NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

In a new radio interview with B96's Morning Show, Akon confirmed that he will be releasing his next album in October. No additional details were revealed about his collaboration with MJ, but assuming his previous word holds true you can expect many more details about this song to be revealed in the month to come (and perhaps a proper release as a lead single).

well i do hope that they release it

Given that the album is coming out in October and the fact that there is a video to go along with the song you would expect the song to be out within the next couple of weeks.

thank you TSCM.....aaahhhh i can't wait i'm very tierd of waiting ....

That Akon/Lady Gaga interview worried me... never once did Akon mention Michael. There were so many opportunities where Akon could have commented on his work with Michael and NOTHING. They asked him about who he is working with, who will be on the new album, song leaks, etc. And never once did he say anything about the Hold My Hand leak. He never mentioned that Michael will be on the new album, his name wasn't even brought up! Something suspicious is going on here... Don't tell me things fell through and Michael wont be on the album anymore:(

Will we EVER get this single?

It seems cracy to wait this long when there has been a leak to the net.

Only explenation most be that they are making a video for it and waits to release the single till the video is finalized.

This is really funny:lol: MJ has to know how crazy his fans has been since HMH leaked huaha

she obv wanted akon to say mj's name. why else would someone ask an artist about someone other than the artist whose album it is?

If the album is coming out next month then they had better hurry the heck up with releasing the single/video already! Whats going on??

There already playing it here in Indiana..

So who knows where it will pop up at?

Thats what I'm worried about...if Akon's album is dropping in October then why has he done no hype or promotion for it and why is there no lead off single or video. Like this doesn't make any sense. The only explanation I can give is that maybe Akon's album will be pushed back to November or even December. Otherwise there is just not enough time, and Im also worried about whether MJ will appear on the record. The last word we had was on July 31st when Akon did the MTV interview and spoke greatly about Michael Jackson. Akon said Mike has the prime slot on the album and he will be on it for sure. Since then Akon has not spoke a word about it, even during several opportunities when he was in position to. Who knows what is going on but I do think either this is a hush hush thing or maybe Michael isn't gunna be on the album anymore.

wouldnt surprise if nothing happens because of all the legal issues that comes with this type of thing. either the album comes later or its not released as the first single.

fear not.
akons album will need a single
he will want a sure hit
hold my hand is that song
just a matter of when, not if, in my estimation.
akon maintains october. i saw an interview video with him a week ago, he was insisting sometime in october, he said he has no exact date but october IS the month. cant do any more than wait:)

to be honest, I don't think HMH is all that good. It's decent but definitely not 'sure hit material'

Akon's album may have to wait a little bit longer:

Akon plans on trial in New York fan-toss case

By JESSICA M. PASKO, Associated Press Writer 28 minutes ago

FISHKILL, N.Y. - Akon is headed to trial on criminal charges he tossed a fan offstage at an upstate concert last summer.

The 35-year-old singer is accused of tossing a teenager off the stage during a June 2007 concert at a minor league baseball stadium near Poughkeepsie. Another concertgoer said she suffered a concussion when the boy landed on her.

Akon, whose real name is Aliaune Thiam, asked for the jury trial during a brief appearance with his lawyer in Fishkill Town Court on Wednesday. He's due back in court for trial Dec. 1 unless a deal is negotiated in the meantime.

He pleaded not guilty in December to misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment, a violation.

In court Wednesday, Judge Harold Epstein met privately with Akon's lawyer, Andrea Zellan, and Dutchess County Assistant District Attorney Anthony Parisi before announcing the case would go to trial unless a deal is reached.

"We are pleased that Judge Epstein adjourned the case to a date certain for either a trial or a negotiated resolution," Zellan said in a prepared statement. "Akon looks forward to putting this incident behind him, and in the meantime he will continue to meet every requirement set forth by the court."

Akon's hits include "Smack That" with Eminem and "I Wanna Love You" with Snoop Dogg. His most recent album, "Konvicted," was nominated for four Grammy Awards.
