MJ Forever Tribute/ MJJC Statement / Estate statement / Fan letter pg51/ GLE put on administration

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Man, I don't think they are going to cancel this thing. The Jacksons are just going to take their money off of the top and run for the hills. Now what happens after that, is anyone's guess.

Just like with the Koreans:

"Let's get our (The Jacksons) money off of the top and what ever happens after that is THEIR (Global Lives) problem."

I agree. I dont think they will cancel either. They will keep trying to add lame acts to their line up to attract people, anybody, until the last day. smh It will be one pathetic concert.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Glad to see someone exposing the fact that the kids were involved in the negotiations. I find it strange that the media don't go after Katherine over this. It's not like they like Katherine or anything, so why not call this stuff out?
Because media never want to give Michael credits for raise his children well. "thanks" for the Jacksons help! of course they love to go with Jacksons story "the children are better off and can finally have the "normal" life now, it fits their agenda. so things like his family bind Michael's children with a porn producer or contract kids attendance... will be "ignored".

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

question for the people who got the "win" notice. do they give you a certain time period to purchase your tickets?

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

This is their first "biggest stars in the world" and she won't even be there in person?

What makes watching a video of Beyonce in a stadium any better than watching a video of Beyonce at home?

well, you get to be part of a really spectacular FOUR hour event in seating with a probably limited view and can take pride in knowing that your hard earned money is not only contributing to a registered charity (maybe) but, more importantly, also helping to line the pockets of some truly deserving people...(only I ain't saying what they're deserving...):puke:

Sigh, I think you're right. Maybe they now realize all their bridges have been burnt so this is the last time they can try and profit from MJ and so they're going to steam through it regardless of everything that comes up. It really is how they've done things in the past and if all this teaches me anything is that history with the Jacksons is set to repeat ad nauseum.

I'm in awe of LaToya... she just doesn't care. She really doesn't.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I think the ticket sales will determine if this tribute will be cancelled or not. did they give the preregistration till wednesday to purchase tickets? There are a lot of fake registrations that won't turn into actual sales. so if not much sales happen and after they open it to "public" they can't get much sales they'll cancel it.

and if they can get 75,000 people either willing or clueless to attend then it will go on.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

But if they are still signing acts, how in the world can rehearsals take place? What are they going to do...just come out on the stage and sing a song or two and then exit? I mean, there needs to be organisation and planning and sets to design and , well, rehearsals. It's supposed to be a FOUR hour event... Isn't any of that important?

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I guess it would matter to a professional. Which GL have shown they are not.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Aslong as they can make a decent profit it will go on.as its all about money.they have shown they dont give a dam about the fans and estates wishes.if the jacksons pull out they will have the korean fiasco take two to deal with.the family want money and have showed they will use mj in anyway possible to acheive it

Tribute to Michael Jackson by André Rieu, performed at Maastricht Vrijthof on 13 July 2009, featuring "Ben" (instrumental) and "Earth Song" (Carmen Monarcha).

I had to add this here...a real tribute with real emotion. Probably my favorite tribute... Always makes me cry...

cinzia - I was looking for this! This brought tears to my eyes when I first saw it. It was so beautiful and touching.

The lady in the audience who jumped when the song started playing made me cry. I could tell she was a real fan.

Don't know whether to laugh or to cry. The organizers think people would pay to go to a stadium to watch a recorded performance projected to a giant screen?

I would if it was a MJ performance. :)

This tribute is soooooooooo depressing. Everyday I connect and check to see if it has been cancelled. I cannot believe it is still on.
What a complete and pathetic disaster.

Jackson fans say tribute concert "doomed to fail"

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/sns-rt-us-mitre77l78c-20110822,0,5406170.story

Jill Serjeant Reuters August 22, 2011, 3:33 p.m.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A group of 35 Michael Jackson fan clubs have joined forces to lobby for the cancellation of a Michael Jackson tribute concert, saying the October event is "doomed to fail".

In an open letter to organizers Global Live Events, the fan clubs representing thousands of die-hard Jackson followers in Europe, Australia, China and Russia, said they had multiple concerns with the October8 event in Wales.

These ranged from confusion over charitable donations to the timing of the concert during the scheduled involuntary manslaughter trial in Los Angeles of the singer's doctor.

Organizers on Monday announced that Beyonce would sing one song via satellite at the "Michael Forever Tribute." Other headliners include Christina Aguilera, Smokey Robinson and Cee Lo Green who are due to perform a Jackson hit along with their own songs. Ticket prices range from 55 to 240 pounds (about $90-$390).

Last week, organizers were forced to oust rock band Kiss from the line-up after Jackson fans recalled that frontman Gene Simmons called the "Thriller" singer a child molester last year.

Jackson, who died in Los Angeles in June 2009 at age 50, was acquitted of all charges in a 2005 child sex abuse trial.

"From the timing of this tribute...to the ticketing prices, to the obscurity over what charities will be receiving the donation, to the no-guarantee policy of performers, the addition of Gene Simmons and dishonoring, thus tarnishing Michael Jackson's legacy was simply the last straw," said the letter from the 80,000 strong members of MJJ Community, and more than 30 other fan clubs.

"Please understand that this concert is doomed to fail now...Do the right thing for Michael Jackson and cancel this tribute," said the letter, posted on the Fans against Michael Forever Tribute Facebook page.

"There has been one catastrophic mistake after another. We don't feel like it's the tribute he (Jackson) deserves," MJJ Community founder Gary Taylor told Reuters.

Global Live Events did not return calls for comment on Monday.

Attorneys for Jackson's estate also expressed concerns last week about the planned concert, which is supported by the singer's mother Katherine and several of her children, but not by Jackson brothers Jermaine and Randy Jackson.

Organizers said last week they had pledged $100,000 of their own money to establish a trust fund for Jackson's three children and that ticket revenue "is going, at least in part" to the trust fund and to a Los Angeles Aids charity and the Princes Trust which helps youth job training and education in the UK.

Fans were encouraged to register in advance for tickets online and make a charity pledge. Organizers have not said how many people registered and how many tickets are left for public sale, which starts on Wednesday. The stadium in Wales holds about 75,000 people and the concert is due to be broadcast around the world on pay television and in movie theaters.

Puhleeze! is this the performance Beyonce apparently did last week at the Roseland Ballroom in New york? If I remember correctly I read that she performed a J5 song, don't remember the name right now though.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

ok Just say that what Janet said that day had ANY merit to it whats-so-ever. WE the fans are not trying to put on a tribute concert for Michael with SOME people that didn't even respect Michael, LaToya could give a hoot if they did or not because as far as she is concerned "its all about forgiveness" Michael was stepped on by this family in life and now they are trying to do it in death..and this time they are trying to include HIS children...as far as I am concered there IS NO bigger slap in the face than that. They did what they did to him while he was here but atleast the kids were with HIM...and now they are with THEM...the very people that hurt him while he was here. What they ARE doing is teaching these children that it is OK for people to step on your fathers memory...."as long as we forgive them" and that is wrong no matter how you slice it.

Also, Usually when you forgive someone, they have said they are sorry for the pain, they did not know, they did not have the facts then, etc., but when did this KISS guy say he was sorry? So what is she forgiving him about? Did he show some humanity or regret for wrongfully accusing some kids dad? NO. So until he says he is sorry or words to that effect, I cannot see what is there to forgive him about.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I know they won't get anything out of it but if the family want to support a tribute to Michael I thought they would have shown more support towards the cirque de soleil shows. I know Jackie but the others I hear nothing. It is very positive and popular. Michael was a fan and they have done shows on Elvis and the Beatles. I hope his kids will get to see a show.

The media is picking on this now about this tribute and how we want it cancelled? I hope the general public will see what is going on. I think Michael would be angry that his kids are "contractually obligated" to anything. He never wanted that for them.

As for the kids knowing how this family are, I don't know but they will eventually. I think once a upon a time Michael was close to his family. But then he became an icon and superstar and they wanted things from him. They felt he "owed" them. Right now I think they are careful what they say to the kids about Michael. I think they are probably good to them. But when they get older and have more say in things and they are going to want things from them. They are not always going to say yes and then they will see how this family really is. Even if people tell them things they won't believe until they see it for themselves. If they do know things then they are handling it the way their father did. Michael never talked badly about his family and I see them being the same.

Beyonce got it wrong. I Wanna Be Where You are is a Michael Jackson song. It's released in his first studio album in 1972. Just saying...

Organizers said last week they had pledged $100,000 of their own money to establish a trust fund for Jackson's three children and that ticket revenue "is going, at least in part" to the trust fund.

This is the joke of the century. Now they are worry about the children's financial future? I would like to know what spaceship droped them on planet earth? They should take them back.

Don't they know those children will be very well taken care of? Their father made sure of that and he never used them even when he was in financial problems.

They just don't know how to make money. Now they want to get the fans through the children; they don't need money, they need their daddy to protect them from people like those organizers.

And btw, does anyone knows if that trust really exist?

Latoya says she forgives Gene Simmons for saying Michael was a pedo because SHE wants US to forgive HER for saying Michael was a pedo...
It's ALWAYS about her, don't search further.
