NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

the song is going to be on MJ's new album...
it is far too good not to be..that song is a hit....a new album from MJ would be incomplete without that song..

the album will not be ready soon....but this song will be on it, the legal guys will crack down on the illegal copies to protect the song

that is my prediction...and I was right 4months ago with the credit crunch and the presidental election...
 
I feel guilty! ... We, fans, are so desperate to have new pieces of MJ and imprastiem them on the Internet ... and this makes him a great disservice ... I believe that we are responsible for the cancellation of the project Hold My Hand ...
 
Well, there's another side to it. With a song like Excape, all brakes were on, also on this forum. Because it was known from the beginning it was not meant to be out there. With Hold My Hand there was a completely different vibe. There was talk of a release, of a video. And all within a relatively short amount of time. With that in mind, the leak seemed to be somewhat on purpose, to create a buzz. And it did buzz, but for a short period of time. In the end, although I loved it, I don't think the song was strong enough to become a comeback single. The buzz died down too soon, the response from radio, after the initial excitement, was not really good.

to be fair how can there be anything more than an intital buzz if nothing happens with the song. it got leaked a few stations played it and that was it. it wasnt going to keep being played if there was going to be no follow up ie a proper release and proper demos sent out to stations
 
This song is so below MJ it's not funny. I'm glad it was leaked, now it won't see the light of day on any album. Thankgod for the internet (in this case).

right, and actually on first leak the tune was gathering widespread positive response around the web. usually natural born haters love to jump on any new material from anyone (and i've seen this happen on countless forums and blog/YT comment boxes). HMH had potential for mainstream success.

but it's funny how many mj folk are heavily putting the tune down now that they think it won't see the light of day, lol.

But about HMH I think it was a shame. Even though we all love leaks when they come, it's really shitty that they can do stuff like this!

I don't think fans should feel guilty too much. We didn't leak it. Someone with access to the song did this. When I posted the article, I was mainly trying to say to us as fans that WE should do our part by being careful and responsible about the information we have access to regarding MJ's projects. There are fans who go digging for info and contact radio folks and whatnot in an attempt to get an edge of some sort and bring things to the rest of us. In our excitement and anxiousness for things we STILL have to try and excercise responsibility and care.

And that's the other thing I mentioned when I posted the article. See, THIS was a song you thought was below MJ, but the next one might be something you support...and other fans who hate it will be glad when it leaks and gets shelved. And at that rate MJ will never get to release new music. That's not something any of us wish for, is it? I might start to wonder about folks who wish and hope for leaks, knowing full well that it could cause more harm than good for Michael as well as the rest of us. And I DO get that with the internet these things are unavoidable now, but it's unfortunate to see people hoping for things to be leaked cuz they don't like something...or rather go out of their way to facilitate possible leaks. It's borderline sabotage imho.

Exactly. I honestly believe the leak may have come too quick or it spread more rapidly than anyone had expected. And then it spiraled out of control to the point where Akon and MJ were probably playing catch up. Who knows what else got in the way to hold things up so they couldn't proceed and do things "properly" as Akon put it. From a business standpoint, I completely understand the logic of canning the project. It's just unfortunate.

Well you can still enjoy it on youtube. :D I kinda suspected something might be up with the song when they stopped taking it down from youtube.

On a positive note (cuz I'm not a perpetually negative Nelly) everything happens for a reason. So maybe the next thing to come along will be even better. Looks like Akon and MJ have something else in mind. Should be interesting.

yeh its a shame..... BUT oh well!!! it doesnt bother me that much to be honest, i think weve got alot better from MICHAEL STILL coming, this isnt realy a big deal... lets LOOK FORWARD to the FUTURE!!!!! :D xxx

You guys do realize that the song still exists for you to listen to for your own enjoyment, right? Or does it only count as music if it's released?

There's no reason to forget about the song whatsoever.
