"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

You don't care that she was forced to say what she said at the time..?
No, I don't care why La Toya acted the way she did. I didn't see any bruises or blood on her. I have a brother and I would never do such a monstrous thing to him. What kind of excuse is this that your husband forced you?? How did he blackmail her? Divorce or money? The only reason I could justify her speech was because it was a real death threat to someone in the family. But I don't remember such a reason

I'm not sure I can buy the husband thing completely either. He may have encouraged her to go in front of the cameras, but there had to be something in her already. I remember her being very outspoken about Michael's wrongdoing, she spoke in a very attacking manner and ... like you said, it would have to have been an imminent and direct threat to make her shout out words like that.

Are you serious? Who are you to judge?
Even the press photo capture reads "Michael Jcakson's wayward sister LaToya Jackson after she had been beaten up in 1990."

Then here, the pics after Jack Gordon banged her head on a table in 1990:

Then La Toya breaking down in tears during this 1991 interview:

In April 1993, Jack Gordon called the police himself because he beat her so badly he thought she was dead.

Some pictures from the police report when La Toya filed for divorce in 1996:

In 1994, the FBI discovered Jack Gordon was involved with the mafia. He was the main suspect in two murder cases in the 70s and in one attempted murder in the 80s. He threatened to kill her, Michael and Janet. Even Jerome Howard said he threatened to kill him: “Gordon threatened my life when I questioned him about some major expenses he and La Toya were running up on Joe’s account. The man is dangerous. But La Toya feels Joe is the dangerous one. “Do you know my father?” she once asked me. “No, you don’t,” she answered for me. “You don’t know what he’s like. You don’t know what I’ve been through.”

La Toya ran away with Jack Gordon thinking he would free her from her father's control, and she ended up in a situation even worse, that's what happened.

Jeff Sneider talks about the biopic new date here after 1:00:05

Says it's a sign of confidence, and he see it makes more than 1 billion.
Thanks for sharing. Makes sense promo-wise as he said. So guessing a Superbowl teaser would be out of the question too?

So... don't electrocute me for this question, but a fair share of cross questioning should be allowed. For those of you who have come accross pictures of beaten women, are their bruises normally this ... regularly shaped?

As for the banging her head on the table... wouldn't she have a broken nose rather than a well rounded bruise on her eye?
I feel terrible for asking these, but like I said cross questioning should be allowed in all cases.

As forJack Gordon thinking she was dead and calling the police... I can imagine this would have triggered the authorities big time. Does anyone know if he was ever charged and/or sentenced?

As for the interview... that was one cringeworthy interview... La Toya did not do her credibility any favour with it. I mean who would come to a televised interview with flowers in her hair when you talk about beaing a victim of such physical violence?!

As for the Spanish journalist... He was totally gaslighting her. The whole thing was seriously lacking any normatives. Seriously? Music in the background when a victim of physical abuse is talking? Is it just me or is this seriously awkward?

I am interested in this also.

Latoya`s husband for sure was terrible person. I don`t know the degree of violence that happens to Latoya. But for sure it is a big terrible act to accuse the brother of abusing children.
I don't know if Michael really ever forgave her. I could not. In the end of the day Latoya is a shady person and I am not sure if Gordan was really the one who comes with the idea in order to get money. Latoya did shady things all the years after that. Going into Michael's house with her then friend Jeffrey and stealing his things, unsing Michael's kids for pink drinks, making stuff up in her book and so on. She is a not credible person.

This for sure I am certain about too.

Jack Gordon admitted he beat her, why should it be questioned at this point? After he called the police, she was taken to the hospital and needed stitches because her lip was split open. Her wounds were very real.

As for the banging her head on the table... wouldn't she have a broken nose rather than a well rounded bruise on her eye?
He hit her head on the edge of the table, so not her whole face hit the table.

He was arrested, but La Toya refused to press charges, so nothing happened and she went back home with him. Jack Gordon had cancer at the time and he claimed the cancer treatments caused him to have sudden outbursts of violence (which is a ridiculous excuse of course).

I don't know if Michael really ever forgave her. I could not.
He might have forgiven her, but I don't think he could ever trust her again. He may have still loved her, but they were never again as close as they used to be. Or as they say, forgive but don't forget.

Katherine knows Tito is dead, can you take the L already dude? You get stuck on the weirdest tangents.
Take the L? Bruh when will you realize idgaf about what you say to me! I didn't ask you for your opinion & I don't care to hear it by default either.

Why don’t you two just block each other so you don’t see each others post rather ethan subject us to the constant bickering and bitching

Oh wow, I didn't even know there was an option to block a poster on this board. You would think after all these years I would have used it before, but no... it's a first of. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. It will be used with great pleasure and a comforting relief.
