MJ Forever Tribute/ MJJC Statement / Estate statement / Fan letter pg51/ GLE put on administration

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

And btw, does anyone knows if that trust really exist?

Good question. Only thing we know is Hunt gave KJ a check during the 1st press conference.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Does 'beaming in' count as attending? Is this how they will make up the numbers of artistes?

As someone on the Tribute page says, it sounds more like a J5 tribute..........

Beaming in--sounds like Star Trek. Are we now in another galaxy? How many people will be beaming in in opposed to "being live." Why don't they call this a Jackson 4 concert including minor stars and be done with it.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

About the Gen Simmons situation look what I found:

Well what do you know. You mean this guy is holding a grudge against Michael since the late 70s. Go Michael Go. Michael always said he loved Diana and I think he meant it in a romantic way, so maybe they have something here. Poor little Simmons, is your pride hurt?

Petrarose...
I really don't think there was a rivalry between them. Diana and Gene were doing some serious dating for a while by all accounts, and MJ wasn't a threat. Diana always loved MJ, and they may have even have had a fling, but I think she always remembered him as the little boy who stayed in her house, and always had a maternal feeling for him.

Gene Simmons said what he did about Michael because he is a degenerate and wants to believe the worse in MJ, because that's what pigs do. Think the worse of others because it puts them on the same level they're on.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

^^I know that. I am just being sarcastic. Believe me I have been on Planet Earth a Long Time!!!!!!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

LOL at the increasing number of media articles reporting this failure quoting fans.

With the obvious opposition of majority of Michael's fans, I wonder whom they intend to cater to? Fans of the artists signed to perform? What kind of tribute would that be to Michael, if it's not aimed to thrill and include his own fans? They have got to be the most clueless, greedy and desperate bunch of people to assume this crap is right.

And a Beyonce video clip? What kind of annoucement is that? Are we supposed to be excited or something to pay friggin hundreds of pounds to see a video clip that can be easily watched in the comfort of your own home?

Tribute to Michael Jackson by André Rieu, performed at Maastricht Vrijthof on 13 July 2009, featuring "Ben" (instrumental) and "Earth Song" (Carmen Monarcha).

I had to add this here...a real tribute with real emotion. Probably my favorite tribute... Always makes me cry...

Very nice. :)

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I like Beyonce and admire her work, but no one can give justice to the songs Michael sang. When I come upon someone who does as well or better on his songs, I will be so moved that I will break down in tears!!! So thanks for the video and thank goodness I do not have to pay to see it.

We all know now that this concert will be mainly attended by the artists fans and is really not a Michael Jackson tribute. Right now, I want them to remove his name from the concert, because too few Michael fans are likely to appear, and this was never intended to be a real tribute anyway.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Excatly this concert anit for mj but for everyone else!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

That "Ben" and "Earth Song" was very appropriate. I like the way they were done with such reverence and you could see the performers really wanted to convey what Michael was all about. Send a copy to the family to help them understand what a tribute is like.

I know they won't get anything out of it but if the family want to support a tribute to Michael I thought they would have shown more support towards the cirque de soleil shows. I know Jackie but the others I hear nothing. It is very positive and popular. Michael was a fan and they have done shows on Elvis and the Beatles. I hope his kids will get to see a show. The media is picking on this now about this tribute and how we want it cancelled? I hope the general public will see what is going on. I think Michael would be angry that his kids are "contractually obligated" to anything. He never wanted that for them.As for the kids knowing how this family are, I don't know but they will eventually. I think once a upon a time Michael was close to his family. But then he became an icon and superstar and they wanted things from him. They felt he "owed" them. Right now I think they are careful what they say to the kids about Michael. I think they are probably good to them. But when they get older and have more say in things and they are going to want things from them. They are not always going to say yes and then they will see how this family really is. Even if people tell them things they won't believe until they see it for themselves. If they do know things then they are handling it the way their father did. Michael never talked badly about his family and I see them being the same.
why would the family support something that they cant make money from ie the circus shows.they only support events when they are getting paid no matter how tacky these events are.thats why they hate the edtate causr all the money they makes goes where it should and not into the jacksons pockets. a 100k was waived at the family and thats all they need to jump on board

Considering the connections between La Tonta/Eric Bute/Paul Ring, I believe there's even more than those 100K as a carrot; at least for some of them.

Apparently, it's not over :

Michael Forever Tribute I can't tell you any rumours William but I have been told this morning that there are more names to be added to the roster. Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

frankly, I don't think this nontribute concert will be cancelled.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Is there any way to send the letter from all the fanclubs to the artists? If they knew all the details I think some would reconsider.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I have no idea what people like Beyonce or Christina, Smokey can think about all this. I can't believe they don't know the negativity around this, it's been in the media enough. All the others, well, I think they are excited to be on a stage, again or finally. I don't think they care what's happening around this, it's just a great opportunity for them to perform for their fans, or to be known. It's those people GL are mainly counting on. It's has nothing to with Michael

These people behind the scenes of this tribute are morons, im sorry but its true. Do they really think the majority of mj fans really wanna see this....i mean cmon! :banghead:

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

They don't care for MJ Fans, they are in there to make a quick buck off Michael, as long as they can. None of the two parties involved (GL and the Jackson's) give a flying you know what about any of us or Michael for that matter.

You have to remember that most of these artists are most likely bounded to a contract to show up, otherwise they can be sue. So for most of them it could be a matter that they can't leave without forking over some money that doubt fans would be willing to cover.

Smokey, he is a long time friend of the family and knew most of the Jacksons since they were kids. Even if fans hate the tribute, he will most likely go on out of loyalty to his long time friends.

Beyonce simply put loves Michael. She may know that this concert is shady which is why she's not bothering to make a personal performance. At the same time, however, she may want still show people that she still honor the man even though his family are currently using him. You have to remember too that Beyonce's family is very similar to the Jacksons so she may actually be taken some pity on them.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Ever since Michael died, nothing that has happened since the funeral has really been about Michael. It's been about the family members and how they can play the media, garner publicity for themselves, cash in on their connection to Michael. None of them have given me the feeling that they are willing to let him rest in peace. Instead they keep resurrecting him for their own selfish purposes and those purposes, strangely enough, always seem to involve making money. For those kinds of purposes they have energy and ambition and creativity. Yet, all of these qualities seem to be lacking when it comes to defending Michael's name, promoting his legacy and seeking justice for him whether it involves Conrad Murray or Tom Sneddon or Diane Dimond or whomever. For these things they lack the interest.
I agree that Michael's name should be removed from this fiasco. Let them call it a tribute to the Jacksons...Or a tribute to Cardiff...or anything else but not a tribute to Michael...
As far as the childrens' involvement, isn't there anything the Estate can do legally to remove them from the contract? They are minors, after all...If they WANT to go, fine but to have them obligated to go as a hook to sell more tickets?? Wrong.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Well I'm "guessing" that all of the tickets were not sold after the registration process was completed, as I'm sure was hoped for by the folks at Ja-Tail and Global Live. Which means Michael Jackson fans did not come out in massive numbers to purchase said tickets.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Jmie, I am beginning to think like you that this concert will not be cancelled, unless of course few tickets are sold. What I see is that they are targeting nonMichael Jackson fans, but using Michael's name due to the trial to generate interest in the tickets. Their main focus is doing a concert and hoping the fans of the artists will attend. Since, this is not about Michael, there is no need to cancel because his fans are outraged, or 2 siblings are against it, or non of Michael's own songs are sung. Now we know this is not for Michael, it is time that we ask them to remove his name from the event, because we all know which Michael they are referring to.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Many groups and pages signed the collective letter, and the support keeps coming in :

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Glad to see this thread stickied.

I still see potential for this to get cancelled. I don't believe they can achieve at least 75% of target ticket sales, let alone all 75,000.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

That's great news ben. Thanks for posting.

I was wondering how many of Beyonce's fans are willing to travel to Cardiff just to see her perform on screen. And be charged to do so.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

^^Thanks for showing those who support the letter. The best defense we have to to get the word out there to the buying public, so they do not buy those tickets. I am hoping the the people in Wales are not too excited about a concert in their area and rush and buy tickets.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

^With those ticket prices, negative media and line-up of stars I doubt many people would want to attend this. I really really doubt.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

^^Sometimes I doubt many people would buy tickets, but then sometimes I wonder if they would not simply keep adding more artists until they get enough sales from all fans combined. They seem so stubborn that I think they are saying we are going to find a way to make this thing happen, and since it is not about Michael, they are motivated by money only.
