I can almost certainly guarantee that Branca regrets the Cascio decision and won't be pushing for the tracks to be released any time soon. We have to think about this realistically: it would be a PR nightmare if these tracks were publicly denounced by the Estate two and a half years after being released, and I'm certain that they don't want to draw any more attention to them. The tracks are out now, and the damage is done. Nothing will really fix that now, but I commend the Estate for at least trying to make up for it with the comparatively incredible Bad 25 box-set and documentary, when compared to Thriller 25 and "Michael". That genuinely seemed like an attempt to win the favor of the fans back, and I would say that it largely succeeded.
I honestly don't see the voice tracks at the beginning of Breaking News an issue: it's part of a soundscape with Tabloid Junkie's voice tracks to heighten it. Likewise, the 50 Cent rap was eh: not damaging but not really a highlight to anything. Those two things are not damaging to ONE, as they weren't damaging to IMMORTAL. Aside from the slow start that IMMORTAL had, I thoroughly began to enjoy myself as soon as Dancing Machine started! And I'm sure that many, MANY people will enjoy ONE. Hell, I'm hoping for another soundtrack album from Cirque! I still listen to IMMORTAL occasionally.
I saw some people on Twitter acting as if the inclusion of the Breaking News reporter tracks was a big betrayal and lie by John Branca. It's not; it's really not. If questionable vocals appear in the show (which - if Kevin Antunes doesn't have the good sense to exclude from this show as he eventually did with IMMORTAL - I'm sure a fan committee that will inevitably see a preview of the show before it open in May will tell them of the situation), THEN it becomes a big issue. But as it stands, it really isn't.
Slightly off-topic, but I LOVED the design of the Paparazzi in that demonstration!
