Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

^ I think the BEP's have run their course. I think MJ worked with will.i.am at his peak.

The chart's are going to be there for Michael's taking. I really think he is going to dominate sales.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Same here Ginny. I need me some new MJ songs. My cd collection is getting worn out. I need something new! lol

I think today is the first day since mj's death that i have been impatient with him lol.......Not to mention its one of those days..... ;)

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

As a BEP fan it thought you'd just be part of the general bashing of the band since they attract a lot of it but that song is really bad. worse than I Gotta Feeling and that's saying something coz i detest that song : P

I actually like a lot of their music, however "The End" had only one song that was good IMO - "Alive".

I agree with you, tho I'm not sure about the general public... but I think by the end of this year, thanks to Michael, the "club sound" era will be over, similar to the huge popularity of the "Timbaland" sound that was everywher when FutureSex, Loose and Shock Value came out. Everyone was copying that.
I talked with Will about the "club sound" and what his music used to sound and from what he told me, I got the impression that he doesn't know how good his music used to be.

I am sure the music MJ worked on with Will is amazing. Will did pretty good by himself and when collaborating with other people, add Michael Jackson to that and the outcome MUST be great, there's no other option.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

^ Yes, I am hoping we get all 3 completed tracks with Will. The club songs - I'm Dreamin' and The Future. And the ballad, Missin' You. I think 2 of the 3 will be chart toppers.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

I am not comparing Will.I.Am to Quincy Jones or Teddy Riley. But when you look at each of their work, they all had "artistic peaks". You can argue Jones was at his best in the late 70's/early 80's. Riley was at his best late 80's/early 90's. Will's peak was around 05 to 08.

And don't underestimate will.i.am. You mix his ideas with Michael's genius, I guarantee you some classic material was created.

Here's a list of songs Mike did from 2000 - 2010.

I made this list for fun really. Just gives you an idea the amount of songs Mike does per year and all. You can imagine the amount of albums the estate could make just from this list alone. Maybe discussing this list of unheard tracks would bring more excitement and new discussions into this board since we don't have any info on the album.

There's a total of 67 tracks. These are the ones that were registered, which I'm guessing means producers know about it. It doesn't include any other collaborations with T pain or Neyo or any other artist past '08, nor does it include the Cascio tracks or the Bahrain album in '05 so, there are I'd say about 30 - 40 more tracks that aren't in this list.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Black Eyed Peas just uploaded their new single on dipdive. It's terrible.
It will be so refreshing for people who only listen to mainstream to finally hear quality music, by MJ.

Can't wait to hear Michael's album!

You're right. It's horrible and a total destruction of Bill Medleys song. He must have allowed them to use his song before he heard THIS version. Another Day is way better and if we can judge both albums by these to songs, I wouldn't worry about competition in the first week of december. Lets hope that will.i.am used some of his better ideas on the songs he recorded with MJ. He's got it in him "Where is the love?" and "Meet me halfway" have amazing hook-lines and Fergies voice suits them. On the other hand there are other songs like "Boom boom Pow" and "Rock that body" that I really don't like.

I like BEP but Most of their songs have a bit of every song that has been recorded by other artists… Smh*

Cry was a track on the Invincible album, therefore it wasn't made in 09.

Hmm sorry to say that but there was another track called Cry and MJ was working on it with Marsha Ambrosius before he passed away...Marsha performed it live as a piano/voice track and said before she sung that she was working on it with Michael ;)

Nothing to do with the Cry track on Invincible's album ;)

I think I have an audio of this live performance, I will check

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Yes, it's a completely different song.

I agree MJ worked with Will.i.am at his peak and I said then that the tracks should be released ASAP to avoid the sound becoming 'dated' before release. Well, music has moved on in the last few years and whether we like the current sound (i.e. club sound), the 2006 MJ/Will.i.am material MAY sound a bit dated now if they don't rework it to make it sound more clubby. If we're lucky they sound just about current enough that little work needs to be done.

Everybody flame Will's Twitter, Facebook and Myspace to find out whether he has done any work on the tracks he did with MJ for the new MJ album.
I know he was against using them a while ago but he may have decided "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!"

Well I look at it this way:

Would you rather get an announcement now and then later find out that the album isn't ready and needs to be pushed back? Or wait longer for an announcement but have it be correct without any delay?

I'd rather the Estate and Sony get everything in order before we hear anything. And once announced, I bet everything will pretty much come quickly.

I would have preferred they announced an album when they were 100% sure it was going to happen.

The Estate ALREADY HAVE announced an album would be out in November via press release. According to the RS magazine article they then reconfirmed that it was heading for a November release. Maybe the Estate were 99% when they said those things, but why did it take so long to get the producers working on the tracks? Why are musicians STILL working on some of them?
It's so late in the year now, the Estate should now do the right thing and either confirm they're still heading for a November release, or if not, they should say what their new target date is. They should release some new information to keep the fans happy and to generate some public interest. I believe the reason they're not doing so is because they don't know when it's coming out. They HOPE for November/December but they're not sure enough to announce it. It may be next year, but they HOPE it isn't and so can't announce that either. It's a mess.
I would be happy just to see a couple of confirmed track names, or maybe a 10 second snippet from a confirmed track, or even a bit of new footage of MJ in the studio recording one of the songs. Surely they can do that.
Most of the general public have no idea that an album is coming, and those that do know are not eagerly awaiting details like we are. We're the fans. We're the ones who supported Mike through YEARS of negative publicity and accusations. They should do the right thing.
As far as I'm concerned the estate are handling this situation badly.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Is it this performance?

I don't know if I like the song, but she seems singing the song a little bit like Michael. I can image MJ singing this song.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Still The King? Is thats an actual song I want to hear that........haha

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

I very much would want to hear on a new album of 2 songs: "Benjamin" and "I have this dream". They are magnificent!!

Without Michael's vocals and voice, this song isn't that good. It sounds as if one instrument was missing - Michael's voice. :D

Indeed, when Michael sings jazzy songs, his voice is more than simply singing. I don't know how he did that, but his voice was also playing like an instrument or to quote Will I am, like a bird. :D

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Wasn't there someone a while back who said that the album wouldn't come out until March of next year but nobody believed them and then they stopped posting?

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Something's gonna happen on Monday. I feel it in my bones. :D :D :D

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Hah, everyone say this everyday, lol. "Something is going to happen tomorrow, I know it!"

Over and over again :/

Edit: I love the performance by Marsha. Beautiful voice.

Kinda.
It was a real concept but it was never recorded. Will.i.am wanted many artists MJ had inspired to come together on the track as a tribute to MJ and declare he's "still the king".
Great concept IMO and I think they should have gone ahead with it after he passed.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

From information I have gathered:

I'm Dreamin', The Future, I'm Missing You -- Completed tracks.

There might be a 4th that was almost completed. Not sure which one from that list.

Yes that is true. I'm Dreamin', The Future & Miss You are 100% completed. And I'm Still The King was 75% completed.
