Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Just as a side note, this blog run by Leslie is THE source for anything related to MJ's business proceedings. Here is her assessment on the topic of MJ's new album:

http://lesliemjhu.blogspot.com/2010/...-mj-album.html

Quote:
I have been asked about if there are any new MJ albums in the near future. At the moment I have no direct connection to Sony, because of this I can rely on the Estate announcement from this Summer.

I did a research on the issue:

- None of the Sony websites (including international ones) say anything about any new MJ material. That doesn't mean anything.

- Neither any of the major retailers website lists any new MJ material. This doesn't mean anything again, new titles can be added easily.

- What's very promising: the Estate is visibly busy with registering and taking care of unrelated MJ materials within different organisations. Below you may find a list of these activities:

Unreleased tracks from 2008-2009 are copyrighted by his Estate. Includes works with Bradley Buxler and Michael Durham: I Was The Loser, Adore You, Boy No, Changes, Days In Gloucestershire, Don't Be Messin', Hollywood, I Am A Loser, Innocent Man, Jungle, Just Remember, Light The Way, Neverland Landing, Pray For Peace, Rocker, Thank Heaven, World Of Candy, 11pm, Bottom Of My Heart, Butter Funk, Children's Hour, Green Hornet Groove, I Love You More, King Tutankhamun, Lovin You, Pajamas, Photographs, Photographs 2 (Instrumental) , Pray For Peace (Instrumental), Shut Up And Dance, That (Instrumental), Think Twice (Instrumental), Walk Away (Instrumental), You Are There (Instrumental), MJ / BB Orchestral Idea #1., MJ / BB Orchestral Idea #3., MJ / BB Orchestral Idea #2., Brad Loop 3700, Brad Loop 3.3.7 MJ, Michael's Affirmation (Instrumental).

Unreleased tracks from 2007 are copyrighted by his Estate. Includes works with Eddie Cascio, the so called "MJ Song Books".

Unreleased tracks registered recently with BMI: Doing Dirty (Victory era), Man In Black (Dangerous era), Verdict (Dangerous era), Remember This Night (Thriller era), She Got It (Dangerous era), Seven Digits (Dangerous era), Who Do You Know (Thriller era), Michaelmania, Pressure (Dangerous era), Just Feel It (Victory era).

Unreleased tracks recently released with ASCAP: The Pain (Invinclible era), The World Is No Church (Invincible era), Seduction (Invincible era).

In my opinion new MJ materials will arrive this Winter.

How come we're not talking about this??? And can anyone explain if they generally release a song right after they register it? Or are these just lyrics being registered???

I am assuming some of these would be on the album? Or is that too late to make the album? I'm wondering how that works.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Kreen, as i have said before are you PRESS seeking to destroy the good feeling an general happy times that are to come continuing Michaels legacy! Are you someone just negative to any good news? Are you a real fan? Lets face it look at his amount of posts and what they consist of , most if not all negativity and to put it blunt dont you think MJfans have gone through enough!?!
You only joined AFTER Michael died! surprise surprise! in other words to quote Michael WILL YOU BE THERE! no you was not!

SC-05 does not have to give us any news , but what he does , right or wrong brings excitement to this thread and i for one welcome this. So why dont you negative people start your own thread .
Thanks also to Damien MkGenie and any other ppl thats add POSITIVITY to this thread your ALL very welcome.

Terry

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

I want to be positive, but we still haven't heard any confirmation! And SC_05 doesn't count. Rest assured that on the day where Sony and the Estate FINALLY grace us with a definite release date and title, I'll be joining everybody here in celebration! But right now, with supposedly two months to go, there is still no official release date. I mean, normally, not only should we already have a release date and title, but the publicity campaign would have already started. So I think I'm justified in fearing a delay.

1. Believe who YOU wanna believe and leave the others to believe
whom they choose to.

2. You maybe justified in fearing a delay, but you are'nt justified in
bringing constant negativity to this thread.

3. Just chill, people need to remember we don't have to get anything at
all! Its not like before.

And thanks to Smooth for the update and as someone else said before, MJ fans are gonna have to step up and do our own thing for the promotion of this album for our beloved MJ.

He's told us NUMEROUS times that he's only telling us what he hears from his source...He also said he can't reveal stuff on promotion JUST YET....

Then when is he going to reveal it? When it happens?

I'm not knocking the guy, just asking a serious question. The whole point of having a source is to reveal info anonymously.

Well, I have no idea when he'll reveal it....let's just wait and see maybe...? This is what I like....not really knowing what the f*** is going on...it's part of the fun, part of being an MJ fan...all mystery...that's the MICHAEL JACKSON way

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

EDIT:

ok really THIS IS getting old!

I've PM'd ppl. about talking about a member on a thread that is not created for that! since some dont really listen…here goes: If you've got question about a member. then TALK TO THAT MEMBER!!! NOT ASK other member on a thread! Some are being REALLY Disrespectful!

My thinking is, IF YOU CANT see yourself saying what you say on here In PM or Face to face with that PERSON, Then there is NO Reason to do it here! I feel like some ppl. on here want to ignore the fact that they're Ignorant by talking about other ppl.

I JUST Hope we've learned something from Michael…

2 Month… bittersweet… but I'm ready...

Woo, haven't been on in a couple days and just went through 10 pages of exciting news. :) haha. I'm so excited about the new video for the single! I really can't wait to see what it is. I wonder if it was something Michael was working on? If not, I still can't wait.
When I read smooth's post, I was very excited but got a little bit emotional. This is great. Everything is finally coming together. I'm so grateful that we are getting this.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Just thought I'd pass this along:

I received an email from my source at Sony Music USA this morning and mark it down on the calendars it's OFFICIAL!

