^^I can't believe Gladys made such a fool of herself with that statement. This is someone who knows about ticket sales because she has held several concerts before. Why does she call this nonsense the biggest? Have all the old school artists connected to the Jackson, lost their sense of proportion and balance?

I guess we now have to redefine "once in a lifetime," "the biggest," "only," "galaxy of international stars" because these people have given these words all new meanings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Biggest and only? surely these stars are being lied to, I can't figure any other reason why she would come out with a statement like that.

^^These artists must know what is going on, because how come they are all tweeting or mentioning it--very pityful if you ask me, almost as though they are helping advertise the event. I hope they don't ask GLE for extra money due to their efforts in advertising the gig.

I'm so glad this mess of a tribute will be done in a few more days. I hope Michael's family learns from this and realize the best way for them to earn money is by respecting Michael's legacy and supporting his Estate. MJ's fans will like them a lot more that way and we may even support some of their projects. I know I will but NEVER LaToya. She has gone too far for me. JMHO.

^^Yeah, but I thought Knight had retired. During the Jackson reality show she was doing her final show, so I do not think she wants to revive her career. I think the family asked her, and since she knew them and lived on the same street in LA where they grew up, she felt she had to take part. Now notice they did not try that nonsense with Diana Ross. How come they did not ask her since Michael was the closer to her than any of the other artists. I guess Diana is too smart to get involved in something like this.

Gladys hasn't retired. She performs regularly in Las Vegas.

Oh she does? Then what did the brothers mean by her farewell show? Does that mean she will not tour anymore but do local shows only?

I hate seeing Gladys make a statement like this because it just makes her look like a puppet also. She's too much of a legend to be these clowns puppet.

I agree with you. She was a big legend herself, but she wants to please her friends. I wish close friends would tell them that this thing is too tacky, however, they all simply joined in including Smokey.

Yeh gladys was probably wanting to be nice with the family since she has known them a long time. With diana i reckon she most likely knows alot more of how mj felt bout the family and wouldnt wanna take bout this tribute anyway cuz of that.

Yes I believe she performs at the Tropicana. I watched the show and don't remember them saying that but it probably does mean she won't be touring anymore and will probably just do one-off shows outside of Vegas.

Just checked her website and she has a handful of shows in November. Kind of looks like a mini tour so not sure. And her engagement at the Tropicana is for several months. It started in April so not sure how much longer it will last.

I also think that "wanting to be nice with the family" was only part of the reason Gladys agreed to participate in this fiasco.

I bet dollars-to-donuts that Chris Hunt told her (and all the other participants) that he would be showcasing a GALAXY OF INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTARS and that is another reason some of them most likely decided to participate. They were most likely thinking about Tributes such as the one which was held for Princess Diana and figured that everything would be on the up and up, so why not get involved.

I remember Katherine Jackson saying something like "when she heard the names of all the people who would be performing, she knew it would be a tribute fit for a king." Which leads me to believe Chris Hunt told her that he ALREADY had the line-up in place. I wonder how many others he pulled that on?

^^Basically nothing new happened. They took out some ads, you can win a VIP package, tickets prices have been reduced, family members are tweeting how great the rehearsals are going, some performing artists are saying how great the show will be, tickets sales are still minimal, and we are waiting for the concert to go away.

Is this a major network broadcast channel?

Never thought I'd want something to have a low rating relative to my man! Hate Global is getting to profit off MJ in any regard.

It's not a major channel, but everybody can watch this channel in France, it's like the Free view channels for the english. So everybody can watch it for free.

That explains where the money is coming from anyway....if they have sold the broadcast rights already. (As well as the rights to view in cinema chains etc). I can't imagine they'll broadcast in the UK....unless they really want to massively annoy people who spent £ hundreds on tickets.

Wonder if they'll show much of the audience on screen? Wonder if there'll be much of an audience to show on screen?

So this means they got permission to broadcast, or is it still as Hunt says that in Europe he does not need permission from the estate? Now that they inform people it would be broadcasted, there will be less need to buy tickets, unless they have a way to prevent it from being on utube.

That name alexandra burke sounds famailar to me but for the life of me i cant remember where i have heard that name from.
