Michael Jackson Tribute Concert Now Pay-Per-View on Facebook

Can't make it to Cardiff, Wales for the Michael Jackson tribute concert on Oct. 8? Facebook has it covered.

Milyoni, which calls itself a leader in "F-commerce" or Facebook commerce, is teaming with Ridgeline Entertainment to broadcast the show online via Facebook. The live broadcast, scheduled for Oct. 8, will cost $3.99 via PayPal or $4.99 the day of the show. Unsurprisingly, users can also pay the equivalent amount via Facebook Credits, either 40 Credits in advance or 50 the day of the show.

That's significantly cheaper than the prices being offered for actually showing up, which range from 55 pounds for general admission (via the official site) to 95 pounds for the "golden circle" in front of the stage. And, of course, there are the hospitality packages for over 4,700 pounds, spread across a dozen guests.
The Michael Jackson tribute concert will be broadcast live on October 8 via Facebook from the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales using Milyoni's Social Live technology. It will begin at 10 AM PT, and feature cameras which are situated to give a "front row seat" like experience, with multiple shots and angles, according to a Milyoni representative.

It's noteworthy that the concert is also being characterized as an app, the same category that a Warner Bros. show, "Aim High," is. Produced by McG, the show will allow a user who opts in to be digitally inserted into the show as background materials, along with friends.

After the first week of trial, I totally don't understand why, why now? And will they really be able to enjoy the show? I think they must miss at least Friday's hearing* to make it to the UK... ?

Oh God, Toya singing Earth Song or Remember the Times. My ears are cringing just thinking about, especially Earth Song. You need to have strong vocals with a wide range to touch that song and it took four top singers today to do it justice at the 2010 Grammies. Toya vocals are weaker than Janet's, there's no way on Gods' green earth she could do Earth Song. Remember the Times is also bad just because I can imagine Toya sounding like a dying cat trying to sing it.

Also, yest it's very bad for Toya to be just deciding now. I especially since she has no kind of experience singing to a 'big' audience.

You have to buy it through Facebook for access to the live stream. Urgh I hate this, Michael deserves sooooo much better than this.

yes I agree,,,,Toya needs to step back from "Earth Song" way to big for her range..not only that,,,but the song has Michael written all over it...HE is the ONLY one imo...that could EVER do that song any justice, Why doesn't she stick to something she knows.??..Like the another poster said..."money".....that seems to fit. :(

IMO, If La Toya wanna do something right she'll sing Night Time Lover. Michael produced this song, co-wrote with her and also sang vocals on the chorus.

Especially earth song, she is never a good singer and even a good singer can hardly sing earth song good.
Please leave these song alone. This is horrible to image.

"Night Time Lover" to me is her best song and it has MJ in it! lol Why don't she sing "HOME" that MJ tribute song she did and don't touch non of his actual songs. Sounds good to me! lol It's just so annoying that all of a sudden the Jacksons who hadn't have singing careers in yrs (besides Tito) want to jump on stage and the new generation too. But, why not when he was still living? Doing it now just doesn't look right!

SO will anybody be able to capture/record the video feed from the live Facebook stream on 8th October? I'm sure it would be interesting for some people (even those who don't want to attend the concert) to see how the show goes.

She's not actually singing the song. She only going 'awwww' and 'what about us'. There are number of other people singing Michael's part, which only proved what I said before. You either need a person with a wide range and strong vocals to sing Earth Song or several top vocalist to carry different parts. Toya isn't one of them.

Actually, I think it's a very good rendition and one of the singers were really good. Toya hardly sings and is kind of there.
