Funny thing is Latoya in her book said that for example in the last years she hadn't seen Michael after the 2005 trial until May 2009 family get together. She also wrote that she didn't directly talked with him. That's a 4 year gap that she hadn't seen or talked to Michael. Is that what they want us to believe being "close"? yeah right keep dreaming.

Thanks, Ivy, for the info. Whatever else this is, for the entertainment industry, this is INCREDIBLY unprofessional! I have never, ever, before heard of a situation like it, where the promoter has produced such ire among potential concert goers, and then tries to take an adversarial approach? Anyone? You see a concert advertised, you buy tickets, and then go to the concert with great anticipation. That's how it usually goes? There is usually NO "back-story," at all. This is bordering on. . . . nuts?

Taking a step back, in terms of the ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, don't people buy tickets because they expect an evening of ENJOYMENT? Of... joy? That certainly was the case with Michael's concerts? The JOY FACTOR? This whole event is so burdened with drama now, probably the only people who would enjoy it would be those who happen to wander in off the street, and know nothing of the back-story. The more that GLE argues and wrangles, the worse it gets, and the LESS the potential "enjoyment factor?"

Quite incredible really. Personally? The TRIAL is coming up, and that's where my focus will be. Whatever else happens, will happen . .

GLE's Letter to members of the MJ Fan Community


Thank you for the opportunity to send a message to Michael’s fans though your club. I know the fans have a number of concerns, most of which were highlighted in Mr Weitzman’s open letter to Chris Hunt. Others have come to the fore since, and I will discuss these also. I have been talking to a number of fan club presidents, and although the emphasis has been different, the core issues are clear.

Equally, our endeavours are clear also: We are presenting the Jackson family tribute to Michael. We have artists of international stature, or with meaningful links to Michael’s music, or both. Together with Christina Aguilera, Ne-Yo and Cee Lo Green, we have performers who have sympathetically and successfully presented Michael’s material – Craig David, Alien Ant Farm. We have young stars who humbly acknowledge inspiration by Michael; JLS, Leona Lewis, Pixie Lott, and Motown legends Smokey Robinson and Gladys Knight who in turn inspired Michael. Attending are Mrs Jackson and the children, siblings La Toya, Tito, Marlon and Jackie, and nephews Siggy, Taj, Taryll and TJ. Ron Weisner, Michael’s ex manager, is the creative producer, ensuring the presentation and performances are of Michael. Kevin Dorsey, who worked with Michael on tours Bad, Dangerous and History, is the Musical Director, working with band and singers to recreate Michael’s exact vision. We have band members of whom every one has played for Michael, either on tour or in the studio. Rehearsals have started in Los Angeles, and the vibe is one of purity of performance and responsibility to the musical legacy.

Michael Forever is the only multi-artist, family led, pure Michael tribute that will ever take place, so put aside your doubts, understand that artists and professionals of this calibre would not associate themselves with anything that was untrue to Michael, accept that we are dealing with your concerns where possible, and join us in honouring one of the world’s greatest ever musical performers while you still can.

We understand your concerns and we are addressing your worries, in the following ways:

The Estate
We have the greatest respect for the estate, the work it does continuing Michael’s legacy and the rights it owns. Until now we have been working in parallel with the estate, licencing available rights to present the show, but still working on the creative for it. The estate has not endorsed Michael Forever, and with the rights we have available, we have not sought or required such endorsement. Now that rehearsals have started, and we have a clearer idea of the shape of the event, we are preparing to reach out to the estate and seek commercial terms to licence certain rights owned by them we have identified as desirable.

The Trial
The timing is unfortunate. When we scheduled the concert in April the trial was due to start in June. It may move again yet. It may be over very quickly, or it may delay again. We believe, and the family believes, that a positive presentation of Michael’s musical genius can only be a good reminder of how great a loss was the loss of him.

Katherine Jackson
Michael’s mother chooses to honour her son. That’s it. Michael worshipped his mother and was very close to La Toya. His fans should respect that bond, and not post such unpleasantness that Taj feels he must publicly protect his grandmother on the web. No true fan of Michael would dishonour Mrs Jackson. Those that do are not deserving of anything other than our disappointment with their actions. The trust fund GLE set up in the children's name and administered by Katherine is our contribution to the family legacy. It was done openly, honourably and with our best intentions.

Other issues
Please remember that the British consumer has a huge amount of protection in English law, and the Event Terms and Conditions are written for insurers, and ours are less onerous than most others. Here's the clause from the Glastonbury festival: "2. The artist and performer line-up and all billed attractions may be subject to change at any time without notice". All purchasers also receive the standard protection offered by their credit card companies. You will see a great show, with exclusively Michael’s music performed by first class acts. The bill is still being added to, but the essence will always be Michael and his genius.

I hope these answers go some way towards explaining our position. We have a tribute worthy of Michael, presented by people passionate and dedicated to doing it right, to his family who loved him, performed by those who were inspired by him or inspired him, those who performed alongside him. We have further important announcements to make in the next few days that will prove beyond doubt that Michael Forever will be the purest most focused Michael tribute ever.

Dear Mr.Picheta,

You would be better served in taking a class in customer service. Because your letter to the members of the MJ Fan community was condescending and insulting.

The mere fact, you include in your letter a determination of who is and who is not a “TRUE FAN” is totally out of order. And quite frankly not your place, sir. The truth of the matter , any “true fan” as you put it, would have known NOT to invite Gene Simmons to any Michael Jackson Tribute event , in the first place.

It was the fan community that stood behind Michael through all his trials and tribulations. And you need to respect that . Michael did!

