Michael - The Great Album Debate

Yes, but the only reason it sold is because it was not long after Michael's death. If Michael was released today, it would not come near the number it has sold today...

Yep that makes sense. It paid off too. Hold My Hand seemed to be the only successful single off Michael. I remember seeing it in the top ten on iTunes for a while after it's release. My most favourite song on the album too :p

Don't forget that Hollywood Tonight did peek at #1 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs chart, it's MJ's first since Scream.

Well, it was a year and a half after Michael's death so I don't think it was that. I think it was more so the fact it was the first album of unreleased Michael Jackson recordings since his death that made it more successful. While that 'Michael Jackson had died' wave had finished by then, I think a decent number of people were still curious about his unreleased recordings. That's just my take anyway :)

I disagree. It took at least 2 whole years before the "Michael death" was hyped down, at least in my opinion. One and a half year after his death, when the album hit, people were still in shock, he was still being talked about in the media, etc.

Wow, can't believe this thread is still on going 3 years later, you go guys.

Didn't get that

There's a guy on twitter who seems to claim he knows 90% of the world. He posts really awkward pics often with celebrities with him in the background or whatever. Always claims he met MJ but no one's seen any pics/knows when and he blocks you when you ask. He's a director with like 300k followers, but some of the MJ fans on twitter can be so funny about him.

Yeah, I know the guy (I follow him). Don't know, seems like a nice guy, spreading good facts, words, etc. about Michael everyday. Don't have nothing against that. I have never seen a picture though, but it's possible to have met Michael without pictures.

Sometimes he says good stuff but he does also make some pretty far fetched claims. Nothing against him defending MJ.

Jw224, Welcome to the infamous Michael - The Great Album Debate thread aka Michael - The Fake Songs Debate thread!

Somethin's fishy about them Cascio songs. Don't think it's our Michael Jackson, buddies.

Yeah, neither do I. Most of them don'tt sound anything like him lol. Not to mention no proof has been provided by sony or the cascios to prove it was him. They say that the voice was altered from the original demos. Even though snippets of the demos have leaked, and the full demo of all I need has leaked, and they sound the exact same as the album versions.
