Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I always found it funny how Priscella Presley openly voiced her disgust for Michael and believing those allegations...For the obvious reasons.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I bought it over the Christmas period (technically my mother did) but I haven't read it yet. Unfortunately I haven't had time to read that, nor other books like "Moonwalk" and J. Randy Taraborelli's (sp?) book, school has taken a lot of my time up lately.

EDIT: HE FALSIFIED EVIDENCE!!!!???? THAT EVIL, MANIPULATIVE, RACIST *******!!!!!!!!

Lots of interesting information in there, eh? The book is fantastic, though...You should really read it when you get a chance...

Yup, once again...those double standards....

Indeed, they didn't have boy's finger prints on the magazine, so they wanted to give it to him before analysis to touch it.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

That is a MASSIVE double standard!!!!! What kind of stupid system would condemn MJ for being black and proud of it while still being a powerful person while people like D.S. get off scot free!?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Contrary to Elvis, Michael became too dangerous (rich, powerful, a reference, a true king) in the eyes of some conservatives such as D.S.

The accusations started right after admitting that he was proud to be black. Some wanted to bring him down to his knees as he said it in his brilliant song 2BAD.

Exactly, unlike the Beatles and Elvis, Michael's career was not detoured by the lack of creativity, his career was maliciously sabotaged. In the early 90's when all the accusations started, Michael's career was still going on strongly. There was no sign of decline. He signed the biggest endorsement with Pepsi, started the HTW foundation, released a groundbreaking album, scored the highest viewd televised interview, toured around the world. Nothing can stop him. Some really wanted desperately to pull him down.

Welcome to a system where either you lose 'cuz you are black or win thanks to Affirmative Action.

Elvis was also destroyed by the way. They gave him drugs at will.

Priscilla Presley doesn't want Michael to be regarded as a more successful music legend than Elvis.

How can Tom Sneddon get away with falsifying evidence?

The same way he got the warrant to send an army of policemen to Neverland without any proof.

You were saying innocent until proven guilty?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

What happened to Michael was a shameful episode of injustice!

I don't know how he can look himself in the mirror or sleep at night.

Understatement of the century! The sad thing is, to an extent they worked. There are many people at my school who think negatively of MJ because of the actions of D.S. and the rest of the guilty party.

People tend to believe those in power. The same way we tend to believe in what what we are told by Sony. I guess I shouldn't elaborate further because some may perceive it as conspiracy talks.

I don't know how Jordy Chandler can live his life without feeling guilty. He gainned financially by destroying the life of another human being.

Lol. A special species of people from an alien planet called Conspiratia.

Well guess who paid the money.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

the insurance company...

In other words those whose interest was not to go on trial for years to prove Michael's innocence, but to pay the money and go on with projects in order to collect a maximum of money.

In 2001, the tenth and final year of Michael's 1-billion-dollar contract with SONY, Invincible mysteriously had less promotion, and year after year we had right to best ofs to milk us a bit.

Parallelly, who learned a lesson from the Chandlers?

And finally when the hype about MJ was back, who invested 250 million dollars?

Conspiracy theorists my a$$, those are the facts!

Exactly!

Oh man... Michael Jackson was truly one extraordinary man in every possible sense. The fact he's able to navigate all the odds against him speak volumes.

Wasn't one of her ex-husbands (Michael Edwards) a child molester? There was something about a book in which he even wrote about how he was lusting after Lisa Marie while she was a child. :bugeyed

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

To paraphrase Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction.

You know what makes Michael Jackson great? It's the little things.

Example?

The vocal affectations. The 'Dad gone it', 'the cha'mone', the 'you're dirty baby'. The fact that you find little repeating phrases like these pop up in seemingly random places.

Love it.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Cascio Controversy Thread)

And I think he'd love it too. Did you see his face when he was playing Tabloid Junkie in the clip before the interview he did with LMP? His face lit up when he was explaining the loops & beatboxing.

Talking about music instead all the rumour shite. That's what I want to hear hm talk about.

That's why the Who Is It & Give In To Me parts in Oprah will always be my favourite interview clips ever.

I agree. I think he should have NEVER allowed the media get there! He should have never talked about his private life in interviews! Never ever! Because as soon as he allowed those questions the interview inevitably went in that direction.

You hardly hear Oprah or Bashir or Sawyer etc. ask him about his music! All they want to know about is his surgeries, his nose, whether he's a virgin, who he's sleeping with bla-bla-bla.

Do you ever hear interviewers ask Bono or Paul McCartney or any serious musician questions like "Are you a virgin?" It's utterly disrespectful and it's a distraction from what they really should be talking about in interviews: his music. That's why I wish Michael had never answered questions concerning his private life in interviews.

All of which are missing on the Cascio tracks.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Cascio Controversy Thread)

The thing is, not only Michael, but the whole stuff around:

series such as Alf, the Cosby Show, Max Headroom, Sledge Hammer, Miami Vice, Mr Bean, Jack Killian (Midnight Caller), Star Treck,

Movies such as: Star Wars, Back To The Future, E.T., Poltergeist, Goonies, Beverly Hills Cop, Rambo, Rocky, Terminator,

Break Dance, Hip Hop, Heavy Metal,...
etc. etc.

It was alive! The 80s were magic, and in the middle and on top of that you had MJ the king! He seems so untouchable, so unusual, so incredible, so magical, so powerful, so energetic, so unreal...

The music industry declined when for the first time you could hear DJs making so called music with their bum-bum-bum Pump Up The Jam thang. Techno was born and music lost its value. From then on the singers were not asked to be able to sing, but to look good and that was it.

When you watch TV today it is a catastrophy! a CATASTROPHY and a TRAGEDY! The technology is advanced, we have more channels, but absolutely no ideas! We only have remakes of remakes of remakes, not to mention completely stupid shows such as Loft Story, Temptation Island, American, British, Malaysian, or whatever Idol, Big Brother, Farm celebrity, Paris f****** Hilton (can anyone tell me why is she famous? what did she exactly do? huh?) It has become so, so, so superficial and the youth has unfortunately become so desperate that their main hobby is guess what-- TO SLEEP! A generation of sleepy people with complete lack of creativeness influenced by the tv lame programs.

Look what has MTV become today. Jackass... Jackass!!!??? WTF! Who put them there on TV in the first place!?

I didn't really look into this thread before today, because I'm tired of the Cascio controversy, but now I'm reading back and it turned out to be a great topic.

I agree with the above post wholeheartedly! I was 10 when Bad came out and that was when I became a Michael fan. The son of my father's friend left a Bad casette in our car and my father put it in the player and that was it for me! I liked it immediately. It was an album which was exciting from start to finish, every song is a different style, yet there was a cohesion. So the next thing I know my father got the Bad album for me and then my MJ mania kicked off!

I feel sorry for today's youth because no magic in popular music any more. No magic in videos. No creativity. No original artists and ideas. It's like everything is strictly controlled by big corporations - and it probably is - instead of the artists themselves deciding the trends. Popular music has lost its soul.

The 80s and also early 90s were simply magic and MJ was the biggest magic of them all! Just come to think of it: an era where you had artists like Michael, Prince, The Queen.... all at once. Pure magic!

But the problem is that now we've gone completely off-topic. The conversation doesn't match the thread title.