-New MJ album, 3 DVD set titled "Vision", and The Experience all being released November 22nd/23rd depending on the area. Announcement has already been made up and is planned to go public very soon.

-My source also confirmed 100% to me that the DVD set will contain a new music video for the first single off MJ's album. Promotion will be BIG, it's all coming together. Unfortunately I can't reveal the details on promotion just yet but I can say one thing...Wow I'm excited!

I was told to let all MJ fans know. In addition to a party in Sydney, Sony is also planning an event in LA and London as well as other locations around the world. This information corresponds with Damiens info from Sony Australia which is great news. Expect to hear about it officially any time. Get ready!

:wild::clapping::punk::wub: This makes me so excited and happy, I can hardly breathe, but then I feel like crying right after that. :( Major mood swing, but it's just so bittersweet.
Thanks for the info!

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

I had a dream the other night that a new Michael Jackson music video came out. It was for Another Day. It showed Michael and Lenny working in the studio together. They were having fun. Michael was dancing. Lenny was playing his guitar.

Was this really just a dream?

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Hate to be a negative Nancy, but has it been confirmed by either of the sources that the video is indeed from some unreleased short film of Michael's?

Or are we in store for another montage video?

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

In regards to the DVD collection of videos.....think the ORIGINAL planned version of "One More Chance" will be included. No idea if MJ ever finished it...or how completed it is.....I found a video on you tube with still photos from the video shoot. Hopefully it was near completed, and Sony/The Estate releases it. Looks like it was going to be an amazing video.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Guys just a quick note we've had a few double posts in here lately. If you want to post something new but you have the last post in the thread please edit that post rather than making a new one. Thanks :)

I read somewhere, I think the director said it: They only managed to do side-shots of MJ for OMC, front shots were scheduled for the next day... but we know what happend.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Looking forward to new album yes!! but if this dvd is just repackaged videos we've already seen and probably own.. I will not be buying.. sony do this way to much! and if they are enticing us to buy it cause it has one new video on it..I won't be buying it.. its a clever way of making money..they must laugh all the way to the bank repackaging stuff.. trouble is people fall into there greedy trap and buy it!! how about a live bad dvd instead?? something totally new for a change!! repackaged = boring boring boring. new album will hopefully be good though!

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

If it is a very nicely packaged boxed set, which really does have most if not all of MJ's music videos, plus some previously unreleased footage then I will be buying it. I only bought MJ's videos on DVD after he passed and actually have never watched them, but I like to have them in my collection. This box would be a replacement for those and would hopefully look neater on my shelf.

Its kind of upsetting though, this video, knowing what happened during the video shoot and why it was cancelled, and the aftermath totally ruined his career and himself as a person, and imo which killed him in the end.

I'm no director, but that appears to be a strange way of working. Why only film side shots one day and front shots the next? Couldn't they afford to have at least 2 cameras running? That way they could film it in half the time LOL.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

^I'm sure they have enough OMC footage to make the video. This may not be perfect as Michael would it to be, but I want to see it so much. Michael looks so beautiful here.

The point of this box set is to put ALL Mj's videos in 1 package. Opposed to buying 3-4 different DVD's , with Vision you can get all MJ's videos from Off The Wall through Invincible plus the new music video!

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

^ If Vision is just all the music videos that have already been released plus one new music video, I don't think I will be buying it. I already own the HIStory DVD's, the One's DVD, and the Dangerous short films. Why bother paying for this when there is only one new video of a song I don't have?

I hope there's more to it like a dvd dedicated to studio footage. If not, I'm not going to bother.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

Once you see it, I'm sure you will change your mind. From what I'm told, it's going to be a great package to own. And the point of this is not necessarily to market it to existing hardcore fans, but instead capitalize on MJ's growing fanbase who may not own Dangerous The Short Films, or HIStory volume I, II, or Number Ones. There are many younger fans who would find this appealing plus it keeps MJ's material on the front shelves of the store. Overall, I think it's a great idea for this DVD, and in my opinion it will probably end up selling 2 million+ units globally.

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

^ MJ ALWAYS had a camera crew with him. And this was especially true in the studio. I've read about this from many engineers that worked with him. MJ liked to video record things. From the sessions with Paul McCartney on Thriller, to Bad, Dangerous, HIStory, and Invicible. Studio time was almost always recorded. Why can't the estate give us something like this. That's really the VISION we want to see that Michael had. IN THE STUDIO.

I don't mean to sound like a Negative Nancy, but repackaged video's we already have in a nice box unfortunately just doesn't do it for me.

Documentary of Michael working in studio would be nice.

Oh well... still can't wait for new album. :D

Re: The Official New Album Thread - Discussion Only - ALL DISCUSSION HERE PLEASE

There was a rumour that the estate were putting together a documentary that would be released to coincide with the new album release, but I haven't heard anything about that for a looong time.

Does anybody here know if they are still working on it? Or if it was cancelleD?

I think this is actually a good thing to do in the long run. Regardless of how much we hardcore fans dislike this idea, it's good for this new and growing fanbase. Of course, it might cost a pretty penny, but Christmas is around the corner and I know i'd LOVE seeing this under the tree or as a Hanukkah gift for me if I was a new, sprouting MJ fan!

And yes, it keeps MJ's best material at the front of the music stores.

We'll have our time as veteran fans, I won't lose faith in that.
