Los Angeles (CNN) -- A judge has ordered Dr. Conrad Murray to meet with Katherine Jackson's lawyers next month for a deposition in her wrongful death lawsuit against concert promoter AEG Live.
The lawsuit, which is set for trial in April, accuses AEG Live of causing the death of Katherine Jackson's son, Michael Jackson, by pressuring him to prepare for his 2009 comeback concerts while he was in fragile health.
The suit, filed on behalf of Michael Jackson's mother and three children, says that AEG Live executives hired and supervised Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death.
Murray lawyer Valerie Wass, who unsuccessfully objected to the deposition, said the decision disappointed her. Wass said she would advise Murray to invoke his Fifth Amendment right to not answer questions.
"But Dr. Murray has a mind of his own," Wass said. "If he decided to answer a question, those parties don't know what he's going to say."
The videotaped deposition is set to take place on March 18 in the Los Angeles County jail where Murray has been serving his sentence since November 2011.
Murray, who was the pop superstar's personal physician, has never been questioned under oath about Jackson's death. He did not testify at his trial.

An elusive New York doctor is refusing to answer a subpoena about the clean bill of health he gave Michael Jackson just months before the pop icon died, according to a suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Concert promoter AEG Live hired Dr. David Slavit to conduct a physical examination of the singer before his 2009 "This is It" series of performances in London for insurance purposes.

The pop icon's family is suing the concert promoter for pushing him to perform despite his failing health.
Based in Los Angeles, AEG claims that Slavit has repeatedly dodged giving a deposition about his suspect appraisal of Jackson's health and refused to release medical records since April of last year.

The company wants a judge to finally force the New York-based doctor to comply with the subpoena so that the wrongful death suit can proceed.

Phone calls to lawyers for AEG Live and Slavit weren't returned.

Re dr slavit - as confirmed in the autopsy mj was in good health apart from the overdose of propofol, so i can't imagine how his medical would reveal anything negative.

Knowing the Jackson family's habit of speaking out of turn and/or making things up, I wonder if AEG is watching them regardless to where they may be interviewed.

It would make sense that AEG has a slew of paralegals, who's sole purpose is to collect interview footage starring various members of the Jackson family. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Oh i agree with you, bigapple. I was just trying to get inside the mindset of the jacksun which is no easy task and work out what on earth jerms was thinking of talking away like that in norway. In the days of the internet and youtube it's so risky to think that just because you're out of the usa you can just talk alot of nonsense in the lead up to a multi-million trial. I'm sure for example that aeg have seen that youtube of latoya at some 'justice' function rambling on about being told by prince that certain people, cough randy philips cough, were wandering around carolwood the night of 24/25 june, presumably propofol syringe in hand.

Wass said she would advise Murray to invoke his Fifth Amendment right to not answer questions.

I said a while back that Murray "may" invoke the Fifth so not to incriminate himself. I mean, Murray probably thinks that at some point he will be able to practice medicine again. (Another delusional member of planet earth.)

He wants his conviction overturned and he wants his medical license back, I can certainly see him invoking the Fifth Amendment.

And if he doesn't, since he's so arrogant, I can see him blaming Michael for everything, just like his defense team tried to do, i.e. "it was all Michael's idea. Michael showed me what to do. Michael had a history with that drug."

At this point, I don't put anything past anybody. And if Murray does decide to answer any of their questions, he should forget about appealing his conviction or ever getting his license back. His big mouth will seal the deal for him, IF he decides to talk and I'm positive that's what his attorney will be telling him.

Nurse Lee said under oath in Conrad Murray's trial she did the blood test and health check for Michael and he was healthy. The doctor in emergency room weighed Michael and said his weight was in normal range. Coroner roger said Michael's autopsy showed he was healthier than people his age. the Jacksons now want to paint Michael like what the media wanted 'a dead man walking' so they can win this civil trial $$$$. the jacksons and Conrad Murray really one of a kind, i remember the jacksons are the first claim "this is it" is heavily edited, left out all the fragile MJ. Then in Murray's criminal trial, murray attorney asked the judge to force AEG provided all the raw rehearsal footages. the judge had to watch those hundred hours long raw MJ rehearsal footage and concluded Michael was amazing on all those footage. The Jackson are the biggest enemy of MJ. A embarrassment to Michael's legacy.

Just goes to show you how desperate the Jackson are.

If they had any REAL evidence of AEG's wrong doing, they wouldn't be going to these great lengths in order to scrap up something -at this point ANYTHING.

In my opinion, they have scraped the bottom of the barrel a few times, and have still come up with nothing.

What the heck does that have to do with the price of beans?

In my opinion, that ain't gonna help Mother's case. Mother needs Murray to say that AEG knew that he was giving Michael Diprovan every night and it was AEG who instructed Murray to do so.

I don't think any of those other comments matter to the scheme of things. I don't know for a fact, just thinking out loud, but I would definitely say that "Murray," "AEG," and "the use of Diprovan" need to be tied together WITH SOLID EVIDENCE.

On such an exciting day when we get the Michael Jackson ONE announcement! And then there is this garbage. It shouldn't be too hard to prove Conrad Murray is unable to tell the truth. Just ask the paramedics and ER doctor.

I have said it before but AEG will fight this and they will not settle because they don't want to be known as the company that killed the King of Pop.

February 25 is oral hearing then we will wait for the judge to make a decision either way. It could happen any time after February 25 and jury selection. 2 weeks is kinda like an average estimate. So we will probably know by mid -march.

Why would they weigh so heavily on Muarry's words. He has been caught telling several lies & AEG is going to question any evidence he gives along those lines. Further he hates AEG, especially since he felt he should be paid by them & was not, so he will say anything to make AGE lose their case.

When I saw what Katherine's side wrote " Jackson, who was in substantial debt at the time, was in "no condition to say no to AEG," they wrote, it just further cements the ideas I have about that family. They make it seem as though he had no other recourse except to work with AEG, and when I remember the plans he had written in the notes we looked at, it shows that the family really do not know much about Michael or what he was doing.

what else do the family have. i guess the families logic is even if murray is a proven nutjob liar if they can get him to suddenly change his story and say AEG held a gun to his head and made him give mj diprivan then great because thats everything their suit is about.if they can get him to say that then its upto the jury to decide who they believe and as i said even though murray has no credibility the family dont care if murray can help their case. we have seen that the family have no issues making murray out to be the fall guy/victim. its a case of by any means necessary even supporting mjs killer if it means they can win the big prize.

^^^^ The family know that Murray would be only too happy to blame someone else, plus they want the testimony that Michael was put under pressure from AEG to get to rehearsals ie if he didn't get sleep he would have to cancel the next day's rehearsals etc.

I wonder if one question from Jacksons camp would be 'whilst you were organising your love life, could someone else have entered the room and administered the fatal dose?

yeah the judge from AEG. he was ordered to give a deposition though not to actually testify. the family will only use him to testify if he says anything of intrest in the deposition..i suppose the judge is just going through the motions ie they still rule on this because its before they rule on the dismissal. i dont expect it to be dismissed at all. maybe sections but not all

Well we have Murray's police interview that we heard during his criminal trial. Assuming he would be consistent :

In that one (also in the documentary) he said he knew and treated Michael for some time. So that kinda blows the AEG choose and hired Murray claim that Katherine has. It supports AEG's claims that Murray was Michael's physician and was selected by him.

In the police interview Murray said he was working for Michael and would be paid by AEG - which again supports AEG's claim that even though Murray's contract was signed he would have been an independent contractor.

In his interview Murray said Michael was knowledgeable about Propofol , called it "milk" and "antiburn" and mentioned how other doctors including Adams and doctors at Germany gave it to Michael. This is again fits with AEG's claims of "addiction" and refutes Katherine's claims that Propofol was AEG's idea or selection.

The only thing that helps Katherine is Phillips's comments about Michael's financial situation, Murray talking about Michael complaining about he would need to cancel the rehearsals and/or tours. Murray wanted to use this as his defense to show that Michael was desperate for sleep and as a reason to explain why he caved in and gave Michael Propofol.

So with that the situation becomes indirect. not that AEG knew, controlled or ordered the medical care but were they a reason for this treatment and do they share any responsibility?

in an example format imagine if your employer had given you a deadline and in order to meet that deadline you keep working by drinking energy drinks nonstop and your heart stops and die, is your employer responsible even though they didn't tell you to work and drink non-stop and did not know you were doing it?

Also Murray can explain for when he wanted the medical equipment. That's a disagreement in this case. Katherine claiming AEG did not provide medical equipment to Murray and AEG claiming it was for UK.

Also Murray is a wild card in regards to who he can say that knew about Propofol. AEG people are saying that they didn't know.

No. The judge will hear the oral arguments monday and then make a decision. While they are waiting for the decision everything will continue as if the trial is going to happen. If it gets dismissed it will, if it doesn't they'll be ready to go to trial at April.

are the Jackson this desperate for money? Not only Dr. David gave michael a clean bill of health, nurse lee and the autopsy all said Michael was very healthy. Nurse Lee said under oath in Conrad Murray's trial she did the blood test and health check for Michael and he was healthy. The doctor in emergency room weighed Michael and said his weight was in normal range. Coroner roger said Michael's autopsy showed he was healthier than people his age. the Jacksons now want to paint Michael like what the media wanted 'a dead man walking' so they can win this civil trial $$$$. the jacksons and Conrad Murray really one of a kind, i remember the jacksons are the first claim "this is it" is heavily edited, left out all the fragile MJ. Then in Murray's criminal trial, murray attorney asked the judge to force AEG provided all the raw rehearsal footages. the judge had to watch those hundred hours long raw MJ rehearsal footage and concluded Michael was amazing on all those footage. The Jackson are the biggest enemy of MJ. A embarrassment to Michael's legacy.

Ok, so Nurse Lee, Dr Slavit, Murray all told to AEG people that Michel was in good health.
According to Jacksons, AEG should have know better?
Are Jackson's thinking that AEG people shouldn't have trusted what docs tells them, and start doctoring Michael themselves?
What kind of person without any medical training questions whether doctor knows what he/she is going?

When I saw what Katherine's side wrote " Jackson, who was in substantial debt at the time, was in "no condition to say no to AEG," they wrote, it just further cements the ideas I have about that family. They make it seem as though he had no other recourse except to work with AEG, and when I remember the plans he had written in the notes we looked at, it shows that the family really do not know much about Michael or what he was doing.

Well, they cannot use that anymore. Jermaine is going around talk shows telling that MJ was going on tour with them, so he had other options than AEG + he could've taken that family organised Allgood gig for starters. I'm loving it when they messing up the case for themselves.

whack bunch of jury members high on crack
to completey DISREGARD Conrat Murray's a convicted felon.
And Jermaine's using this platform to advance his conspiracy theory.

lots of filing but nothing on the online system yet

These 3 are about Murray's deposition. We know from media that Katherine wants to depose Murray , Murray objected but Judge granted it.

The rest are AEG responses. Some seems to be unredacted and sealed but some do not. We will wait to see if and when we can see them at the online system.

Ivy, if Murray goes thought this deposition without taking 5th. Then he will have to take witness stand on trial so AEG lawyers can question him too, am I right?
