MJ Forever Tribute/ MJJC Statement / Estate statement / Fan letter pg51/ GLE put on administration

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Aren't Black Eye Peas and Hudson feeling slighted because they were added as an after thought. I mean, this thing was supposed to have a galaxy of stars since August. They enter at the end of September, so it seems to me a last minute invitation as GLE searches for artists to fill the 4 hours. Why would they accept such a thing, unless they have no pride in themselves and their art.

True, but I think we also should take a bow and feel proud.

Because of us, a clear message was delivered that Michael Jackson fans cannot be taken for granted.

Because of us, a blatant attempt to make a quick buck off of MJ and us became a struggle. There was no “quickly, very quickly” success here. Global has had to WORK hard! Very hard.

Because of us, MJ fans are not being financially abused. Let’s not forget, not only were the initial ticket prices exorbitant, but first consideration was being given to those who made a charitable donation on TOP of the exorbitant price.

Because of us, prices were slashed.

Because of us, Global continued to pursue big names. No way would they have worked to secure better known artists if the list they first announced was accepted. It wouldn’t have been necessary.

Because of us, attendees will see headliners LIVE like the Blackeye Peas, Jennifer Hudson, Neyo, Christina Aquillera, Cee Lo ALL ON THE SAME bill, and in some cases for as little as 30 pounds. That's unheard of.

Because of us, Gene Simmons didn’t get to further publicly spit on MJ’s legacy by actually appearing on a stage supposedly honoring him. Can you actually see Latoya or the real true nephew raising the kind of stink we did that eventually got GS’ disgusting butt kicked to the curb. That was all because of us.

We made a difference.

Many fans might be boycotting this concert, but we’ve made it a better show for those that want to see it. That’s something Michael always did. Made a show the very best it could be.

Besides, we have the wondrous Cirque to look forward to, which will make this concert a blip on the radar in comparison, no matter whose performing.

Michael always could lift my spirits. What we managed to accomplish here should give us a spirit lift too. We might not have gotten exactly what we wanted, but neither has Global.

Without a doubt, MJ fans are the very best!

L.O.V.E. for the King and you.

As much as I hate to admit it, them getting the Black Eyed Peas is a pretty big deal.. They're huge, with huge hits, with huge spectacle shows..

I'll def be watching the show, just cause it all about MJ, good or bad..

Who knows.. I wonder if Will.I.Am will play a lil snippet of his work with MJ.. Doubt it but it'd be keel!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Well said^^ U guys really did make an impact on what this affair started from and where it is at present. Who knows...maybe these stars heard your complaints and pitched in to make this tribute more honerable for Mike's sake. After all, many of them are fans too. I agree with Ivy as well. It is time to focus our attention on this trial. Consider the tribute issue a battle well fought and won! :)

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Watch the show from where? You going?

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Well I hace to say my resistance to this concert is diminished slightly. At the very beginning I said that they should get artists including Black Eyed Peas, JLS, NeYo, Beyonce and others. Well, they have done it (Beyonce only just counts). My beef was never with the timing - I see it as a potentially positive news item during the swarm of negativity that the trial will produce - but the organisation of the event. While the organisation has been terrible (they should have started earlier and secured the big talent before announcing the concert, not to mention the KISS fiasco) the colleciton of artists performing is no longer awful. There are some global stars there, and from a UK perspective it is better than for the foreign fans probably because artists like Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis, Pixie Lott and Cee Lo Green have been very big here. Again from a UK perspective, if we count the really good artists up there are IMO 9(!) big artists performing, including Xtina because she was huge in the past and is onthat very successful Maroon 5 track at the moment. I haven't included 3T or 'The Jackson Brothers' in that tally. Sure there are many other global superstars who could be added but I would feel hypocritical and overly harsh if I criticised the artists list in its current state.

So that leaves me with a dilemma. Do I now buy tickets or not? I'm not sure. In fact I'm not going to go to Cardiff, that's for certain. It's too far. If it had been in London (my other criticism was the choice of venue) than I would now definitely go. I might buy a cinema ticket but the nearest cinema showing it is Vue in Portsmouth AFAIK and that's an hours drive away. So far they have sold NO tickets, so at least I would have the show to myself...

