WEDNESDAY BOX OFFICE 1.Michael Jackson's This Is It[/b]$2,114,2482.Paranormal Activity[/b]$903,3053.Law Abiding Citizen[/b]$733,295

This brings the total box office gross of the film in the US so far to $41.7 million. Looks like the film will definitely cross $50 million this weekend and if we are lucky maybe it will be close to reaching the $60 million mark :).

Re: TII Box Office News (Merged) Grossed $105 Million thus far (UPDATE)

looking at the BO charts, World Series definitely kept ppl at home last night. Every movie on the chart declined over Tuesday.

Re: TII Box Office News (Merged) Grossed $105 Million thus far (UPDATE)

I think This Is It will do another $2 million Thursday bringing US totals to $43.6 million going into the weekend. I am expecting about $10-12 million in business this weekend, bringing totals to $53.6-55.6 million by Sunday night. In that case it would only be 10-12 million away from beating the Miley Cyrus film. That would be fantastic if true. It's a very realistic outlook. That gives it another three weekends in theaters, and it would most certainly overtake Cyrus' #1 position.

Re: TII Box Office News (Merged) Grossed $105 Million thus far (UPDATE)

I just saw a short commercial for TII.

They quote Roger Eibert (4 stars) & the Rolling Stones (Unforgettable) reviews. Cool.

Re: TII Box Office News (Merged) Grossed $105 Million thus far (UPDATE)

I think TII will do between $15-$20 million this weekend ! and maybe more.

10-12 mil is I think a modestly realistic calculation for the weekend. I too expect it to near 60 mil by the end of it. Don't know how the new movies opening tonight -and especially the one with Carey (anyone seen reviews it's getting?)- will be doing.. But I think it will have done impressively well by the end of its second weekend, with still along along way to go till thanksgiving -so further prospects are good.
And that's the important thing. Not the Miley Cyrus parallelism -let's leave it aside..

we got burned last weekend with the expectation game....With 4 new movies out today, I do not think anything over 12M is reasonable.

10 - 12 mill this weekend is good. The Disney Christmas movie has been released too soon!!

Re: TII Box Office News (Merged) Grossed $105 Million thus far (UPDATE)

Does anyone have the link to that T.V. review spot of the movie? I would love to see the glowing praise it got from critics in a commercial!

+ 1 !

on which channel was it broadcast ?

Re: TII Box Office News (Merged) Grossed $105 Million thus far (UPDATE)

Anything over 10 mil is excellent. It will bring the movie at around 55 mil gross, less than two weeks since its release.
And I doubt Christmass Carol will do 40 mil. Isn't it too early..?

Re: TII Box Office News (Merged) Grossed $105 Million thus far (UPDATE)

I think Christmas Carol will do 30 mil.. gosh it's not even Xmas yet
and the movie cost about $175 million to produce my God.. didnt know animation movie can cost that much

Re: TII Box Office News (Merged) Grossed $105 Million thus far (UPDATE)

Yeah, I think 'The Christmas Carol' will be a popular movie because it's a children's movie. But I really doubt it will do that much. However, it is only an IMAX movie with 3D so IMAX tickets are more expensive than regular ticket prices. So that is something to consider.

I just don't know how many people would want to watch a Christmas movie before Thanksgiving! LOL!
