant stand it! xx
