Michael - The Great Album Debate

OMG..:D

(thinks of how Arklove found this pic..Nevermind, I'm not sure I wanna know)

 It's from earlier in this thread, months and months ago...I just kept it cuz I figured that it would come in good use again :D

I took what he said literally....It was like he searched for some bullshit answer, and that's what he came up with haha

bahahaha...! Socks and slippers! I know...SEXY, eh? :heat: That's the FIRST thing I noticed :D

So it can mean two things?

^^^Much better socks.

@ Ivy, I have a new question..:D

"I was there pushing the buttons". Is it some sort of saying (like that he was in charge) or do I have to take it literally?

Producers do push buttons and he seems to have a control console

something like this

Because that sentence is repeatedly mocked, I was curious if I understood it right.

Yup, a producer can push buttons (maybe shoving and turning would be a better word).

probably the people that mocked it didn't know what he meant by the buttons? Simply put he was saying " I was there, recording him so I know it's him"

Well, I think it's funny that the believers most of the time ignore his questions.
Just saying :D

I don't think many people want to discuss it anymore. Me included.

bumper - :)

everyone either talks about something else or says that they got nothing new to say but you come posting Cascio related stuff. It's funny.

Because that's the topic of the thread.

@ivy....Really? You think we don't know what Eddie meant? Most of the 'mockers' have explained several times why we thought what he said was particularly funny..lol

I then challenge your perception,

I have now opened up the controversial section to guests and any one who wants to view this forum and threads in the big wide world of the net,

Lets now see if this in fact makes an impact.
Woooo.....15 viewers! Coincidence?

Now that everything has been said and done is a bit too late. You'll have to wait for the next Cascio releases in order to have some kind of impact.

p.s. But if there are still some people digging things up on Google, they might come across this thread thanks to our posts.

Well contravening the public's perception of us, we have now handed you the very thing you all craved, do with it as you will

All we do is wish you luck in your quest to get it to the masses ;)

I was rather seeing it as a tool to bring in more curious (non-MJJC members) MJ fans to this forum than getting it to the masses per se.

read chamlife's posts? If the buttons and the reasons for mockery is understood why that question?

I do understand that "I was there I pushed the button" doesn't bring much - if any- proof to the authenticity debate so dissatisfaction with that answer is understandable. However mockery such as the "literal Eddie" is unneeded IMO. There's a lot of producers whose job is to push the buttons.

Example: Stevie Wonder "pushing the buttons" and a young MJ is looking

michealjacksonandsteviewonder.jpg

I think that some people have misunderstood the "mockery" with "pushing buttons".

As far as I am concerned, it's not mockery on other people's expenses. As far as I am concerned I hate when people mock other people. I leave that to Jay Leno who is intellectually unable to do anything else but cracking jokes on other people's misfortune.

Now here, we have a different situation. Oprah raises the question with some people doubting the authenticity of the vocals. And what's Eddie's reaction?

"Michael was singing and I was pushing the buttons. It is Michael's voice."

I mean, no kidding, that argument of his "helped" a lot. What else was MJ supposed to do and what else was he supposed to do than respectively singing and pushing the buttons!? Dancing ballet?

Nobodoy's mocking Eddie, but his absurd statement, because that's what it is: absurd. Is that how one answers when authenticity is questioned? In other words, even if there was an impostor singing, he would also have pushed the buttons! What else? Duh.

I agree that was a lame answer to her question. He could have told a story of what happened in the studio. or maybe Some fun facts of their interactions jokes mishaps in the studio etc etc. Some info on how Michaels creative process was when creating the vocals or anything to bring more light on how they made these songs. But just saying Michael sang I pushed the buttons didn't really address the question and gave us nothing. It was just so Odd. Also very weird that he has never given any stories or tid bits of all the wonderful times they spent in the studio together. Its almost like it NEVER happened.

Most producers are so happy and proud to speak about their work with MJ in the studio and speak of his genius , and creativity etc etc. But Eddie has nothing. Seems that him knowing all the doubting going on he would at least acknowledge the fans concerns and try to bring more information to the table. He seems to be hiding refuses to speak. Why? That makes it all seem more suspicious to me

Of course I believe it did happened. But Eddie's complete silence makes me believe he has something to hide. maybe He wanted to release them so badly but he was greedy and didn't want to share by allowing the estate and experts to help him with what he did have. So he secretly added, mixed and manipulated it all himself to the point of tainting and distorting it so badly you cant even decipher which vocals at all were MJ or the backups he used. He distorted to the point it isn't recognizable. It doesn't even sound like MJ vocals as we know them.

