Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I was more excited when DYKWYCA, BG and STTR were leaked.

I cried while listening to them for the first time. Just emotional tears while listening to an unheard MJ song...Nothing beats that indescribable feeling...

It reminds me the first time I listened to Speechless. Words cannot describe the wonderful feeling... His voice is a turn-on. Simply mesmerizing.

Many think the doubters hate the album and Sony. For me, I don't. I want so much to love the album. I do love BoJ, BTM and MTS. I just cannot lie to myself and say "wow... this is a great album. this is a great video. Thanks Sony and the Estate." Becasue it's not true. I accept the fact that Michael is gone and nothing will be as good as his past works without his inputs. However, I don't want to be blindly supportive.

It´s clear that some will continue to think it´s Michael and others (like me) will think it´s Malachi.

There´s no need to fight againts us, because we already know what the other side think about the tracks and i´t sure that Amiran, Ivi, Jesta etc.. will never change what they think about the Cascio´s songs till the moment when a court will say what they don´t want to hear: That it´s Malachi in the Cascio´s songs.

The only way to go it´s to find por evidences, more proofs, try to send the info to the new members or fans outside this forum, and wait till someone, like the Jackson Family, go to court.

Good luck.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I was referring to the adlib at the end of the leaked version of Keep Your Head Up.

WHAT ABOUT ELEPHANTS?

I swear, I've never laughed so hard at the inappropriateness, what are they going to do next? Cut in Annie Are You OK adlibs into a love ballad?

Wow.

Such comment is just LOL! If you really listened to the leaked version - which was an idea by producer Tricky Stewart - you would have noticed that MJ is actually singing this:

"What about apathy?
What about apathy?
What about all their joy?
What about apathy?

What about apathy?
What about apathy?
What about all their joy?
What about apathy?"

The elephant line of the "Earth Song" has - of course(!!!) - not been sampled as it would have been totally out of context.

Many fans THOUGHT it would be "animals", "elephants", "africa"...

It's all WRONG!!! Stop spreading such false information that can be easily DISMISSED BY SIMPLY LISTENING TO IT. Thanks!!
The "What about apathy" line is an outtake that was never used on any released song.

It's also WRONG that they changed it for the album. This leaked version was never considered for the album. At the time it leaked, the version that is on the album has already been commissioned and the tracklist was set in stone.
This version just gives an insight on what kind of ideas producer Tricky Stewart had with turning the vocals into a song.
"Keep Your Head Up" is un-finished, doesn't have a climax and ending. The ending was strongly filled with a choir to back-up MJ's singing plus ad-libs from MJ's previous work tapes for other songs.

Believers, can you honestly say this is coming from Michael Jackson? Do you agree that this is the worst "heee heee heee heee" you've ever heard? And that screaming voice, it's so, so weak.

The `hee hee hee` sems like a single `hee` down pitched every time.

As I said, that track sounds like it was made using an MJ sample soundboard that chopped loads of acapellas up around one single new verse.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

"You're thinking of", how is this chopped? The lines are clearly just noramlly sang out loud.

Listen to the "shape" of the sounds, you can tell they've been manipulated and edited. It's very obvious with the "you keep on breaking the news" part of the acapella you can tell that its actually You/Kee/Pon/Brea/kking/the/new thats been sliced out of other acapellas and joined up to make the sounds.

Listen to the identical "youre" on your sample between phrase one and phrase two.

The editing and patching on Breaking News was disgusting, like I said - That song only had one new verse in there and the rest was a hack job.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Yes, I agree that some parts in BN are chopped but not the part I just posted. It still doesn't sound like Michael's scream. It's just too weak.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Pretty sure the hee's-hee's in BN are sampled from In The Closet, we've discovered this before when the initial song leaked, and were naming all the songs where the copy and pasted ad-libs came from. It's in the same key and tone, it's been pitched down and repeated to seem "new".

(5:10)

You can even hear the original vibrato from In The Closet before it's cut and followed with the processed/melodyne'd/etc. one.

