NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

 I understand the French... but... :bugeyed where did you hear it's going to be on the mixtape... there's a mixtape?

PS. Why they call it "Boss of Both Worlds" ? o_o LMAO

I don't wanna sound like a hater , really, but most of Kanye's hits are sampled. What is the genius in that? Has sampling become the ONLY way? Gimme a break.

You sound not just a hater but very bitter. Sampling is the root of hip hop. There is nothing wrong with that. Mary J. Blige hits were mostly samples of R&B classic songs. The Jackson Five sampled their own song. Madonna sampled songs, Celine and Whitney sang songs that were hits, or more like cover songs. The only diference is that they made those songs their own songs.

Sampling has nothing to do with genius. Not everyone in the music business have to be a genius or have the success of MJ to be a star. I see a lot of people's points regarding the state of the music business. However, it has more to do with money than talent and creativity.

A lot of these rap stars who are being played on the radio are the sad reality of what has happened when corporations take over an art for known as hip hop/ rap.

Personally speaking, I don't care if Akon is releasing a CD. I am not going to think of buying it. We do not know what really happened to the HMH song, but to blame Akon for why the song is not on the CD is immature and silly. It is just a song. It is online. What is the big deal if it is not on some dude, who whines when he sings, cd?

sampling is an art. i love how people only hear Timbaland or Kanye and base their strong opinons on sampling just from that. go listen to Pete Rock, DJ Premier, J Dilla or someone of that hip-hop calibre and then try and make an objective standpoint on this particular form of sampling. go deeper and see that sampling has been used widely (and still is) beyond just one genre.

Exactly. Even though I am going to ignore your comments on Kanye, LOL, you made a great point.

i believe Michael sampled a classical work for Will You Be There..

Yes he did.

Illegal so-called "official mixtape"
by Akon and T-Pain
features the track Hold My Hand

Note: The audio quality is NOT better than the poor quality internet leak (the actual bitrate is low).

It's really nothing different than the half-dozen other mixtapes the track has appeared on in the past four months. The "CD quality" is still nothing better than the 192kbps version that was originally leaked, that's what they all use.

OK, so I am not entitled to my own opinion?

And not once did I say that I thought sampling should be banned or whatever - but when someone bases his career on hits which are ALL sampled (Diamonds of Sierra Leone, Through The Wire, Good Life, Stronger, Gold Digger, Jesus Walks) - I really can't appreciate that as I would appreciate someone who created original melodies. Call me limited. I don' give a damn. Just don't call me BITTER for entitling my own opinion, and don't act as Judgy van Holier Than Thou...

Akon has also been busy producing, performing or writing with a glut of other artists, including Lady Gaga, Kat De Luna, Lionel Richie, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, 50 Cent, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. The latter two recently had Akon-produced songs leak online ("Like I Never Left" and "Hold My Hand," respectively), but Akon is unsure if either track will be included in either artist's comeback albums. "With those types of artists you can't really say," he says.

This song should be between a guy and a girl. Having two guys like MJ and Akon never made sense. Maybe we haven't heard the last of this song..

Yeah, I read this today.. and it got me a lil' curious. After all, it was meant to be a MJ track?.. but now.. I really doubt that the song is going to see the light of day though.. but eh.

I thought this thread disappeared.

I never thought this song would make the final cut, for numerous reasons. I don't see the big deal whether it makes it or not. It's probably not the first time MJ has worked with someone and a track doesn't make their album, it doesn't mean MJ wasn't "good enough" to be on their album, it just means the song didn't make it for whatever reason.

Not again.. LOL...
poor Mike... he thinks that hip pop is the only music that younger listen... he should inform inself about other type of music... Michael.. wake up! The world is HUGE!

Well... You can't judge a book by it's cover.. That is all I wanted to say..

PATIENCE..

The song is officially dead. :( Let this be a lesson to everyone who comes across MJ info and potential new songs (whether accidentally or via your "connections") that he hasn't authorized to be released yet. If this ish continues, we will NEVER get an album. Seriously. Whether you liked the song or not, a song you DO like and approve of could come along and meet the same fate. READ ON: *SIGH*

Akon and Michael Jackson's rumoured collaboration will not be appearing as a track on Akon's new album.

Akon told Take 40 exclusively that despite reports the track 'Hold My Hand' would feature on his album, it has now been canned from the final cut.

"The track 'Hold My Hand' was leaked on the internet and it spoiled a lot of things we had planned for the record," Akon said. "Collectively we felt that, with a collaboration like that, and his (Michael Jackson's) first time coming back after a long time, it needed to be done properly. We decided we need to invest in the future and figure out another way to come, even if we have to come with a new record."

The first single from Akon's next album 'Freedom' is called 'I'm So Paid' - coming to a radio near you soon!
**************************************************************

Edit:

Bright spot is that the song was something he wanted to do and actually did. :) Too bad other people ruined it.

Really sad that it was canned all because of the leaked demo--it's very difficult in this age to release a song officially, before getting leaked. This seems especially true when it involves major artists.

AFCSKZVJKZCHVKDJHBH... I knew it.

Well... let's see what else they have for us next later on, and hopefully, it will not have any troubles, or leak.

RIP HMH!

Hello? Everything gets leaked these days. It's called the Internet. Get with the program. lol

Oh well, just gotta wait for what else they come up with. I'm sure we can wait.

OMGAAA WTH.!?!; Hold My Hand is JUST playing now on my playlist while I type this. o_o freeaky. Stop haaaauunting me, making me depressed. :hysterical: :mello:

Sigh..... ok, look at the siggy peeps. I dont thnk HMH is the first thing on yall minds anyway.

well yeah but anyone could do that. making the complex melodies is the hardest part - if you can do that THEN you are talented. (my opinion at least)...

I second this!

Also, I don't get why there's so much hype over the MJ/Akon collaboration; it's just a way of an artist getting more publicity and more fans through making use of Michael! I'm sorry that i sound really sceptical, but it's true.
