I agree, if they just distanced themselves from MJ and focussed on their careers now it would be much better, and would probably get more support from MJ fans. But Jermaine seems adament to take MJ's place and it isn't going to happen, he needs to stick singing songs that suit his voice because Wanna' Be Startin' Somethin' definitely doesn't suit his voice.

One off post can derail a whole thread off topic _ please stay on topic of the tour. Suddenly this thread has become all about Jermaine - This is not a bashing thread. If your comments are not related to the tour and the only purpose is to bash then it will be removed - plain and simple. I dont want to have to remove the Jermaine video and all replies to it - so please dont be the cause of that action being taken in this thread.

Constructive respectful criticsism is welcome as it pertians to the Jacksons Tour
But clearly some post have gone beyond that and have been deleted.

I wonder if they will have a Whitney Houston tribute. I loved the songs Jermaine and Whitney recorded together and it would be great if they were a part of the setlist.

I don't know what to expect from the concerts. I'd like the brothers to perform all those hits sharing Michael's lead. I know some of us here will call that 'destroying MJ's legacy' but that's the best option.

The Jacksons' July 11 concert at the Fox Theatre is canceled.

The cancellation is blamed on a scheduling conflict.

Ticket holders who purchased with a credit card will receive an automatic refund. Those who purchased via another method may receive a refund at the Fox Box Office. MetroTix will be contacting ticket purchasers, but you may also call 314-534-1111 for additional details.

In my opinion, "scheduling conflict" = low ticket sales.

I mean, no artist in the history of artist ever wants to admit "we had to cancel because of low ticket sales." LOL! They usually call it something else to avoid any embarrassment.

It's still all good, UNLESS they have to announce more "scheduling conflicts."

I've check some other dates of their tour, and many of them are cancelled in other cities too. Maybe things aren't going too well for them.

For some reason the concerts on Jacksons webpage doesn't match with what is on ticket-master?
Anyways, I did search for LA concert in ticket-masters (marked grey in Jackson page) and I could book tickets if I wanted.
So grey doesn't mean booked out.

The Jacksons don't want to put the cart before the horse, so the group has cancelled their first two concerts because they've been busy recording their new album ... TMZ has learned.

The group announced this week they are canceling shows in Louisville and Cincinnati, which a rep for the band chalked up to "scheduling conflicts."

But a source close to the Jacksons tells TMZ the brothers (Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito) want to finish their studio album before they hit the road so they can perform the new tracks on tour.

We're told the Jacksons want to make up the missed dates, but nothing is planned so far.

The tour is scheduled to (probably) kick off on June 20 in Rama, ON, Canada.

I can't say that i'm surprised by the cancellations.

The Jacksons have marketed themselves terribly. Just no strategy. What they do isn't going mobilize no fanbase for them.

*Update* The Jackson brothers won’t be reuniting for their Unity Tour as early as they once planned because the first two scheduled dates of the summer excursion have been canceled, along with a handful of other shows.
“The Jacksons: Unity Tour 2012” was set to begin June 18 in Louisville, Ky., at The Louisville Palace Theatre. The listing on Ticketmaster’s website says the show has been canceled.
Additional gigs that are also listed as canceled are: June 19 at Cincinnati’s PNC Pavilion At Riverben; June 26 at Cleveland’s Jacobs Pavilion At Nautica; July 6 in Raleigh, N.C., at Raleigh Amphitheatre; and July 10 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
Internet and phone orders will be automatically refunded. If you bought your tickets in person, refunds are available at point of purchase.

A PR representative for The Jacksons told Pollstar the tour will now kick off June 20 in Rama, Ontario, at Casino Rama. Dates are booked through July 29 in Snoqualmie, Wash., at the Snoqualmie Casino.
The Jacksons’ management is expected to issue a statement about the canceled dates, which are still listed on the act’s website.
The Unity Tour marks the first time Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito have toured together since 1984’s Victory Tour.

Phoenix, the Jackson family stalwart , a long time friend and former spokesperson for the Jackson Family, has also managed one of the famous Jackson brothers, Tito Jackson tells fans to get refunds for tickets they may have purchased for the Unity tour because its not going to happen .

Phoenix always said “if you ever see the Jacksons on stage again as a group, one of them will have passed away, one of them would be in a wheelchair, and one of them will be on crutches. This is what would happen if all 5 (6) members ever went up there on the stage again, including Randy, because it’s been over three decades since the Jacksons have performed together on stage.”

The Jacksons’ tour dates were scheduled back to back and they made a statement about Michael doing 50 shows that were too close to one another for his This Is It Tour. The Jacksons are now seniors in their late 50’s and early 60’s getting ready for their AARP membership card. If anyone would have gotten ill it would have been one of the brothers up there on the stage going into cardiac arrest, according to Phoenix.

With the recent cancelation of the first few dates of the Jacksons’ Unity Tour 2012, many people have speculated otherwise on the reason behind the canceled dates is that the Jackson brothers want to finish their studio album before they hit the road. The Jacksons have been saying they are going to be releasing a new album for over two decades now!

If the Jacksons were, indeed, releasing a new album, we would have known what record label they are on even if it is an independent label. Realistically, no record company has given them a deal. Record companies base their artists and promotions upon numbers and the Jacksons cannot guarantee them numbers.

There cannot be a Jacksons Unity Tour without the glue that kept it all together – Michael Jackson! It just won’t work. So why did they wait until after Michael’s death to do this tour? According to Phoenix, perhaps because the golden goose that carried them for so long is now gone and they need money. They could have done it without him a long time ago even before his passing, but never attempted to.

They couldn’t even “get it together” on their A&E reality show, “The Jacksons A Family Dynasty” because there was no “Unity.” In the words of their famous brother, Michael Jackson, “Where is the love, L-O-V-E?”

A final word from Phoenix: “What is my prediction on the Jacksons now….. with their comeback? Let me look into my crystal ball… what I see is…. Go get your money back now for your tickets because this tour will never happen!”

I couldn’t stop laughing while’s reading because he Just said what most fans have been thinking , There is no unity among the brothers , they cant get their act together even after 30 years . Do i think the tour will go on ? Yes but there is no doubt that there is alot of friction going on

Although fans, including myself, have already been pretty vocal on "some" of those points, I guess hearing it from somebody who is not in our little circle (LOL) just adds more of a sting to those words.

That joint was cold like The Polar Bear Club taking a dip in the Coney Island waters on New Year's Day and that's cold. LOL!

I saw that post in eurweb, I wasn't brave enough to post it here as it is rather hmmm cold as you say:)
I do agree with him in certain parts, like "they could have done it without him a long time ago even before his passing, but never attempted to."

We'll see how it goes after they start their tour.

Very, very cold. I actually wanted them to get back up on stage and be successful, but if this pre-review is a taste of what's to come, they should seriously reconsider. It was sad how critics and the general public crucified poor Whitney with her comeback.

I'm hearing promos for the tour pretty regularly on the radio for my town, but ever time a promo runs, the station follows it with a MJ song from his solo years! I wonder if that's the stations' decision or if they were instructed by the promoters to do that.

It just not going to be the same without Michael. And the man was right that they should have done this a long time ago while Michael was still here. I am sure he would have supported that like he did Janet. Many groups change over the years and go on. They are going to finish an album like in like 2 weeks?
