What is this rubbish about fans boycotting the new album? You're worried about it tarnishing Michael's legacy, but if no one buys it and it doesn't do very well and only hits 30/40 on the Billboard charts; don't you think that will tarnish his legacy even more?

It's £9.00 guys.. I'm SURE there will be genuine songs on there! Just buy it to add to your bloody collection.

Re: The Official New Album Thread -"Breaking News" Announcement Page 464

Wasn't it stated earlier that Teddy got paid for this project BEFORE he was handed the tapes, now on this interview from LAST NIGHT he states he's still to be paid - ???!

And he publically challenged John McClain ("JM"), too - so who exactly will gain from this fiasco???!!!!!

Why would we be played? If that is true, how does that make any sense? How would it help sales? I would be pretty ticked off if they are playing games. I wouldn't give them one cent of my hard earned money. I'd rather download it for nothing.

If Teddy hasn't been paid, that doesn't make sense. Maybe the tracks really are FAKE and that's why. What other reason would they not pay him for his work. Something is screwy. I think McClain is a mistake and is going to ruin this, if he hasn't already.

Ivy that is what i am saying, why on earth sacrifice the 250 million deal by putting out a fake vocal, im sure its controversy, just like Mike would of done.

Re: The Official New Album Thread -"Breaking News" Announcement Page 464

from my personal fan perspective : I'm torn. Some parts sound like Michael some don't. But I don't have the musical ear to make a decent comparison and come to an acceptable determination. I cannot personally say without doubt "this is Michael" or "this is not Michael" - therefore I'm torn like I said.

from a logical perspective : I think that the vocals must be real or it would not make sense.

and this is why (as I posted on the breaking news thread)
:agree:

I also feel that way. I can not say it is 1000% MJ in this song.

Perhaps for the controversy? Who knows? They got everyone talking about the song and the album didn't they? Does this work to their advantage or not? We'll see.
I hope the answers to these questions are answered fast. This silence is killing everybody.

Does anyone know what is the general reaction from people outside of fan community?

The whole thing doesn't make sense. Sony has $250 million at stake. The Estate has managed all projects with great result. Teddy Riley a successful producer. Why all these parties put so much at risk?

Is it because we are overwhelmed by our own high expectation? I don't know. The whole development is strange. This is not what I expect from a cohesive marketing campaign.

People at Sony must have better marketing expertise and in-depth industry knowledge, I can't believe they would allow such mishap to happen so soon... Am I overreacting? May be the situation is not as bad as I thought....

Is there proof of this 250 million dollor deal?

I would like to see it.

And even if a deal that big was made, $ony/E$tate would still do something like this. Sony has had several lawsuits of fraud filed against them in the past. Look it up.

And just think about it. This is being used as the FIRST song to promote Michael's album. It is no publicity stunt.

Do we ever get a break? Can we ever fully enjoy something? Damn it. :(

Clear this up, Sony.

To be honest, I'm quite tired of this "Sony is the root of all evil" conspiracy. I know something goes wrong. But, I still don't think Sony intentionally set this up to fail.

The $250 million dollar deal is stated on the Management Report of the Estate presented to the Probate Court (Ivy, correct me if I'm wrong).

I don't think the Estate would "fake" a report presented to the Court.

OMG Noooooooooo!!

Teddy Riley said "THIS WILL BE THE DUET ALBUM, MJ sing just the first parts of the songs"

He was referring to the album AFTER "Michael", although it certainly does NOTHING to ease our concerns that we've been duped by dubious vocals in Breaking News...

IM SURE IVE JUST SEEN SOME NEWS ON BBC3 AND IT SAID SOMETHING ABOUT SONY BLAH BLAH BLAH michael jackson ...SOMETHIN not...blah blah ...sorry i didnt see the whole of it as it was on the bottom of the screen and goin waaaay toooo fast for me to c it

discussion here is not takin us anywhere, we need an official statement NOW

i'm sure I have seen an official Sony quote somewhere saying that the song IS Michael and they have evidence from people in the studio and voice experts etc...

I would love to think that this is Michael's vocal. I woke this morning so excited to hear the new song... Michael or Not, the production is awful and I really didn't like it.

I am so confused at what to think right now. Over produced Demo or complete imposter... I just don't know.

I do think that with anywhere between 50 and 1million un-released Michael jackson songs, Sony could afford to drop all of these Cascio recordings and fill the album with songs they needn't doubt.

Did anybody else notice in the TR interview that the next album will be a duet album with various artists singing over Michael's demo recordings?? WTF????

That song is not Michael's. The beggining doesn't sound right. The middle doesn't sound right. And the end doesnt' sound right.

Why would Sony/Estate even think about putting that song on his album?

They really think we are stupid.

You don't know that. I think he was talking about MICHAEL album.

Teddy definately said the "next" album will be the duet album but he couldn't talk much about it. He discussed it as a way of expressing that many of the tracks michael left behind were maybe just a Chorus and a verse aand put down as a way of recording an idea...

The demo vocal will be mixed with another artist to create a completed Demo...

Can we then assume that maybe "Breaking news" was just a demo, a chorus and a verse that has had additional vocal added??