As far as I am concerned, I will NEVER support projects that have not been endorsed by the Estate. I don't care whether the Jack$on$ support them or not. They are NOT representatives of the MJ Estate.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

They could add the biggest stars and best singers to their line up, it wouldnt change all that is wrong with that concert. It would not erase the disrespect and lies, the obvious ignorance of who Michael was, the shady areas, people and connections. It wouldnt change the fact that Michael's kids are in the t&c.

But I agree with Ivy. They can go ahead and have their concert, I dont care anymore. We won this by exposing their scheme, that's all I expected. I got more important things to think about now.

This has been my position since MJ passed. He is the only one I've ever supported. So for me, it'll be status quo.

Passy001. They could shut then down by refusing to help, but they haven't. By allowing the use of MJs image, songs etc the Estate are passively endorsing this event IMO. Anyway, everybody has their own opinion

Good Point. I could not care less whether a Black Eyed Peas or any other color Peas is attached to this thing or not. I still have problems with everything done by, written by, and said by GLE, plus the fact that this is a money making scheme and not a true tribute. Now that they give us a little bone in the form of Black Eyed Peas, we are supposed to jump up and wag our tail like a little dog given a bone. My integrity of how a Michael tribute should be created is too sophisticated to be excited by a little bone.

I say have fun to all those who will attend, watch it on utube, or the cinema.

I think Ivy is right that on the 27th our attention will be on Justice

How is releasing a statement that they are not involved a passive endorsement?

Like Ivy stated, we fought the good fight...

Yeap pretty much agree. they could announce all the biggest stars in the world but it would make no difference as its still a money making scam by the family and the promoters.they have still treated the fans lije shit its still in the middle of the trial etc etc. the families actions make me sick and theres no way im giving them a single £ after what they have done to mj over the last two years.

Agreed, it doesn't matter who they line up now, everything about this non-tribute has been wrong and I am not going to reward the organisers by lining their pockets. Don't forget, if we hadnt kicked up a stink simmons would most likely still be allowed to p*ss on Michael's grave...... opps I mean perform.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I'll watch it if it's on tv (or YouTube) but I'm not paying any kind of money to view it..

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

It was just advertised on tv in the uk, first comercial break during x.facter, they announced all x.facter winners taking part but I did'nt hear any big stars mentioned, just n 'many many more'.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I missed that. If they don't sell out now after announcing the b.e.ps and after advertising on x factor they never will.

bobmoo79, just to clarify, the x.factor didn't advertise the concert, It was a comercial break.

I think thats a premium advertising slot...still throwing money at this thing then....! I'm surprised its not cheaper to give tickets away than to advertise like this.

^^^^^^I'm wondering about that,

How does one find the cash for such expensive advertising when it is supposed to be a charity concert???

I wonder how much of the estate allowance money is being put into this????

The Black Eyed Peas announcement actually surprised me.......especially with Will-I-Am saying the Michael album disrespects MJ (got a point there)!!!!.........but isn't this concert disrespecting MJ???..........I guess BEP are getting desperate since their most recent album flopped!!!

Also, I've been looking at Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Forever_–_The_Tribute_Concert and there is no mention of the Kiss fiasco??????

Maybe the artists pay is $2,000, 1st class air fare, and an OK hotel. With all these expenses GLE can't be paying them that much.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Did anybody record the commercial?

it will not sell out. The stigma of the past 2 months is unsurmountable. I really believe that....

On the other hand, I am glad they are desperate enough to spend money advertising on X-factor. That is major news.

If I had money I would buy a spot right after their ad, asking people to stay away.

Elusive, can you check tickets now after BEP & XFactor?

Xfactor is a flop here in the US..it premiered this week to underwhelming ratings.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

why do people always ask elusive to check tickets when they can just as easily do it themselves??

Also, X Factor USA was 2nd in the TV ratings wasn't it? Hardly a flop.
