THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds

It sounds new because the music is new only a few days old.

So you think this is the 2009 Orchestral Version? I was under the impression - okay, assumption - this was the original version? Doesn't sound very '2009' to me, but I could be mistaken.

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

I hate to complain and I usually roll my eyes at others who complain...lol....but uhm, I understand there's an old and a new version of This is it.....

Why are we hearing the old one and not the new one? Wouldn't the new version fit the situation, the movie, everything? I'm confused, can someone help me out?

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

It does sound like Triumph Mike.

I´ve heard it like 30 times now and I think this will be a huge hit! Amazing vocal performance.
I disagree, he didn't sing like that then and it doesn't sound like a circa 79-80 Jackson arrangement. The sound quality doesn't sound like something from that period. This is obviously the solo version, not The Jacksons version.

Am I the only person who has never heard of Safire or their version of this song??

EDIT: And I agree that it DOES sound like a more youthful Mike... we may get a surprise with the 2009 re-working though? *Maybe*

I heard of her. She was one of those mid-late 80's acts like Expose' and The Cover Girls. She came out around the same time as Gloria Estefan and The Miami Sound Machine. They played her stuff a lot down here in Miami where there was a high interest in Latin crossover artists...but I don't think she was very popular nationwide/worldwide. This was sorta kinda the first Latin explosion before the Ricky Martin and J-Lo Latin explosion in the 90's. Altho Ricky Martin WAS part of the first one, but he was a member of Menudo then. Anyway, she only had a local hit or two...both of which I can't remember. I DO, however, remember hearing her name and DO remember, everytime her songs and/or videos came on, turning the station. :fear:

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

It's quite funky, the song.

Way cool on a Saturday for me. Can't wait till Monday arrives. Looking SO forward to hear the rest of his voice on this track.

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

TomV, u got a point....

Agrees with xxMJxx...

I guess you will complain about the other songs that will be considered new but have been sitting in the MJ vault for years...

Lets just enjoy the song.. be it "new or old"...

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

I love this song!! It sounds new...but I am not an expert (far from it!) LOL!+

because he originally wrote this song for SAFIRE, but sometimes artists also record their own versions....

just a thought...

anyways, i am a little bit let down tho, it's not as if something we have NEVER EVER heard of... i've heard that song many times before...

so, rather than 'a new song' by Michael, it's more like an old song sand by Michael... if you know what i mean...

sigh....

yes i see what you mean but i never heard it before, i guess there are lots of songs that we haven't heard.

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

His voice sounds quite the same way as in Man In The Mirror to me!

Man, I can't stop listening to it! It has so much emotion.....and for some reason I feel like this way of 'I think I heard this before'. Like that feeling when you have you met someone new and feel as if you know the person already, u know?
Interesting....

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

I'm almost positive that the vocals are new. I'd put money on it, actually.

I put money against you lol

To make it clear the voice is form the 80s and the music the orchestra was recorded a few weeks ago.

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

His voice is so angelic.. and i LOVE it already!! This is the perfect This-is-it song ( if u know what i mean) :)

Now you have understand it. The voice is the original 80s voice and the arrangement is new.
There are two versions of the song. Both have the same voice but one version has new arrangements who were recorded only a few weeks ago.

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

I have this dream, this I believe. :)

Compare it to: This is it, here I stand.

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

I agree, doesn't sound 80s or dangerous era to me but I'm prob just hearing what I want to.

How do you know that?

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

This isn´t really hard to understand.
The Song and voice is from 1980. And the song will be on the This is it CD. But a few weeks ago new music was recorded for the song with an orchestra but of course still the same vocals. And the version with orchestra is also on the CD.
So there you have it two versions. Both the same vocals but different arrangements.

So is this so hard to understand??

Let´s enjoy the fantastic song.

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

Honestly I think this is the old version (I mean the music...) there's no orchestra in this snippet. The orch version is yet to be heard.

Will a song with 80s finger clicks have a chance on radio?

Don´t you understand?? The music is brand new!! For the last time it was recorded only a few weeks ago-so not old!!

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

The part from 0:30 sounds it bit like 3T's Why... "It's not like I can't explain what's in my heart"

His voice sounds more recent than 1979 I think...

Yepp Why was also recorded in the 80s maybe in the same session.

Re: THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds (or listen to Safire's version I Never Heard!)

this is a new song , new vocals. May have been a reworking from an old track in the 80s sure. But this was the song specially used for the This Is It shows that michael re recorded this year to debut at the shows !!!

really gettin tired of all the critical and hate on these boards as of late guys
