On the other hand :puke:

I think Sony have lost the interactivity with fans and they missed the point...., until fans are going to boycott such releases.

IMO its another professional failure.

TOTAL professional flop :swoon::doh:
(what did they think that hardcore and older fans were going to be so excited of this?
We are not dumb to buy anything they will release, they degrade Michael´s status)

For example, where is BEN video?

michael´s career did not start in 1979!!!

Since, you think this unreleased DVD collection is another "professional failure", may I ask you, in your opinion, what is the other Michael Jackson release that is a "professional failure"? And, based on what professional standard? From marketing point of view? engineering point of view? commercial point of view? artistic point of view?

I, personally, have a hard time assoicating the words "professional failure" with the name Michael Jackson. Michael never ever had a bad album, at least from my non-expert point of view.

Also, I just would like to say that neither Sony nor the Estate owns the right to Ben or any song recorded by Michael and his brothers during the Jackson Five era. Universal/Motown has the right to all Jackson Five recordings.

It seems people have an habit of pointing finger to Sony and the Estate for things that go against their wishes.

Is the Another Part Of Me video the one showing MJ perform the song on his Bad Tour? Because it says the vid is 4:45 but im looking on youtube and i can only find the one that is 3:50.

I seem to remember the video having a longer intro when I saw it back in the 80's. Like more of the montage footage of the bad tour before the song starts. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me. If so, then maybe the youtube version is edited some?

im gonna buy it of course.. why not? its mj... but id pay $60 easily for a blu-ray version!

The version that i have (BT one) goes for 4:43 so it's probably this one. the first 50 odd seconds are clips of Michael and audiences so the YT versions probably have that chopped off.

Will there be a Blu-Ray version released? Can't seem to find that anywhere!!

Ummm.... there was NO Ben video

Plus Sony doesn't own the rights to any of Michael's work pre 1976

Sony Sucks;
I am fan of the Michael since 2003...I never had the chance to feel the true magic...How much I was almost arriving in the alias process… xxxxx.
My God, what I would make to come back at the time of Off The Wall. *********
But that is good, them they will not be able to launch plus these videos. This will be the last collection.
I put some responses in bold

Am I the only one here who doesn't have the previous DVDs and is happy to buy that box for such a nice price with a book included (anyway, is the version avaible for pre-order now at the Sony store the one with the book?)? Maybe because I don't have 'em, I'm able to look that way and not think "OMG I HAVE 'EM ALL!! SONY SUCKS!!"...

Quit complaining. If you're not happy with it, there are people who are happy. Look for another topic and wait for new material instead... Some of you even sound kinda selfish sometimes when complaining like that (no offense meant to anyone, just being sincere).

-Sony doesn't own any rights to footage or music pre 1976. For the Ultimate Collection, they had to get a license to include the J5 era tracks on the set

-The Jacksons' first video was in 1976 or 1977

-Sony doesn't own the rights to footage such as Captain EO, Making of Thriller, and Ghosts. Not to mention John Landis and the estate is still in litigation and Landis did say that after all of that is settled, a DVD release of Making Michael Jackson's Thriller will be released.

-This pretty much includes all of Michael's videos on one set, that should be enough to buy IMO. How many DVD compilations have been released?

Video Greatest Hits: HIStory
HIStory on Film Vol II
Number Ones
Dangerous: The Short Films

and 3 out of 4 were simple re-reissues of VHS releases

Releasing this is a great and smart idea on the estate and Sony's part

+1

I really don't see the point of people complaining about it. If you don't want it, don't buy it, simple. But why all the negativity?

Whether you are pleased with the announcement or not, there is one universal positive we can gather from it. We will see new Michael Jackson material on store shelves ready to be discovered and re-discovered by the non-hardcore fans. People will be in there buying something new from Michael. Even if it isn't all 'new', this is the thing most fans are after. If you want a complete, official guide to Michaels videography, this is what you need.

Regular music listeners will no doubt pick this up out of curiosity and to be informed of the videos and music they didn't know of before. New Michael material out there ready to be seen by a new generation of buyers has got to be a good thing, right?

Exactly. Sony doesn't just think of hard core fans. I think it will be a big success with the general public, casual fans etc. ALL of Michael's videos in one box set and on a good price. Some casual/new fans/general public don't even know some of these videos (because at their time the mainstream media didn't give them the credit they deserved). For example I'm suprised how many Americans don't know the video for Who is it or the prison version of TDCAU.

it's a very nice project, especially for new fans!we got to think to this kids that are falling in love with Michael now too:)

MICHAEL JACKSON'S - VISION - Official DVD Trailer (I hope)

Love the trailer, it's always awesome to sizzle with Mike :D

I'm excited for the APOM video (full, even - Sony ain't holding back with this one!).

And for all the moaners. I mean, this box is with every single music video/short film from Michael's solo albums on Sony. E-VE-RY SINGLE ONE! (Because Brace Yourself and the HIStory teaser ain't music videos, truth?)

This is not a compilation of making of-videos or live performances (excluding APOM which, however, was still released as a music video, hence it's included). It is a single collection of short films. And that's that.

And not including J5-material or Captain EO only means one thing - Sony don't have the rights to include them. And that's that.

I, for one, am SO AWESOMELY EXTREMELY EXCITED for the box set! The design looks stunning (not cheap at all, IMO) and I cannot wait for the remastered audio tracks (crossed fingers for 5.1 surround sound!!!!).

THANKS SONY! This looks awesome.

....

That being said, now that THIS is outta the way - let's get to the REALLY exciting releases, okay boys? ;)

The Trailer is amazing! Hope the boxset is too!
Can't wait to see the music video of One More Chance!
BTW, it costs $39.98 USD.
But I'm still buying it! Must start to save.

Wat about Come Together & Dirty Diana? Both of them are also live performances.

You think the complaining is bad now....I'm afraid of when people see the OMC video! I wonder how they gonna rip that part also!? Cause the way people are acting it is almost a guarantee this will happen! SMH

Can't wait!

The best music DVD package release by any artist - EVER!

This collection shows why MJ truly is; 'The King of Music Video' (Sorry Michael -'Short Films'). ;-)

And all for £20!!??

I wonder how complete the OMC video will be?? If they had enough footage in the can to put a decent music video together it makes you wonder why they didn't just do that back in 2003.

I'm trying not to set my hopes too high for this video. The song is a ballad, so it's not as if we're going to be getting dance routines and special effects etc. But this is kind of a big deal. In the last 12 years we've only had one music video from Michael.... it will be so surreal seeing a "new" music video from him after all this time.

The last ever Michael Jackson video. :(

Question: Is there gonna be 2 versions available?

So called normal package with only 3 DVD's and then limited edition that in addition contains a 60-page glossy hard-bound book that has behind-the-scenes photos from Michael's personal archives.

Anyone?

isnt one more chance on the number ones dvd?

It's on the Number Ones album, not on DVD.

On MichaelJackson's Youtube they have Another Part Of Me that is 4:44 so that's probably the one.

oooo released a day after my 19th birthday!!
im sooooo getting this!!
looks class!!! :D :D

Thanks! Apparently this video is blocked for my country :(

One more reason to get this dvd. Another Part Of Me was always one of my favorite videos of Michael, until my mother said: 'why are you always showing this as the utmost great thing MJ has ever done, it's so mediocre for his standards.' Uhm? It is? I don't really think so, but her comment is always in the back of my head when I watch the video (short version).

The trailer is looking very good, although some snippets of Earth Song and Jam in it would've made it even better.
