MJ Forever Tribute/ MJJC Statement / Estate statement / Fan letter pg51/ GLE put on administration

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

For most of the video, Jackie and Tito have such sad eyes. (can't see Marlon properly)...they just seem like 3 guys making the best of a bad situation to me...I think they are doing this for Katherine. They'd clearly rather have MJ back than be doing this concert...it will just remind them (again, but more forcefully) of how much they have lost.

It will remind them that they are nothing without Michael.

( I think the concert will be incredibly hard for them, emotionally).

I agree and Marlon said they are doing it becuase their Mom asked them to and they couldnt refuse that.
I dont support a tribute at this time. But I hope it turns out as a beautiful tribute to their Brother Michael.
Like some I wish no ill will on the Jackson's even though some of them have royally pissed me off with
thier actions. Its very SAD they didnt wait and do it right so they could have support of the fanbase.
Now they have to just go forward and make the best of it.

Regardless I hope it is a success for Michael's sake

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I am actually quite suprised that this is not cancelled yet. Maybe they just want to save faces. I guess maybe they will just give out free tickets to fill the stadium. What a mess.............It's really sad to watch all these day by day.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

This whole thing needed to have been planned right, period.....and it has'nt been.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I hope it gonna be a mess, a shame for the Jackson$, a horror with X factors apprentice futur has been never was in a empty stadium.
There are still seats available everywhere in the stadium.

I just checked again, one of my cousin and one of my brother checked too, and we could buy as many tickets as we wanted

There will be a huge echo in the stadium

The bolded part....that really IS VERY sad....they may not even want to do it...or BE READY to do it...and of course if their mother has put them on the spot and asked them to do it...of course they wont be able to say no...after all SHE is their mother and they want to make her happy.. Sad...Sad

Thunder I have a little different slant to this^^. I think that if it was initially their mother's idea, that she had set this up and after it was a done deal, she came to them, then yes, I would agree that they went along to help their mom because there was nothing more they could do. The deal was done; she is their mom and they want to support her.

However, in the back of my head I feel this was not initially a Katherine idea or plan, but someone else who approached her to lend her name to give the event more credibility. In this scenario, the sons know that it was not her idea and should say, look mom, these guys are not the best to handle this event and it is not the right time. Let's see how we can get your name out of it, or lets not add any more Jacksons to it until we have this sorted out. As we know it was Latoya and her team who came up with this, so no I do not think the sons are there just to support their mother. Mother did not plan this.

I think their demeanor comes from the knowledge that there is a negative aspect associated with the event and they are caught up in the middle of it. I agree that they are also sad because they miss their brother and performing his songs will make that void more apparent.

Personally until I get concrete evidence to the latter, I will always think that Katherine did not get up one morning and decide to make a tribute, call GLE, decide to send out invitations, and do TV ads with a guy she did not know. No. Someone came to Katherine and used the love of her son to make her go along with this, so I cannot and will not feel sad for the sons. I have empathy for their feeling of grief because I know they love their brother and I like the 3 of them. However, I want them to be men and start taking care of their mother's interests.

I TOTALLY agree with you..I dont think that this was initially Katherine's Idea either...I to think that somehow she got roped into it too. I think that whoever introduced this idea to her made it sound like a really good Idea to her....she probably heard the words,,,"paying tribute to Michael". and she loved the idea...without exactly knowing all the details...remember when we seen her give that press conference? She didnt even know the mans name that was hosting this. They had to tell her. BY NO means am I even trying to give her a pass on this...you know my opinion VERY clearly about her and her ways. I think that she doesnt know ENOUGH and I think now that I have seen the 3 in the tape .Tito.Marlon and Jackie say that Mother asked us to participate....I agree I think they are in way to deep now to turn back and that they want to make her happy. I also agree..that THEY need to step up and act like the grown men that they are and help to start taking care of her....and themselves..financially. Michael left HER and his children financially set...he did that out of love for her. The rest...as we have stated..need to step up and take care of themselves I have no doubt in my mind that they miss Michael...losing a sibling is pure hell...you never recover from it,..especially in the way that Michael died. In all of this I just wish that they would of waited on this thing and got backing from the estate,,,,because these GLE clowns KNOW NOTHING about Michael and WHO he would of wanted to pay tribute to him...as we have said ...if NOT for us fans protesting about ALOT of this thing,,,,,Lord knows who else would be on that stage paying tribute to Michael. I just just wish this whole thing was over already...really I do..:(

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Maybe Latoya will be the lead singer.

:nono:

:fear:

And I have a suggestion for GLE: fill unsold seats with fake crowd.

:D

Great idea!

Just in case Stella has trouble adding a pic, I took a quick shot too.....
This looks like the same ad as in the metro a couple of days ago.
Edit: Yes, as far as I can see it is exactly the same ad as in the metro dated 14th September 11.

Will somebody please send this to the Estate. This a blatant copyright infringement.
They must have some serious backers to be able to carry on with this still.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Yes Thunder I am with you on that ^^. Now we really have only about 3 weeks, so this will be over soon. I saw Majestic on Friday and forgot to ask him about the tribute and no one mentioned it.

Was anyone able to get a response from the online team about the concert in the cinemas?

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

18 days to go and still no "Sold Out" announcement???????

Michael could sell out a concert in less then 18 seconds!!!!!

Maybe it will be sold out when the galaxy of international stars are booked!!!!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I've checked for tickets at a number of price levels for 8 seats together and had no problem. This is really sad. Michael deserves better.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Excatly they are grown men who should be able to say no if that is really want they wanna do

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Every day I log onto this forum expecting to see the cancellation announcement and wonder what reason they're going to give, but every day I am amazed that this is still going ahead, even with only a fraction of tickets sold. How on Earth are these people going to get rid of those last 60,000 to 70,000 tickets?!?! They can't go be serious about going ahead with this concert with such a small audience can they?? It'll be the smallest gathering the Stadium has ever seen! At this moment I can't imagine any advertising slot or publicity stunt will sell the tickets - except perhaps a slot during X Factor and I don't think GLE's funds will stretch to that cost, and anyway I'm sure those slots are fully booked a year in advance. They have tried full pages adverts (as well as smaller ads) in most of the UK national papers already and that hasn't worked. If they give out free tickets I might be tempted to go along, but I won't pay.
This is a sad situation to be in. Sad for his mother who probably doesn't realise it's this bad, sad for his children who probably already checked the forums/ticketmaster themselves and know the tickets aren't selling (and may have to turn up to a mostly empty stadium), and it's terrible for the MJ legacy which could be damaged by what appears to be total abandonment by his fans and by the general public...

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I'm sorry to say that but if this circus was Katherine's idea and the Jacksons couldn't say no to her it's tragic. How many times Michael was forced to do things with his brothers just because his mother asked him to participate? The Pepsi commercial, Victory Tour, 30th Anniversary appearance with the J5 and so on!!! She has to stop, Michael suffered so as not to let her down. She has to cancel this shame herself!!!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

There is a strange snippet in the metro today ( under 'The Green Room' on page 11....I can't find it online, just in the paper version). it says:
'Jermaine Jackson hopes to land a really big name for his tribute concert to brother Michael. 'It's all top secret but it's happening' he said. 'David Gest maybe?' ( The last bit is the journalist being sarcastic)

There is so much odd about this I don't know where to begin...obv. not Jermaine's concert, not involved, D Gest not a performer ( can't imagine him dancing or singing!!) .....Is this mention by Jermaine just 'last gasp' PR or is there really another potential big name out there waiting to join the lineup. They are leaving it VERY late to announce any major 'draws' to bring the general public in. I thought Jermaine was too busy doing book signings in NY to be doing any PR for this tribute.

Oh and postscript on the Katherine / GLE background....I had understood that GLE suggested this tribute to the family after making the TV documentary ...I 'read between the lines' that LT and her team were probably very keen, persuaded Katherine and then Jackie Tito and Marlon joined in for Katherine's sake.
If they really thought the trial would be over by June / July, and GLE really financially could not move the date at the Cardiff stadium ( perhaps they had to put down a massive financial deposit...I dunno?) , they may all be in a scenario they simply didn't envisage and could not change. And GLE messed up big time.

Maybe Jermaine is going to do his own tribute... maybe. It doesn't sound like they are talking about this one.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I'm wondering when, and how, this is actually going to END? It would be a major embarrassment, not to mention financial loss, if they went ahead with it in a nearly empty stadium? But, if they cancel, what spin can they possibly put on it, other than, well. . I don't know WHAT spin they could put on it? I'm sure a lot of money has already been committed and spent. It will be EMBARRASSING to have DVDs for sale, and movie theaters showing it, with CRICKETS in the stadium?

Don't be surprised if they go ahead with this.

They want to be defiant...knowing if they do cancel, it will be very hard for them to come back with another project.

Even the movie theaters...there is no way this is gonna attract a crowd.

Hopefully, the Cirque premiere will be big enough to keep people / media talking and forgetting that other epic disaster.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Terrible for the Jacksons and their future schemes....not for MJ's legacy.

EXACTLY!!! This has no bearing on the legacy of Michael or the idea that fans abandon him. All the people have to do is compare the rush for tickets for the Cirque show and the increase in his fortune so far, to know that the flop of the concert is not an indication of fans abandoning him. For someone's legacy to grow after their death means they have not been abandoned by fans.

The flop of this concert only shows, people are not interested in the artists who are performing, the timing is wrong, they heard negative stories about it, they have no money, many Michael fans won't go to insignificant shows, or they don't trust the people organizing it.

Sums it all up perfectly.

Hopefully, the abandonment from this debacle will be folks like Global and Mann will FINALLY get the message that MJ's fans aren't ripe for the picking because another Jackson is attached to their projects, be it Katherine, Joe, the brothers, etc. And they don't start these projects in the first place.

MJ had the utmost respect for his fans, that hasn't been shown by these tribute organizers at all, and no one is fooled by their PR driven conference calls.

POOR GLOBAL LIVE!

Now I'm no concert promoter, but things must not be too good, since they have just NOW begun a "give-away-contest." I mean, USUALLY the free ticket give-aways are announced in the very beginning, not towards the end. (Reminds me of Jermaine's Vegas show.)

They announced the "text-to-win" in the very beginning, now weeks later, we see MORE give-aways.

I wonder which team member has the biggest headache, because this entire fiasco must definitely have some Global Live head's spinning in agony.