Some were doubting that part so much lol.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I've heard the one from ITC, but it's just not clear enough to tell. Even in the a cappella.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

It's Malachi in all the Cascios tracks.

I don't want excuses. It's not Mj.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

LOL, good one!

By the way, listen how strong his vocals are compared to Jason.

Yep, and MJ was 15 years younger as well and these were retail cuts, recorded and engineered by pros, not in Casio Cascios bargain basement PVC pipe studio.

Put all the pieces together and its clear that somewhere in all of the songs theres a tiny bit of new MJ and a whole load of cut n paste/computer manipulation and legacy degradation going on.

If it really was a case of faking the news like you all think then someone would have sued, you honestly think Joe Jackson wouldn't be riding the legal corpse of MJs legacy like a deadmans skateboard all the way to court by now?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Well, they don't have the "proof that can hold up in court", do they, so why bother?

Chandler and co didn't have any "proof that can hold up in court" either but look how far all that went.

Trust me, if there was even a sliver of reasonable doubt there would have been injunctions (and not twitters) flying around.

Simply put, you are listening to the private, demo, work in progress recordings of a broken, overworked man that were never intended to be released and instead have been computerized up the anus to squeeze as much money as they can from his memory.

I feel so sorry for MJ from the bottom of my heart for the life he was forced to lead but I jump in joy for the music he created and shared that helped me get through my life.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Why did they end up sounding exactly like Jason Malachi to me then? Because of all the lame excuses? I don't buy it and I never will, sorry.

imho, all these chopping, copying & pasting, computer manipulating, meloydning, PVC-piping and pitching are just as bad as hiring an imposer.

they basically tried to make something out from nothing.

so, they have a tiny bit of MJ and put tons of old samples in and sell the songs as MJ's "unreleased materials"?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Please don't take offense to this, Pentum but could it be that because the voice sounds so different to you that you immediately think to Malachi because he's essentially the poster-boy for MJ imitators?

@love, that is essentially what they did, yes. I agree, it's very unethical to make something than nothing, but some fans (myself included) enjoy the songs) unfortunately these songs are very fragmented and a LOT was done to complete it. This is the reality we live in, sadly.

For the same reason that all Chinese people look alike to westerners - The brain has a reductive correlation filter that latches onto similarities instead of differences. Think of the amount of times you think you've seen a friend across the street only to realize that it's not when you get closer.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I wonder what SETH RIGGS would say about the cascio tracks vocals?????

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

His input would be invaluable. Too bad he's seemed to close himself off from the situation...

I still don't buy it. We've all heard MJ doing demos, recording in bad quality, mumbling, not giving his best in rehearsals with both HD audio and bad audio. It always sounds like Michael Jackson.

@Jesta: I just follow my ears. First word out of the singers mouth in BN that night it streamed, I instantly knew it was Jason. I know other MJ imitators as well, but this time it was Jason.

I respect your opinions but to be honest, MJ supposedly sung 12 tracks, complete with tons of Layered vocaling and tried out various vocal techniques. No one in his adult life forced him to sing anything in the studio regardless of time frames he had to complete albums MJ went at his pace, MJ made the decisions when and where it was right to record.

Isn't it just as disgusting as hiring an impersonator?

I'm willing to believe these are indeed MJ's demos with a truck load of processing and manipulations. It still doesn't make the songs genuine.

Allowing such insults to Michael's crafts is as disrespectful as faking songs.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

But I don't think we've really heard MJ with the kind of elements employed with these tracks. Heck, as Dorian said, "Monster" almost sounds like it was spoken rather than sung in the verses, but they used so much stuff to make it "releasable". I'm not denying that his voice is different, but we haven't heard a heavily processed/cut-and-pasted MJ song before, at least I'm somewhat sure that we haven't.

@Love, in a perfect world, these songs wouldn't be released because of what you outlined. And yes, It's clear that SONY is in this for the money (obviously as they're a company) and the Estate want to release as much new material as possible (to generate revenue for the beneficiaries), regardless of the quality. It's a sad situation, but in all fairness, there could very well be a gem in the Cascio sessions.
