that sounds like a liar to me. It was just yesterday that they were defending the ticket prices to us saying that it was appropriate for a event like this.

but of course they would have a short term memory loss or blame their lawyers or one of 200 people working on the tribute for their now changing tune :p I ain't buying it.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

delighted my ass. more like we're in distress

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I almost feel bad for them. They are trying so damn hard to sell those tickets and it's embarrassing to watch.

as bungling co-ordinators started selling tickets on a buy-one-get-one-free (BOGOF) basis in an attempt to shift some of the 75,000 tickets on sale for the concert.

The move will surely upset fans who have already forked out hundreds of pounds for tickets only to see the same tickets now effectively selling for half the price of just days previous. It’ll also stoke rumours that the concerts ticket sales have been poor, as the organisers try to raise their revenues needed before the show, scheduled for October 8th in Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

^OMG! That's so embarrASSing! :rollin:

I do not know what to say. It's getting increasingly worse. It is still unbelievable to me that this crap will be performed and worse, that tickets were sold. Shame! This tribute will be so shameful that will go down in history. I can already imagine the comments from the press when that crap happens... :fear:

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

It's not dieter wiesner. It's Ron Weisner who had managed Jacksons and Micheal between 1978 and 1983.
Thanks for the correction. I see wiesner and I see "dark spots" before my eyes. Now isn't it typical of them to get someone the Jacksons used way before--more evidence to see this is a Jackson 4 production.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Playing catch up, always a bad idea before going to bed...what a marvelous letter from GLE. Wonder how long it took someone to get just the right combination of patronizing insult and arrogant condescension. Lecturing prospective ticket buyers? Instruction on how to treat family members? Repeating the same old worn out phrases we've heard over and over. I'm so glad they took time out of their busy schedules to deign to communicate with us lesser beings. You know that they must be busy, rounding up all those international stars, deciding which Michael songs they can use, figuring out how to promote this without actually SAYING Michael Jackson, establishing trust funds for the children and Katherine and to preserve Michael's legacy...Oh, it's all the same trust fund? Silly me. Then having to contend with all those disloyal and untrue Michael fans...Why, I can't help feel sorry for poor li'l ole GLE. Ganged up on by irate fans, ticket sales that don't seem to be, well, selling. Two for one offers, or maybe not... Yep, it sure makes me want to support this once in a lifetime event.
I can't believe a professional organisation would behave like this. Especially one that is trying to get your money. It just gets worse and worse the more damage control they try. They need to quit while they are behind. I wish they would take Michael's name off of this completely. Maybe we could come up with a new name for it...the Jackson Family Forever Looking for Money Tribute.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

^^We could call it the Jackson Last Tribute Show. I wonder how long it will take them to offer: "refer a friend and you get 50 pounds." Love when the gimmicks appear; lets you know the fan boycott is working!!!!! At least we will have the satisfaction of knowing: we crippled their show, we got them mad, we showed their greed, they now know we mean business, they will be careful when they use the words "true fans" again.

Now lets see how sales go now that they reduced the prices. Why don't they just do this concert in the school gym or auditorium. They could surely fill that up and lower the price to 5 pounds.

yes I wouldn't be suprised either. I think Taj better shut his mouth while he is ahead...he has caused enough of a stir with his opinion of fans, Cant they see that people are DONE with this family. Hey they made it this way. We have seen and heard all the wrong things from that family since June 25th.

Taj and his family don't seem to realize that Michael's fan love, respect and still admire him because he earned it and that doesn't extend to Michael's family. They haven't done anything to show some respect to Michael's memory or his fans. Taj's tweeter was a sign of frustration and that makes me feel good. Probably now they're in more need of money than they were before they started this tribute nonsense. Sooner or later they have to pay for their actions.

MJJC is being attacked directly on the facebook wall of this farce. i just copied the following comment from there. Thought the mods would want to know so that you can address it.

Shut up "MJJ community" you are the idiots that kept on blocking me (and everybody else) just because I said that certain tracks from the new album are fakes. you supported this bogus album ("Michael") and now you picking on GLE?! okay so I agree maybe the tribute is not respectful as it should be and I believe that the the greatest entertainer in all time deserve a much better line up, but you didn't raised your voice than so don't raise your voice now. hypocrites

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Every time people bring up "Michael loved his mother" card it feels a guilt trip now. Yes he did but that doesn't mean we support everything she does because we don't agree with her on this one. She and his kids are not financially in trouble. The estate takes care of them and they have nothing to worry about. Anyone like Latoya especially saying otherwise is just plain lying. Katherine is doing this to get money for the rest of the family and using Michael to do it. I believe she loves Michael but she needs to stop getting him to take care of the whole Jackson family. It wasn't and still is not his responsibility. People wonder why he left the family out of the will. It was like he was the parent taking care everyone. When will this stop? She needs to let her grown children fend for themselves and solve their own problems.

Jackson fans angry at tribute concert price cuts
Thu Sep 8, 2011 8:36pm EDT

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Michael Jackson fans were up in arms on Thursday over reports that promoters of a planned tribute concert had slashed ticket prices and apparently offered 2-for-1 ticket deals to the October event.

The furor on Jackson fan website and a Facebook page was the latest setback for organizers a month ahead of what was planned as a glorious tribute to the "Thriller" singer.

On Facebook, a group called Fans against Michael Forever Tribute posted a link and screenshot of a Ticketmaster UK website running a "buy 1 get 1 free" promotion that is bookable starting on September 16. According to the posting, the offer would not apply to tickets already purchased for the October 8 "Michael Forever" concert in Cardiff, Wales.

Fan site www.mjstar.co.uk reported that ticket holders had received a message from promoters announcing prices had been slashed by up to 50 percent.

Organizers Global Live Events did not immediately return calls for comment on Thursday.

The Ticketmaster website also stated that R&B singer Beyonce will be "making a special contribution on video" to the concert. Promoters had earlier said that Beyonce would be contributing a song via satellite.

Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Leona Lewis, Smokey Robinson and Ne-Yo are among singers giving live performances at the sports stadium venue in Cardiff, which has about 75,000 seats. Tickets went on general sale on August 24 at the end of an advance registration period.

The reported ticket deals were the latest sign of problems for the promoters. A group of 35 Michael Jackson fan clubs from around the world called in August for the tribute to be canceled, citing confusion over charitable donations, high ticket prices, and a swiftly withdrawn invitation to Jackson critic Gene Simmons and his rock band Kiss.

The "Michael Forever Tribute" is backed by the "Thriller" singer's mother and several of her children, but not by Jackson brothers Randy and Jermaine.

Michael's sister Janet Jackson has said she will not attend because the concert coincides with the trial in Los Angeles of the pop star's personal doctor, who is accused of involuntary manslaughter in his death in June 2009. Jury selection in that trial began on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Earlier this week, Tito and Rebbie Jackson unveiled a rival singing and spoken word tribute show to their brother on Monday that will tour Britain starting in March 2012.

Jackson, 50, died in Los Angeles on June 25, 2009 of an overdose of the anesthetic propofol, just weeks ahead of a series of planned comeback concerts in London.

Some people really needs Money

Without the fans they can't do nothing. Lol @ Taj, he must be pissed right now!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Rebbie doing a tribute, so she needs money too. Gee if Michael did not die, we would not hear about so many Jacksons singing again and touring. How do these people feel when they are using their brother's death to make money? There is something so creepy about all of this.

Beyonce Pulls Out Of Live Satellite Performance At Michael Jackson Tribute Concert
Posted on Sep 09, 2011 @ 06:20AM

By Jen Heger - Radar Legal Editor

The Michael Jackson Tribute concert in Cardiff, Wales, will not be featuring a live satellite performance by Beyonce as originally promised, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Concert promoters had earlier stated that the pregnant singer would be performing via satellite, but on the Ticketmaster website for the event, Beyonce is now listed as making "a special contribution on video."

"Beyonce won't be performing a song live via satellite for the tribute concert now," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.

The tribute concert also won't be attended by Janet, Randy or Jermaine Jackson because the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, who is charged in the death of Michael, will be going on at the same time.

However, Katherine Jackson has said she will attend the concert, along with Michael's children, and LaToya fully supports the show and will also be there.

Creating more controversy, Michael Jackson fans are outraged that promoters are now offering 2-for-1 deals for tickets.

Fans that already bought tickets for the October 8 show at the 75,000 seat arena, won’t qualify for the deal.

Performers slated to perform are Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Leona Lewis, and Ne-Yo.

Ticket prices range from $55-450 with a service and processing fee of $20.

Concert promoter Global Live Events didn't immediately respond to request for comment on the story.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

So the "via satellite" became a "a video contribution"? These people should be ashamed.