The fact, you hide behind Katherine Jackson is equally insulting. Stand up for yourself, Mr. Pricheta and do not use Michael’s mother as a means to attack and determine who is a “true fan”. Once again , not your place, not your right. You have done nothing to deserve that privilege.

Our issues are with you, the promoter of this event. Your timing , is once again , inappropriate. Tomorrow, begins the jury selection process in the Conrad Murray trial.

And that should be the concern of everyone who is concerned with Michael and his legacy.

I know I frequently like to give my money to people who insult me.

Autumn, you are right. They have sucked the joy right out of this.

I have to admit I would love to be a fly on the wall when they call John Branca. Wonder what their approach will be with him? I would love to see them be so confrontational with him!!!

I feel sorry for those kids that they would be told how great it is and being dragging to Cardiff.

I don't want to be rude to Jackson family but what they are doing for this 2 year is just so greedy and disrespect to MJ's wishes.

So I just learned with this new insult to the fans, that I'm not a true MJ fan.

So to be a true MJ fan I must :

- Be happy to see his kids in shit business
-Be happy and support people who think and say publicly that Mike is A PEDO.
-Be happy to see people trash his legacy.

I'm proud to not be a " true MJ fan " so.

Of all the nerve!!! They still have not gotten any approval from the Estate. They have the gall to talk about Michael fans. Who are they? They have no relationship with Michael so they cannot define us. The only person who can define us is dead. We are not working for Katherine. If she wants to put on a tribute with GLE, fine, but do not involve us! Do not ask us to buy tickets! Once you involve us, then we can choose to talk about the issues that we see are part of this show.

If they want to give Katherine money, then by all means do it. We do not care, as long as you are not asking us to buy tickets to a tacky show, so you can reimburse yourself after giving her the money.

If this guy knew anything about the fans, he would know that the name Weisner, brings horror images to fans minds!!! Does he know what this guy did to Michael? Again they know nothing about Michael and his fans. They cannot be in business long, because they are trying to insult the population they want to attract. Good job GLE!!!

We should resubmit the letter will all the forums who were against this show to them. With a message "here is your answer GLE." I dislike when people attack me because I will not give them my money, and this is what it all boils down to. If we all ran out and bought tickets, they would not care what we said about any members of the family, and we would be "true fans."

with this letter GLE proved once again that they don't give an ish about Michael and his fans. They don't understand (and aren't even trying to understand) the relationship Michael had with his fans and how fans feel about Michael and to what extend they are ready to go to protect him. Michael and the fans is much more than a musician-fans relationship, it goes far beyond that, it is a special bond based on love for a PERSON more than a musician (and whatever Schmuley was trying to put into Michael's head that we love him only for his music, that's WRONG! we love him for what kind of PERSON he was MORE than the music (although the music is obviously also the best lol)). And it seems to me they can't grasp this bond and think they bring whatever ish marked with a "Jackson" name upon us and we'll swallow it gladly and ask for more. Guess what GLE. You couldn't be more wrong.

Well I have only been a fan since 1969 so I guess I have never been a'true fan'. Ridiculous statement from GLE and guaranteed to start even more controversy. Someone needs to press an abhort button on the whole fiasco.

These "bussiness people" always use Katherine to gain what they want out of Michael's name! They obviously took a page off of the Jacksons themsleves who use that bloodine excuse to always get what they wanted from MJ too. It's beyond pathetic.

I remember when Katherine didn't even know the name of the Guy next to her when promoting this "tribute" on HLN....:no: SAD!

If those extra 68 000 tickets aren't sold out by next week, I will personally see to it that each and every one of you receive a big-ass golden plaque courtesy of Global Live Entertainment which will state in big, fat, golden letters, that you are not, never have been or never will be a true Michael Jackson fan. How DARE you focus on a trial and getting justice for Michael when there's money to be made here! Which is more important? Justice, or money? You decide.

Oh, and remember, Katherine supports this tribute. I repeat, Katherine. You know? Katherine? Michael's mother? Katherine, la santa...el Dios. Remember that when you deny us the right to take your money. Remember. Katherine. I know you'll do what's right.

Wow I'm so mad after reading that letter, I need a moment to compose myself. Maybe I just need to start laughing at it because it looks like they don't care either. I hope this letter from them is spread amongst all the different MJ forums.
Every fan should see it.
Several lies and disrespect towards fans all in 1 letter. Showing their ignorance when it comes to Michael and who he trusted and worked with.
I don't even want to say "it can't get any worse" anymore because well every time I do they find a way to get even lower.

Ticket prices are being lowered apparently. I always check the main site and plug in several sections and request six tickets to see availability. And there's always a lot availabe, BUT the ticket prices are lower. They're offering some sections for 45 pounds and even some of the premium seats for 95 pounds, when the starting range use to be 55 and the premiums were usually all above 100.

Yeap prices have gone down lol.golden circle reduced by £100 m10 and m30 prem seats reduced by i think over a hundred aswell. gen admin down to 55.

i guess they were hoping to keep this quiet.whoops

^^^^I'm thinking just the opposite. This is probably what Picheta was referring to in his letter by...."We have further important announcements to make in the next few days..." This is major. The expense of those tickets was one of the biggest turn offs for many. They might get their sell out now.
 
I doubt it will make much diff. the tiks are still expensive for what u are getting.reduce them all to say £30 they might sell out lol

Very interesting re ticket prices, I wonder how all those supporters on FB are going to feel knowing they paid full wack. Oh and I guess if this is a Jackson family tribute for their relative they wouldn't be getting paid, right? Or they will at least be donating any earnings to the charities.... and I don't mean the MJ3 one.