Eddie didn't know what he was doing and the fact he stated he erased all MJ's master tracks and vocals only shows he was an idiot If in fact he really did that. Every one has said.. who would such a thing, No one would. Whether they are Michael's vocals or not all the tracks are distorted. Eddie really F**ked it up. Just as if a child scribbled all over a Van Gogh with a crayon ..

After All that .. I like Eddie I wish he wouldn't have done that - And This is ALL speculation - My story changes from time to time on what I think really happened. Except the ending is always the same... Eddie really F**ked it up. Just as if a child scribbled all over a Van Gogh with a crayon ..

What is sad is that Frank describes anecdotes such as MJ smoking weed (who cares?), but Eddie doesn't describe a single anecdote in the studio while supposedly recording 12 songs with THE king of pop. (I guess MJ hoovering and taking garbage outside was easier to remember.)

I really doubt Michael recorded anything down there as claimed by Eddie. You don't record anything serious (as he claimed) in order to erase all the rest and above all in order to have copy-pastes inserted mostly from Invincible right in the middle of the sentences. Not to mention the obvious, music-wise, rip offs of previous songs (you are not alone, stranger in moscow, you rock my world, heaven can wait, they don't care about us, on the line, childhood, earth song, etc. --how serious work is that Eddie?)

However, what I think is that Eddie might have recorded some demos intended for Michael (but not sung by Michael), the same way R. Kelly sang "You are not alone" as a demo for MJ.

Regarding Teddy's claim "nobody can scream like Michael" was as lame as Eddie's answer. He must have been kidding I hope, because the screams are the copy-pastes from MJ's previous recordings!

p.s. Not only some vocals and melodies are partial rip-offs, but in the unreleased version of Monster for example, I even detected the pure and simple rip-off of the "moving stone" sound from Threatened. The shouts from "Ghosts" short film have also been removed from Monster.

Everyone

Remember this thread is now open to public, so please watch the insults and curses aimed to the parties. There's been a minor cleaning in the thread.

That wasn't LITERALLY Eddie in the pic...That was someone else :D

and don't you think that I realize that? That's what makes it a mockery. that people have no issues with putting an overweight, not looking good guy half naked in a room with made up panels and a keyboard. Don't you think that's laughing at the expense of Eddie and other legit producers who do push buttons?

Again I understand the dissatisfaction with his answer as it didn't explain much about the authenticity but some stuff written are beyond dissatisfaction and become childish mockery.

@ivy...I was kidding! I know u knew it was someone else...PLEASE lighten up

P.S. he was NOT half naked...he was wearing socks and sandals..:)

I cannot imagine a legit producer would get offended by a Michael Jackson fan playfully ridiculing a dissatisfying answer from Eddie Cascio. Of course the job of a producer is not being mocked here. It's not even about Eddie himself, just about his unintentionally funny answer.

Of course it's a bit childish, but it's just gentle ribbing. Given how heated things can get in here, I personally think it's quite alright to lighten the mood with silly jokes every now and then. Maybe that's just me...

So uhh, what's the word on these supposed lawsuits that were supposed to be going on recently?
I still wonder about this as well. I guess that there are either no particularly interesting developments or that there is not much that people can share in public.

It is sad to see this thread die down...I know a lot of people have become disheartened in this thread and about this topic, myself included lately....But I just can't let it go...I feel like I would be abandoning Michael if I abandon this topic..I just really hope we never see anymore Cascio songs being released again...If they are, I guess this thread will once again be reignited!

I know how you feel, I feel the same way. I can totally understand that people get very tired about this issue and just want to leave it behind. I have not been that active in the discussion anyway, but still cannot completely move on from at least checking this topic. It would feel like more or less accepting what has happened. I still have hope that this matter will be resolved one day and that the truth will come out. It would be great if all of us here - both doubters and believers - could toast a virtual glass of champagne and finally leave this saga behind us.
