NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

are ya'll serious? Um...u guys act like MJ never took years to make GREAT CREATIVE albums (BAD, DANGEROUS, HISTORY) .

Also taking long time off is a strategic PR move as well. How many times does this need to be said? MJ works at his own pace. Doesn't mean he's not being creative or whatever. These newbie producers need to work WITH MJ on HIS time if they wanna do something, period. If not, hit the road. But it's MJ who has earned his right to take all the time he dang well pleases on an album, considering he's the legend, and he's the one who knows how to make hits. These producers WISH they could sell as much as MJ's so called FLOPS. MJ nit-pickiness has given birth to some of the most beautiful, legendary songs of our time. Period.

Psh. lol

 Just look at the album release dates... 1982, 1987, 1991, 1995, 2001. He usually takes at least 4 years to make an album. Sure, this new one is taking longer, but Michael's been through quite a lot in the past few years.

And so what if he takes his time? Sitting around here whining isn't gonna speed it up any. lol

If creativity is taking years than either

1. Your not that creative

OR

2.Your not motivated to release your album anytime soon. Other things are going on to make the project not get released. It's impossible to go in a studio fully motivated and it take multiple years to complete the album. Usualy if a artist takes multiple years they either had problems with there label, had kids or had personel problems. Its not because it took them multiple years to make the album and they were in the studio the whole time.

wow....you are so off base about that. forget MJ for a second. ask all the great painters and other artists..classical artists...any artist that has a lasting name. they all don't have a clock as their freind. take the time to look into it...loll even if a song takes a minute..that doesn't mean a whole album takes an hour. i'll say it one more time. an exec cannot order a 'timely' album like it's a spreadsheet for excell. this is art we are talking about. and..i'm guessing u r going by what u think MJ went through. well..u and i are not flies on his wall. so we don't know. and..like aomeone else just posted. all of MJ's albums were not done like thriller. yet they all are big hits. some took more years than others. MJ's status for being able to relax is because he made room for his creativity. he will never have to run himself into the ground like james brown did..or other artists of today have to, because he doesn't play by the clock. his music is better because he doesn't play by the clock.

Plus, those are simply release dates/time between them. Michael himself says the writing process is constantly happening. He may have been working on certain albums in the past and not known it. (ex. songs from Dangerous ending up on HIStory, Off the Wall to Thriller, etc.)

I dont know if its being scared. I just think producers like to get to work, get the job done and move on and not have to wait for so long. I mean there trying to make profit also. If your working only with 1 artist and that artist is taking up to a year or more to make decisions then your not making much money as a producer. So it doesnt make sense to commit to that type of artist if you know he takes a long time to make decisions. Your better off producing for multiple artist who make there albums within 3 months.

you are free to go to listen to Rihanna then - she has a new album every 6 months.

And none of those artists went through a MILLIONTH PART of what Michael has. So give him some credit. He was accused of child raping, for God's sake - can you imagine the traumatic experience he has gone through? I understand you are impatient - hell, I am too. But I think it is better for Michael to do the best he can than to just be mediocre.

The fact the producers want to just 'move on' is EXACTLLY why this industry is crumbeling.. If they can't focus deep and long enough, then they don't cut it.. It's that simple.. There are good producers that will take the time out!!!! They will help with the masterpiece.. For others, it's there loss.

producers like Ne-Yo make hits for the moment.. Michael creates classics.. The time and energy it takes to make CLASSICS, is very indepth..

Now do I tihnk Ne-yo with Michael could make a classic hit? YES!! But Ne-yo will have to learn to bend, stretch, and work hard.. He (and others) will have to go through the bootcamp.. Ne-yo does not sound like he is the type to go for it that hard though.. We'll see what happens.

It doesn't take multiple years to make a classic. It took forever to make invincible and i wouldn't call that classic. The slow jams were great but the up tempo tracks were over produced and definetely not classic like his dance tracks on his old school albums.

You can take years to make a album and it still not be hot where someone else might make there album in 3 months and its hot.

u wouldn't call invincible a classic? that's one person's opinion.

The up tempo dance tracks like Unbreakabe, Heartbreaker, Threatened, YRMW are very mediocre dance tracks. Not something a non fan at a club is gonna be like thats my jaaaaaam. There decent.

Invincible's positives are Butteflies, Break of Dawn and Heaven Can Wait but many r&b artist have 3 very good slow jams on there album,

MJ needs better up tempo tracks that are catchy to non fans and not just MJ fans. I remember when Power 106 in LA hosted by Big Boy played Unbreakable and Big Boy and the morning crew was like " Not bad" BUT

They loved Butterflies though but i wouldn't call a album a classic when non fans only like 2 or 3 tracks. A classic is when everyone loves your entire album. Not just your die hard fans. Many artist have die hard fans who loves whatever you release. A classic is when everyone loves your album from die hard fans to non fans.

the definition of classic is subjective. for instance...there is classical music..but not everybody loves it.

and...Unbreakable is not a mediocre track.

you can't define classic as if you are Webster. even there are people who disagree with him.

we're going to have to agree to disagree...we can only express opinions here...and stating them as if they are fact is highly offensive...

i have my opinion about Unbreakable and the other tracks..and you have yours. and..as far as 'non fans' whatever that means...a lot of people dance to songs in the clubs that many other people deem as mediocre songs. so...to each their own on all these levels.

radio plays songs that people feel are mediocre..but they are on the radio anyway....

again..it's all subjective...

and besides..can you honestly say you know the personality, makeup and fan or non fan status of every individual in the world who bought a copy of Invincible?

Exactly. The amount of time he puts into his work is incredible.

I'm sure Michael could whip up an album and put it out tomorrow if he really felt like it, but I rather like the fact that he's a perfectionist and that he wants to share his best work with us.

NO!!! Invincible is the best worst overproduced blablablablablabla arrrrrg-- :bluemj:
