so funny

1. so charities only get what is pledged.

2. "first time in 10 years Jackson's performed together on stage" - okay but they don't even have randy and jermaine attending. how is that qualify for jackson's performing together?

3. "and will almost certainly be the last" - didn't randy said that they are planning a reunion? if they do it won't be the last.

4. still "biggest and most loved artists" delusion going on

5. now it's 1 MJ song and some of of their songs.

:wtf:

I really do not know.... If I cry or laugh. Oh God.... :sigh: I give up this family....completely. It seems this crap will not be canceled. The Jackson family is against everything and everyone and they go ahead with it. :perrin: Disappointing... :puke:

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

This is getting serious now. This concert is going ahead while exploiting Michael's name. It makes me feel very powerless, because there is not much one can do to prevent it now. It all depends on artists not agreeing to take part and people from Wales, especially, not buying tickets. The ball is really in these people's court now.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Oh, I hope to receive that call... Do they really want Gaz & I on the same conference? Really?

:hysterical: I'd love to listen in on that call! So have they actually sent you a phone number to contact? I doubt it!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

*sides splitting upon hearing about the conference call* The new FAQ is pretty hilarious too. But the other side of this is terribly sad. :( How low they've stooped. Any fan that still wants to attend this tribute is pretty foolish.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

So tickets are supposed to be going on sale today (24th) and yet the conference call - a desperate attempt to appease MJ fans - is scheduled for 30th. They're not obviously not very optimistic about selling all 75,000 tickets in the next 6 days because if they believed all the tickets would be sold, what would be the point in the call?? Personally I'm not even sure the call will happen because AFAIK MJJC hasn't yet been contacted, but this decision (I believe) reflects a very low interest in tickets. As we all know, they CAN'T undo the numerous mistakes they've made and so MJ fans will boycott.
I was initially VERY interested (though sceptical it would happen due to the Jacksons' bad history) but their poor choice of promoter/organiser (GLE), poor management of the event, poor timing, plus the decision to invite KISS killed it for me. I had registered, was offered the opportunity to purchase tickets but let me allocated time pass. I won't be buying tickets now. For one thing, there aren't any standout names who will actually be there.

BTW WHY hasn't there been any advertising for this event in the UK?? I would have expected there to be radio adverts and newspaper spots, but so far there has been NOTHING! The tickets are supposed to be onsale today so WTF?!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Conference call? Anyone would think they cant sell any tickets. Desperation. The fools deserve all they get. They should have googled the jacksons and the moonies before hand.good luck on getting yout 100k back

Global commented something to a columnists about waiting until the tickets actually went on sale before they would advertise, wanting to handle the pre-registered first. They probably thought there would be so many pre-registered and word of mouth wouldn't necessitate advertising.

But this is the real fun part. How are they now going to advertise a Michael Jackson concert, when they legally can't broadcast his "whole" name. I guess Katherine is going to be all over the place in radio spots saying "my son's concert".

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

'A one off and never to be repeated event', would that statement hold up in court or should we get them to sign a legal document that this will NEVER be repeated.

Whatever happens this tribute has already failed, simply by alienating the majority of Michael's fanmily it has failed. But I am confident that at some time in the future between Michael's fans and the estate he will have a tribute that is truly 'fit for a king'.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I don't really see how this 'global conference call' will change anything. The date is set, the lineup is still a work in progress, the ticket sales and charity donations can't be changed, nothing can undo the spectacular screwup regarding KISS. Will they say the children won't be required? Will they say they will give all the proceeds to charity? No, of course not. The negative publicity must be getting to them. This is just a PR stunt to give the impression that they are listening to the fans. Too damn little, too damn late. BTW, have they even responded to the letter from the Estate? Maybe they'll be part of the conf. call too! In any case, I don't trust them at all.

I hope someone can record the call...

Am I being overly jaded to think that the reason they're possibly having this conference call is that they see now with pre-registration sales they are going to have to cancel, and by having this call first, and then cancelling, they can say they listened to fans concerns and are postponing it.

Possibly, but if that happens I wonder if they will blame the fans rather than saying they listened to the fans.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

There are 16 middle tear blocks not for sale (each with 15 rows of seats) and 13 Upper tear blocks not for sale (each with 33 rows of seats). I haven't been able to find out how many seats there are per row in each block but just thought it was interesting to see that just under half of the Upper and Middle tear seats are not for sale through the tribute page.
I wonder if this is because all seats in those blocks have already sold out?

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Where the stage is? Or prob on viagogo!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

None of the blocks I counted as 'sold' were behind the stage.
Your second suggestion could well be correct though

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Do we know if they are still asking for a charitable donation?

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

They're not anymore. Forgot about that one a long time ago. lol

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

@Ben I wondered if there might be something further into the registration, I would be really pissed if there wasn't any more and I had pre ordered and donated, as they did say at one stage 'the more you pledge the greater your chances of getting a ticket'.

Well, now, it doesnt matter any more. From the FAQ on FB : "There's no obligation to make a pledge (...) The charitable pledge - should you choose to make one, will have no effect or bearing on your chances of getting a ticket (...) The 2 charities really hope you will be able to make a donation."

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Thanks Ben,
Yeah they really hope you will make a donation cos no one else is going to!!!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

They never intended to. It has always been the buyer who had to make the donation, on top of paying for the ticket; but now, it's no longer a charity concert. Or a tribute to Michael, since performers will mostly sing their own stuff, and they can't use his image or name. Most of these performers have no link to Michael whatsoever. It's just another bunch of people singing on a stage. Like when you try to make a meal using all the leftovers in the fridge b/c you've been too lazy to go shopping.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Perhaps the jacksons can stand on the turnstiles and do a bucket collection.for the jackson family foundation of course!

Well, originally there was supposed to be 3 charities, and only 2 are listed on the website. So maybe the JFF is the 3rd... ;)
Joe is already making money in spain using (again) his son's name anyway.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

@Ben yes it is like trying to make a meal out of leftovers and they are trying to pass it off as gourmet. & @elusive LOL

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I really, REALLY hope they give Gaz a call. Oh, YES, I do! :innocent:

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I'm wondering how let's say...selective, they will be in choosing who gets to be apart of the conference call.. :fear:

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I hope I don't come across as being rude or anything, and this may be out of character & against what the legacy project stands for, but I'm sick to death of all this and I hope this "tribute" concert dies on it's fucking arse!!!!

I apologise once again. I'm out.

:hysterical: Dude, it's very polite compared to some of what I've been thinking lately.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I'm actually shaking I'm that angry!!! It's a weird feeling! *Goes to beat the fuck out of a wall* Sticks & stones may break my bones but Global really piss me off. They are mugging the fans off big time.

I'd say that Gaz, as Da Owner of the BIGGEST Michael Jackson fan-club/message board, should be at the very top of the list? And given that MJJC's letter made it all the way to mainstream news? If that call happens, there will be NO confusion anymore about what fans REALLY want? Which is. . . NO concert.
