Michael - The Great Album Debate

Best Of Joy, Another Day, Hollywood Tonight, Behind The Mask, Hold My Hand

All better than anything that was on the two albums before it.

So all those songs are better than let's say:

Earth Song, They Don't Care About Us, Stranger In Moscow, Little Susie, Tabloid Junkie, 2BAD, Scream, Childhood, You Are Not Alone, Scream, Unbreakable, Break Of Dawn, Heaven Can Wait, Whatever Happens, Speechless, Butterflies, Heartbreaker, 2000 Watts, ...?

LOL :D

Better than HIStory & Invincible? I'm a big fan of "MICHAEL" but I cannot say better than those two, it might be better than Blood On The Dance Floor but that is because it only had 5 new songs.

I'm pretty sure the Cascio tracks are the greatest MJ songs ever; no other song in Michael, Invincible, can compare. ;D

I used to think Invincible era was the best vocally, until I heard the Cascio era. The raw emotion and vibrato is unprecedented.

The 5 new songs on Blood On The Dance Floor is a billion times better than the whole Michael album.

I liked Michael overall more than HIStory but not quite as good as Invincible. None of the upbeat songs - BTM and HT, initially had that so-called "modern" beat, they were remixed more recently. New Jack Swing is somewhat outdated and some fans feel Teddy already dragged Michael's music behind with it in the Dangerous era. Pretty sure that the last few years in pop music were about synths, dubstep and loud fat bass drums (think GANGNAM STYLE)

these days I've been bored so I've been obsessing myself over the (laughable) idea that MJ sang the Cascio tracks. I've tried playing back Cascio tracks while watching MJ dance and saying to myself "IT'S TOTALLY MICHAEL JACKSON"! Well it's not working -_-

taste in any kind of art is highly subjective. and I don't think there's rule about which song of Michael we should love the most. For example very uncommonly BOTDF and PYT are in my top 10. Similarly in my book "price of fame" tops some songs released by Michael.

She wrote me a letter, it's burning in my heart...

Not sure about this forum of the ratio between believers and doubters, but on YouTube, the vast majority of comments are that it is Michael singing. The thing is they say the same thing on Jason Malachi's songs.

I like it that you too love BOTDF and Price Of Fame so much :)!
Love,

My favorite is "Let Me Let Go", and those who say it's not MJ singing it, they are conspiracy theorists.

Yeah it sounds different cos it's processed. Whatever that means. And he recorded it in a room with blue coloured walls which makes you sound different.

Exactly, anyway, art is subjective, and no one can call me deaf, 'cuz I know it is MJ on that track. It's obvious it is Michael's vocal technique when he's a bit sick and playing around in a friend's basement studio.

Who doesn't love those two songs if you're a hardcore MJ fan?

They're not exactly rare.

what I was trying to say that there's no rule that a major hit like "Billie Jean" should be our Number 1 song or we should put the songs released in Michael's lifetime above the posthumous releases. Also when you add the subjectivity of personal taste in regards to preference of any type of art, it's possible that some people can place the songs from posthumous albums (whether it's Michael or Bad 25) above the previously released songs.

Fall In Love is so...Average.

Water is a dead giveaway as well. There's this line "You ain't judgin' me, you just touchin' me, you aint ****in' me", it sounds like "buggin'" but I'm pretty sure it's not. Michael would never be so blunt, he'd think of some nice family-friendly metaphor and make it work. Something that the singer in these songs isn't able to do. Another giveaway that I never noticed before until now is the vocal lay-out on all of these songs, it's so basic. It's as if the person singing doesn't know how to sing along with the beat. It's more obvious in songs like Water and Fall In Love. But it's really present on all of them.

Let Me Let Go is the best MJ song ever, anyone who says it ain't him, I'm coming for you like a zig-zag and you'll be running to escape it but your gunning for the money so you'll fake it

Just heard Fall In Love and Ready 2 Win full. Can't find Water in full. So funny. Fall In Love is the best. Heaven Can Wait part.. Hahahaha..

I have never, ever in 25 years of MJ fandom been irritated or annoyed by any of MJ's songs, ever! But the voice on those leaks you're talking about irritate my ears, my body and my soul. That voice does not match Michael's in a zillion of years and no processing will ever render that voice to match Michael's. Those who still claim it's Michael's voice on those songs, you guys really need to get down to Earth and stop fooling yourselves.

It's things like this that have made this a "Doubters" only Thread...

We have to remember that either you're a "Believer" or "Doubter" whatever you say about these songs is just your OPINION there's no need to say that "Believers" are fools or just want to accept the official statement because that is not true. The same way you guys say you believe your ears we do the same.

Just saying.

Man I am telling you if u hear the leaks and if THAT is MJ's vocie, then you're lost. The falsetto and the vibrato and generally speaking the voice timbre is NOT Michael's. The voice is simply HORRIBLE. It lacks power, it's choked, it's vibrating like woody woodpecker's, it's out of tune, it sounds NOTHING like Michael's voice. And that's not my opinion, all those characteristics are FACTS that have nothing in common with MJ's voice whatsoever.

Now you keep believeing and fooling yourself as long as you want.
