Michael Jackson's Vision' DVD Boxed Set Available Everywhere Monday November 22

Some people are complaining about what is on this boxset. You want everything? All in one go?... So then what, No more releases ever? Is that what you want? Because I know I don't.
There will come a time when there is nothing else.
I am happy for things to be released over the years to come..
Not all one one boxset in one go.

Its abit silly to say that because whats the point of putting (90%?) of the things he did on this, and not release the other (10%?) what other people are coming up with, like Unbreakable & WBSS2008 and a couple others. Id rather have them have 100% on this. Then from then on, focus on the music, giving us unreleased music. They have put the majority of all the videos on this collection. What can they do with what is left? Nothing tbh. So they might as well put it all in on this one. Then give us unreleased music eventually.

Just my opinion though. :)

Wat about Come Together & Dirty Diana? Both of them are also live performances.

They are pseudo-live performances. It's made up, not from an actual concert. They have been cut like music videos, been shot several times, several angles, in a studio, the crowd is paid to be there, etc. They are not live performances for sure.

Yep, they are performance videos not LIVE videos. The idea of the video is to show a performance and has stylistic editing. Same goes for Give into me (Although a bit more spectacular with the special effects.) APOM may have even been edited from several concerts, which that video was done to promote the BAD concert experience.

Throwing a live concert on this collection would have been odd, with the exception of maybe a Dangerous performance, as that never had a proper video. Don't worry guys, a BAD concert will eventally be released, this stuff takes time to get right. It's also why a Blu ray of his videos are not out yet, it's going to take time and money to get these videos properly remastered in high def. I wouldn't doubt if this project will be used to fund the HD transfers.

Thanks for clearing that up, the only reason I guessed the omntage video was beiing used is that I didn't see any clips from the Euro version in the promo video for "Vision" but I did see some live clips used in the montage version.

I personally think the video for "Who Is It" is terribly underrated. It's a great modern Michael video and I love the dark atmosphere, and Michael looks incredible!

I agree. I sure hope it's the Euro version in the box set (and I think it is, because they say the director is David Fincher)! I never understood why they didn't show this video in the US.

BTW, the song is terribly underrated too. It's my favourite MJ song!

What about "This Is It" (directed by Spike Lee) and "HIStory" [Remix] music videos?

I don't think that Who Is It is underrated. It's maybe underrated if you ask someone non-fan but fans think it's awesome... as can be seen in polls! :)

I like Who Is It video too. Hope it gets released.

Too bad there's nothing very special new thing coming expect for One More Chance. But it's great song, can't wait to see the video! :)

I meant underrated by the general public. But then by the general public every MJ song is underrated apart from Beat it and Billie Jean....

I also wish that there was more material on the third disc; maybe they'll release a special edition after, with some extra footage?! Would be a good marketing ploy. I'm pre-ordering this on the HMV website as soon as i get paid :)

... and Thriller.

At least here Thriller gets played around Halloween pretty much.

But yeah, I think it would be great if Who Is It video was released worldwide. :)

There's some real stupid comments in this thread. MJ Supporters are seriously the best and worst supporters you can get. You need to look at it from a business point of view. Do you really think they will release everything they have in the next year? What would they sell for the rest of time? Not alot.

If Jackson's works were all released at the same time and close together then there would never be any new albums or concert releases ever. They don't have Michael to turn to to make new martial, they have to make what they left last. Just think what it's like to be a Elvis fan, there's no martial left anymore and we are starting to spit the dummy after only a year.

I am with you Lorraine.

I dont want everything at once, can you just imagine not getting anymore releases, that would really be like Michael has gone 4 ever! Thats the time it will really sink in , and the time i sink into deep depression!

For the people who are just watching MJ videos and not really watching, they should stick with the two History dvds and the Dangerous dvd and stop complaining.
these dvds have very poor vhs quality. the number ones, visionary and thriller 25th have new transfers of the videos. especially thriller 25th have remastered picture. It's been cleaned up, sharpened and the colours are better. For the number ones and visionary are used the same masters and the difference is very minimal almost none.
Still none of them have the full collection of the videos in full lenght. We have to wait to see how much remastered are they in comparison to the last releases.
His dvds definitely needed an update. I'm sure many of us don't have the visionary and number ones dvd misses half of the videos, so to me not unnecessary release at all.
I prefer blu-ray release, but only if the videos have proper hi-def transfers, not just some stupid upscales to fool the costumers.

Keep in mind that the ads say "Remastered Color" not Remastered picture or restored, hmmmmm that makes me think that all they have done is digitally "brightened and contrasted" the videos. I doubt these are all new transfers. They may look better, but they won't look their best if that is case. One way to know for sure is if some of the wide screen videos are Anamorphic (WII,YRMW etc.), if they are still letterboxed than I'm pretty sure it's just some tweaking to the existing versions.

I just don't understand one thing and would like to have it clear before buying it for sure: will there be 2 versions? The press release says something about it being limited with the book.
Then you go to the official Sony store and it says absolutely nothing about the book and there's only the U$39 one. Is it one and the same? Or is it some kind of misleading product (I mean, let's say I pre-order it now and expect the book, since it's on the pics even with no mention... then suddenly they announce the version with the book and mine isn't - and the one with the book is like double the price)?

I just want it. Now. lol That's why I would like to know...

I agree. How can this be "all of his music videos/short films on one set" if they all aren't there? (I don't think Unbreakable was ever made, though?) There's not many missing but still.. it's silly to leave those few out.

And about wanting all at once, I didn't want any behind the scene, concert or performance material on this one, those should be released separately :) But imo this should have really all the videos that have been made.

I'd like to know that too!

"Here, for the first time, is the complete collection of all 35 of the short films produced by Michael during his career as a solo artist..."

...We should keep hoax talk out of this.

If your referring to my post, there was indeed an Unbreakable promo video made by Sony.
It was a Montage video of previous concerts, mostly from bad and dangerous if I remember correctly. There was never an official all new Unbreakable video ever made.

Why would they include that? It wasn't directed by Michael, nor is it an actual video, if it's a video made up of concert footage, I don't think it'd be very wise to include it in this boxset.

Hoax talk? Eh? I was just trying to make the point that the videos included in the box set are ones produced by Michael, which is why not every single video to do with MJ is included.

aside from botdf not being the normal song and no whatupwitu i dont have number ones so this set has 12 new to me videos whee

The Trailer is amazing! Hope the boxset is too!
Can't wait to see the music video of One More Chance!
BTW, it costs $39.98 USD.
But I'm still buying it! Must start to save.

Right but there were not made in tour like APOM in Wembley but in studio like GITM :cheeky:
