Defiently. And I'm sure over the years we will hear these songs in their original state otherwise there is something very wrong. In fact I don't care if all these original songs that are locked away in the vaults are officialy released or leaked or found in my back garden - I just want to hear the beautiful music and the lost lyrics and never herd voice MJ recorded. Because its all we have now.

But that tweet seems to be just a slightly altered copy of the statement they sent to fans on their mailing list on Friday ("For those who have been asking about the recently posted recording of “Slave 2 The Rhythm” by Michael and Justin Bieber, this recording was not authorized and has been taken down"). It's too short and vague to determine whether they are referring to the recording itself or the leak. The extended reply that ivy posted seems to make it obvious that it is just the leak though.

I did not get that statement and it's not a statement, it's an email sent to a fan which had a little more detail. I just posted the full text here for easy reading.

This is what Estate has tweeted to their official account - as close as you are going to get to an official public statement

For those who have been asking about the recently posted recording of “Slave 2 The Rhythm” by Michael and Justin Bieber, this recording was not authorized. We can assure you that the Estate is quite upset about the leak and is doing everything in its power to get the song removed from as many sites and YouTube channels as possible.

But if they owned up to it and said after realising fans dis-interest in the song they have decided not to release it at least it would show they are actually listening to us fans.

Estate we simply want to know whether or not this duet is being released, yes or no??

I hardly think its tarnished. Let's wait until the entire story comes out. I have a hard time believing JB was behind all this. I don't think he would intentionally do anything negative in regards to Michael Jackson or his legacy.
 
The estate doesn't just have fans interest in mind.. They have money!! I'm sorry to say but us yelling saying we don't like something doesn't mean they will think we know what sells... They will do what they feel brings revenue.. Whatever what may be..


I'm not saying for this song specifically but its true that at times us fans have a bias look on to what we want to hear over what everyone would enjoy hearing. This song of course should be left alone, but there will be some mj demos that should be worked on.. Changed due to when was recorded and updating sounds, and filling in gaps that mj may have never finished..


This song is very dance pop which is huge everywhere right now.. It can be left alone
 
I don't get it? Why all the hating. Yes I agree justin beiber isn't really the one anyone wants on an mj track. But..... Is it not better that news are covering mjs music for once. It's been awful with the trial and all the bad things we hear about mj all the time. At the end of the day there is no denying this song is great and it would chart high. So for once as it is positive and about the music! The reason we love him! For once can't we be happy! If the estate was clever they would release this ASAP as this would chart all around the world and you get people because of beiber would be listening to mj! God. So depressing on here!

For all we know this song could be one of his last BEST unreleased songs they have in the vault. It could be huge. Now a lot of people will recognise it as a Justin Bieber song. Michael Jackson deserves the credit for this song. He sure as hell didn't intend for it to be a duet, and he never even worked with Justin Bieber let alone met him. It is just an utter disgrace if this gets released. YES this song should be released but not as a duet!!

We are hating because of how disrespectful this was towards Michael. Slave To the Rhythm had already complete MJ vocals on it but somebody had the ''genius'' idea to remove some of MJ's vocals and replace them with Justin Bieber's.

Also MJ's legacy and dignity as an artist is far more important than getting a number 1 hit and trying to appeal to the 13-15 year old Justin Bieber fans.

If it's so important you'll realise his legacy isn't effected. Dignity possibly, but legacy definitely not.

For most people (including me) its not the fact that Justin Bieber is on the track that pisses us off. Its the fact that this was even contemplated to be released as a duet. As I've said before I don't have a problem with Justin Bieber. I DO have a problem with people taking MJs (finished) songs and re creating them as duets when he never intended them to be. That's what the issue is.

That's fine. But for people to be throwing shit Bieber's way like he despises MJ and never respects him and to be saying all sorts of crap about weed and peeing in buckets was just disgusting. MJ fans have had it hard for a LONG time so I knew that we know what it feels like.Why do that to others then? We just did what people did to MJ and threw hate. It wasn't called for. It had NOTHING to do with the song. It really didn't. The video is how I feel pretty much 100%. Do I want this released over the original? Hell no. But I can deal with it being online and that's it. We could still get the original and that's all we really want, original Michael Jackson. Why isn't more being made of Timbaland working on songs? He has actually came out and disrespected MJ. But cause it's Bieber let's all throw all sorts of stuff his way. There are Jason Malachi songs on youtube down as MJ songs. they suck vocally but no one cares because it's not important and neither is this in the grand scheme of things at the moment. (unless released of course. then things change. big time.)
 
Did anyone mention @Maxmethod very first tweet in over 6 months ( a RT). What was he arrogantly promoting ?? Then comes back to say in his next tweet, that he respects the MJ estate .. NOT. He himself broadcasted a site that was posting the original leaked video. (which still has an active DL link to the song) He was promoting it spreading it with his first tweet in over 6 months. ( He wasn't trying to squelch it) Which seems to indicate he knew and was responsible for the leak and was more than happy to promote and spread it over the internet via twitter.

I agree that what many fans are doing is wrong. MJ taught us L.O.V.E not hate, and he wouldn't be proud of what a lot of fans are doing. But what is also true is that its a DISGRACE if this gets officially released. It was not intended as a duet, doesn't need to be (its finished) and MJ deerves better.

To be 100% honest most bieber music I don't care for, but because I don't care for it doesn't mean I'm going to call him names and put him down as a person..

And if you would defend that type of talk as "non hate".. That's the exact ignorance that makes people think its OK.

I have not read your previous posts (I don't think anyway) and I don't know what you've said or think. But attacking some one is hate.. Dice it how you want..

I've talked crap about people, or there talent too. Often times I'm talking to myself as much as I am others. Some just go pass a line that is far beyond what people should ever say to any human. Even an enemy. And yes this thread has words of hatred..
 
I don't hate Justin Bieber but the fact is that he is not a respected artist to people above the age of 15 and putting him and MJ on a song together is degrading towards MJ.

Removing some of MJ's vocals and replacing them with someone else is disgusting but the fact that it was Justin Bieber, an artist who is not respected is just an extra slap in the face

Thanks Zakk, I was just about to repost that.

I understand our anger -- hey, I was pretty pissed off when I heard this too -- but we all need to take a breath. The statement clearly dictates that the Bieber mix of Slave to the Rhythm was not authorized for release, which in itself implies that it will not be released in the future.
