think it was a soundbite on the news.walked into haidressers and it was onWas she a guest on Fern's show? Or was it a soundbite on the entertainment news section or something?I read yesterday she has allocated 3 weeks rehearsal time for this show, but she'll need to know what she's singing first.
:rofl:We were talking about the album
So Jermaine is in?
They claimed in the press conf they picked the date to commemorate Michael's first solo single release, which is Got to be there in 71.
I don't remember the families of other black entertainers acting like this. I don't see their actions as a reflection of their race. It's just a Jackson thing
Standing ovation.
I have said EXACTLY that not long ago in the Jackson 2300 thread. And I was call a racist...even though....I am black....But no worry..we are far from being the only people thinking that.
The Jacksons are acting like uncivilized, uneducated people, not a family that has been in showbiz for over 40 years. That wasn't a secret within the industry...and now the public knows.
Trust me, I've been there for about two weeks now. The only good thing I can see coming out of this is that the Jacksons can never do something like this again because they put the final nail in their coffin when it comes to there rep.
On a personal note, what the Jacksons have done over the pass two years has offended me passed what they had done to Michael. I cannot speak for anyone else on this board, but the reason I am offended is because it seems so stereotypical on how the Jacksons has been acting. Selfie from KOP said it best. Here we have the first black family that really put its mark not just on music history, but the history of the black struggle to reach for greatness in the world and here they are acting like they came from the ghetto.
I mean, a white family would protect the name of their love one and beat down anyone who speak badly of one of their own. Even if they didn't even personally like the person. However, with this black family, they are so willing to throw their love one under the bus for a quick buck. They come across as selfish, petty, greedy, and pretty much confirm all of the stereotypes when it comes to black people in money. I find this annoying and this pisses me off.
I am not asking the Jacksons to act like saints and be better that their white counterparts just to stick it to the media. I am asking this because others who want to follow in their footsteps see them as a model of a successful black family. A generation has been watching and learning from them and this is what they are force to see from the 'First Family of Soul'.
That is precisely right!
That is true, but they act this way, not because they are black, but because they are Jacksons.
I had to go back through this thread just so I could find this comment and speak on it. Your comment is so grossly unfounded that I am having a hard time keeping composure and not offend as I type so please forgive me if this post is not exactly PC. If you think white familes do not throw their family members under the bus or speak against their family members, then you are extremely ill informed. Why don't you read about what Madonna's brother said about her. Read about what Julia Robert's brother, Eric said about her. Read about what Drew has said about her family. The act of speaking against your family members has had an extremely long history regardless of the race of families involved. -_-
The Jacksons are not the first black family to come from meager beginnings and make their mark highly in the world. In fact, this is the beginning of almost all black families that have made their mark, especially in the US. There have been MANY black families who have come into money and made their mark and who have chosen to remain a strong family unit.
How the Jacksons are acting is not indicative of race, but indicative of what happens when people value money over their family. When greed and avarice come to the fore and collide with mismanagement, a lack of love, and jealously. This is a story all too common for people of all races who have money whether they come from humble beginnings or not. Stop dimishing this to a "black and white" thing. I am black as well and get so sick and tired of people falsely lifting up others in an attempt to explain how some black person is deficient. That is what I find annoying and what pisses me off. Your whole premise is wrong from the get go, of course the conclusion is going to be faulty as well. :mat::mat::angry:
On Showbiz tonight they are going to show Gene Simmons and what he said. I just saw a clip of and he stands by what he says. I cannot stand this. I can't believe they were even approached to do the tribute. It's hard to see someone talk about Michael like that. It's like someone is stabbing you. It hurts.
[h=1]Try not to explode...
But Chris Hunt says they haven't heard all the facts.
"I think what's happened is that there's been a campaign, which some of them have listened to and haven't heard our responses to it yet.

http://www.stereoboard.com/index.ph...itterfeed&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=news Tickets for the Michael Forever tribute concert, scheduled for October 8th in the Millennium Stadium, have failed to sell-out after their first day of sales. Promoters had tried hard to advertise and hype the concert, but there has been a clear lack of demand for the tickets as MJ fans slammed the handling of what was supposed to be “the official Michael Jackson tribute concert.” But, Global Live Events remained confident that the show would be a sell-out and even claimed that they were in the exact position they had hoped and expected to be in with regards to ticket sales – despite previously saying “Tickets for the Concert are expected to sell out very soon after they are put on sale.” Paul Ring, US chief of GLE, said: “The registration process saw around 26,000 tickets taken up. Ticket sales have only been open for a short time, but we know that the system did crash at one point. “We hope to have sold around 50% of the tickets by the weekend, which is exactly how we had it planned. We then expect to be sold out by the end of the month. “With an event like this it is hard to get so many headliners to confirm, but once a few have confirmed it is like a domino effect. “We will be announcing three more big acts in the next few days and once they have been named, ticket sales will speed up even more. We know that fans are taking a bit of a gamble buying tickets now but I encourage people to get their tickets now rather than wait so they can get the best seats.” The under-fire co-ordinators have continuously spoken to press about their concert in their bid to advertise and promote their gig as much as possible, but fans may begin to wonder how much truth there is in their repetitive reassurances that the concert will be a massive, sold-out show after blunders like their dubious charity donation scheme. Ticketline’s Cardiff branch has told press that though some tickets had been sold, there was no real large-scale demand – whereas tickets for Princess Diana’s tribute concert sold-out within 20 minutes, and Freddie Mercury’s in 2 hours. |

Thanks Ben.
I was asking the question regarding the "ticket sales" at the very same time you were posting an answer to my question. We were definitely on the same wave-length.
Most definitely!I think if this was a tribute that was supported by the estate and fans, better timing and better organized it would have sold out just like that.
