NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

In a new interview from this past week with Kiwibox, Akon said that there will be another album with nothing but collaborations... He didn't say who will or will not be included on this album, but it certainly opens the door of possibility for Hold My Hand to appear.

Q: You also collaborated with Michael Jackson.

A: Absolutely.

Q: What's the fate of that collaboration?

A: We'll see what happens, before I step further in--more recordings with him, and doing more records for an upcoming album....[camera edit]...And we just gotta wait to see exactly what he wants to do.

...

Q: Who was on your dream list for a collaboration?

A: Well, that will be on the "King Collabo" album...[camera edit]...The whole album is just collaborations with people you'd never expect me to do collabos with. So, that'll answer your question when that record drops.

LOL I'm tired of raising my hope for the song already....
But IDK.. I have a feeling this is not going to be the end of HMH. Maybe used in a project in the future, who knows.. :)

I think what he meant was, you can work as hard as you please but without talent it won't make any difference when competeing with someone with talent. Which is true. But you also have to hone your talent, so saying people with talent don't work hard is stupid, lol.

i really wish ppl would stop these rumors
If it true then great...but if it not can ppl stop going on bout it!

But they dont know if its not true or not :S Thats why its a RUMOUR.

Would be cool.

Akon is confused. I mean is he trying to say that not-so-talented people work harder? What kind of LOGIC is that?

Maybe he meant not so talented people have to work harder then talented people but it just came out the wrong way. Either way, it makes no sense how he put it.

It makes him sound as dumb as he already is. Mr. "I stole 1,000 cars and was a car thief kingpin and was locked up for five years".

First off, where did the speculation about it being used in the inauguration come from? Did I miss something?
Link? Thread? Or is this wishful thinking?

Hmm.... thanks for posting, TSCM. Do you know when this interview took place? It's possible the one I posted earlier was done afterwards as it sounded more "final" as far as decision-making goes. Those camera edits in the kiwibox footage are interesting tho. Hmmm.....

On second thought, I'm with Sasha on this one. I'm done having my hopes raised about this song. Maybe it's time for Akon to stop talking about it and for ppl to stop looking for it. IF, by chance, it shows up again somewhere, it'll be a nice surprise. :) Moving on.

lol...who is moving on? this thread is still alive so the song must be still alive in peoples' hearts. even if there are others who don't like the song, this thread shoulda been dead a long time ago, if everybody hates the song. so..there are enough fans to say that MJ gets the thumbs up, even in a down moment. maybe Akon, MJ and whoever is controllong this situation, should look at this thread, and realize that they're sitting on a gold mine, and shouldn't give it up.

From KOP by King of Spain:

Yeah I saw that rapper on E4 Music, Akon appears on his new album and played him approx. 10 MJ tracks. I got the impression from this dude that he didn't like them v. much, he said Mike sounded good, but said it was just weird hearing MIke's voice on what sounded like Akon tracks. This coming from a self-proclaimed Michael nut, so I for one would be really glad NOT to see Akon any where near the new album, although I still think it would be a good tool for Mike to have 'Hold My Hand' on Akon's album.

As for the falling out rumours, i've heard Akon do a couple of radio interviews very recently here in the UK and he has failed to even mention any collaboration with MJ. The interviewers even listed future collaborations Akon is doing but didn't mention Mike. Strange that after months of Akon going on about working with Mike he is now refusing to comment at all.

Maybe Michael put Akon on Limited Profile on Facebook!!

i just think that Akon is learning what Darkchild has learned. that MJ is a vicious taskmaster( i mean that in the positive sense) and will do what he wants when he wants..and the music has to be good..and..well...lol

that's the way it is. the song may be good to MJ....it may not be..but he felt it good enough to leak maybe..but still...maybe...he didn't think it good enough to release maybe..lol

i remember Darkchild being intimidated. but now..Darkchild is acting as if Mj is later on his list..lol..like MJ can wait. but really i think Darkchild is scared of working with that kind of demanding genius again. and maybe Akon is learning this too.

I dont know if its being scared. I just think producers like to get to work, get the job done and move on and not have to wait for so long. I mean there trying to make profit also. If your working only with 1 artist and that artist is taking up to a year or more to make decisions then your not making much money as a producer. So it doesnt make sense to commit to that type of artist if you know he takes a long time to make decisions. Your better off producing for multiple artist who make there albums within 3 months.

^^ Exactly. Producers wanna make some money. If the artist is so hell-bent on "perfecting" it, they can forget it. MJ ain't like every other guy and sometimes that's not always a good thing.

What about having the ability to make a great album in 3 to 6 months. Just get in the studio and get the job done. I dont mean just make a album just for money with low quality. I mean get in the studio and get it done in 3 months. Even 6 months. Sometimes trying to be to perfect your songs come out sounding over produced. There's nothing wrong with a artist wanting perfection, but when that perfection turns in to years as a producer im moving on. Id start to wonder does this guy even want to release a album or not.

you don't tell creativity what time it is. if u wanna hurry up then u will end up with what u hear on the radio these days. MJ can afford to wait till he likes it. meanwhile..the stuff u hear on the radio right now..is for u guys who like the clock so much.

Yeah you're right. But I think SOME producers nowadays want to present quantity over quality. All of them all seem stuck in the fact that they can make a "Thriller" sales-wise styled album. That's why half the time you see so many guests on some rapper's album just to see if it'll stick. That's why I said "producers want money". Plus Akon isn't the producer on any of his stuff (he's an executive producer), lol. In a way, I can't even say what Michael is doing because we all don't know, lol.

How are you going to make a living as a producer if a artist takes years to make the album?. Cmon be realistic here. Ok i would stay and produce the album still because its MJ, but im working with other artist also. Im not going to 100% commit only to MJ and thats it. Rodney did that back in 2001. It shouldn't take years to be creative anyway. It didnt take years to make Thriller or Off The Wall. Thats because Quincy and MJ got to work.

u still can't tell creativity what to do. quincy never thought that thriller would come off as it did. u stil can't tell creativity to hurry up. quincy doesn't have that control on a regular basis. he'd be the first to tell u that. most execs think as u do...on the clock. and those execs are losing a lot of money, cus..in the end...creativity rules.

The reason why Quincy thought Thriller wouldn't come out the way it did was because of timing. CBS was looking for the new MJ album and they had to re-record and re-program everything to get it right. I don't get the "creative process" b/w MJ and Akon if any...yet.

If creativity is taking years than either

1. Your not that creative

OR

2.Your not motivated to release your album anytime soon. Other things are going on to make the project not get released. It's impossible to go in a studio fully motivated and it take multiple years to complete the album. Usualy if a artist takes multiple years they either had problems with there label, had kids or had personel problems. Its not because it took them multiple years to make the album and they were in the studio the whole time.
