Prove in case Top Gun Maverick, Barbie and Oppenheimer. Itās a day out, an activity, streaming is not.
Yeah, 3 movies out of a hundred at least. When word of mouth is good, or when the subject is interesting enough, people tune in. Most films fell way under metric. The new Indiana Jones comes to mind.
Bad news about MJ sells as strong if not stronger than good news after all. That's something that should be kept in mind, possibly weaponized on our half.
Games for example are not. I donāt play games.
The Wii was exceptionally popular with people who don't play games. The Switch has that same energy. Michael Jackson would convince probably a few people to try out a console at least once. If you have kids, nephews, nieces, cousins, then sometimes you do end up playing them. And on mobile devices, it's way easier to penetrate these casual audiences.
We're not talking about scale, again, remember that. Of course movies penetrate easier. I'm talking about potential scale of their audience. Maybe a different audience, that overlaps with movie viewers but still different. I personally don't go to theaters very much, so biopic won't really get my viewership in that way and fashion. That hardly means it's gonna be unpopular.
You using this word like that makes me chafe. No other comment necessary.
All of this means he has a limited audience these days.
He always did have a limited audience, that audience has simply changed due to being outnumbered in society. I mean, was Elvis ever popular in Taiwan? Or Argentina? Meanwhile MJ is very popular there. And this was way before "Invincible" and even "Dangerous", as Mistered Richard, 76, would say is the case.
It's an A24 film though, and they are becoming very popular. And it's not pulling any punches on him either, seemingly. Honestly more like Leaving Neverland for Elvis from the looks of it. But based on the straight up facts, not a narrative.
