yes I wouldn't be suprised either. I think Taj better shut his mouth while he is ahead...he has caused enough of a stir with his opinion of fans, Cant they see that people are DONE with this family. Hey they made it this way. We have seen and heard all the wrong things from that family since June 25th.

Got back from a holiday in hopeful expectation that this concert would be cancelled amid vicious recriminations and lawsuits between gl and the jacksons. Been reading all the conf calls and letters (great questions and follow ups, mj fans know their stuff). The last letter to fanclubs was a classic. You can just tell GL are at their wit's end with mj fans when they have to resort to saying that MJ loved his mother and was close to latoya (wtf??).

Anyway with the ticket prices being slashed and newspaper advertising having to be taken out, this must all mess with their budget. If even after their shockingly insulting treatment of the estate (completely ignoring them and then throwing shade on how mj set up his will and trust and how it excludes his mother and delays ppb's inheritance, what on earth has it to do with them??) they are still having to 'prepare to reach out' to ask for their cooperation re copyrights then it must be to do with tv broadcasting rights or a dvd film (a disaster movie or maybe a public info film on how not to put on a concert) which the estate def hold permission for. Their business model must be dependent on these extra revenue streams so if permission can be denied that would be it for GL hopefully.

So when GL do their reaching out to the estate, I hope the estate tells them to shove it.

I dont think the estate would touch this money grabber with a 10 foot poll now. GLE has already insulted Michael with that Kiss fiasco....and not even saying the damage that their rants on the fans have caused. Even if the estate now came to the rescue...I dont think fans would go. To much has been said and done at this point.

Train wreck, sinking ship (with no paddle, to mix metaphors), etc.

Technically, they could have offered two-for-one, but in terms of PR .. . NOT! If one buys a sweater at a store for full price, and the next day they go on sale for half-price, nothing one can do about it -- except to be disgruntled. I'd say most fans' "disgruntlement" is extreme, now?

It's funny how reality shifts? First, the trust-fund was "for the children." Then, and oops! it was to "help Katherine." And now? To preserve "the legacy." Uhm, ok?

This is far beyond the possibility of damage-control now. And that grinding sound we hear? Fans' gears shifting. This is DAY ONE of jury selection. You know? Conrad Murray?

Apparently it's IMPOSSIBLE to accept with the tone and wordings used in the letter! Did they really want to convince fans to buy ticket? Or they actually try to ensure that no MJ fans will present in the show so they can avoid dealing with fans anymore...maybe they are hopping fans of those "superstars" will fill up the seats.

Michael’s mother chooses to honour her son. That’s it. Michael worshipped his mother and was very close to La Toya. His fans should respect that bond

I think even with a good intention it cannot justify all the horrible arrangments of this "tribute". Also Michael worship Katherine but I only worship Michael. It truly annoys me a lot that these people always put an "=" between Michael and Katherine or other Jacksons. I respect Michael's love for his mother but it doesn't mean that I MUST agree with his mother for ALL her action and decision. She maybe a Saint to Michael but not to me and so I will still respectfully disagree with her if I think she makes unwise decision. For La Toya...I've no comment...the "bond" maybe exsist 30 years ago.

The estate should stay as far away from this as possible. These people made their mess and they have to lie in it. You can't expect people to buy tickets when you insult the buyer. They need us and they need the estate but they were too arrogant to think we would just accept anything because they use the words "Michael Jackson" to us. We loved Michael the person. Not just the music and all that. This is not the kind of tribute he deserves. Now with the trial coming my attention will be on that.

I'm sure I remember suggesting that they might try a BOGOF ticket offer some pages back....I hope they didn't take me seriously...It was a JOKE, guys, (like them!)

This debacle deserves to be taught in 'concert promotion 101' as a truly epic example of how NOT to do it.

Its only a bogoff offer on t.m cause they are still selling at the original price.tickets on the offical site are half price.so if ppl are complaining about the bogoff they should be moaning about the prices on the offical site aswell

Someone has commented on the Golden circle tickets being reduced by £100!!!!!!! So they seem to be aware.
 
TRIBUTE PROMOTER'S LETTER 'CONDESCENDING AND INSULTING', SAYS MJ COMMUNITY

Angry MJ fans have deemed a letter from Global Live Events to the members of the MJ Community as ‘condescending and insulting’ after they replied to concerns aired by MJ fan forums.

The letter, written by GLE's tributer producer Andy Picheta, individually addressed concerns felt by fans that have made it publicly known that they are against the concert. Picheta claimed that their concert will be “the only multi-artist, family led, pure Michael tribute that will ever take place” – but they fans believe the artists they have scheduled are a cause of concern, and that the tribute is not completely family led – Randy and Jermaine have opposed the concert since the start and various members of the Jackson family have become embroiled in the conflict surround it.

GLE have also come under scrutiny after they attempted to define what a ‘true MJ fan’ was – infuriating the members of MJ Community, who see themselves as the true fans. The letter, though, isn’t the only thing which has outraged fans – as bungling co-ordinators started selling tickets on a buy-one-get-one-free (BOGOF) basis in an attempt to shift some of the 75,000 tickets on sale for the concert.

The move will surely upset fans who have already forked out hundreds of pounds for tickets only to see the same tickets now effectively selling for half the price of just days previous. It’ll also stoke rumours that the concerts ticket sales have been poor, as the organisers try to raise their revenues needed before the show, scheduled for October 8th in Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

Fans on the M4Tribute Facebook page for the concert are particularly unhappy and have been posting messages reminding the organisers of previous MJ concerts that sold-out in minutes and broke ticket records – including a gig on September 7th 2001 (ten years ago yesterday) which sold out Madison Square in just 30 minutes.

The news comes after more bookings were announced for the show, including the not-so-renowned Tommy Organ, who played guitar on the This Is It tour and the more justifiable hiring of soul singer Gladys Knight.

I just assumed the BOGOF offer would apply retrospectively, after all didn't GL say that ticket monies are held in a separate account for the time being so it would just mean having to return 50% of all payments received so far. They couldn't possibly expect to get away with treating those eager, impossibly-optimistic suckers, sorry customers who patiently waited for the countdown clock to get to zero and then pre-registered with a huge charity pledge so they would be extra sure of securing a seat, in such a bad way. Actually thinking about how they've handled the farce so far, they probably thought they could.

Anyway, with the trial starting or as latoya calls it in interviews, 'a sideshow', i really hope the estate denies all GL requests and the tribute meets an ignominous end.

I am wondering if the estate has been contacted yet? They obviously thought they could put this together without them and now realize they can't. I am certain the MJ estate will never cooperate here. They want to keep the fans on their side!!!
