Thank you. This thread now makes me SO sad. I might have contributed more, but it goes off-track so badly, and so often. . . . This is a VERY hard time of the year, and not actually harder for any one of us who loved him, than others. I now realize that this "problem" will NOT stop.

For Susie, I'd say, I am SO sorry for your grief. AND, for us all? But, you seem not to understand that you have upset so many, and in the end, I do hope you will come to some sort of balance and closure? IF you knew Michael, you were NOT the only one who did. You can't seem to engage with the topic of this thread, except to put yourself ABOVE all others. That is simply not the case.

Who really knows where all of Michael's song-lyrics came from? But, this beautiful little thread is about ROMANCE, and fantasy, and speculation. Friendships have been formed here, and the LOVE is obvious.

Susie, I am SO sorry, but can you please listen to what others are actually saying, and understand what this thread really is all about? Especially NOW?

The thing I take issue with, most of all, is that Michael could not POSSIBLY given permission to post his private thoughts. I have no idea if those IM sessions that imply are with HIM are "real," or not "real." But if real, there is NO confusion about what his wishes would have been, two YEARS later? He protected his privacy, at all costs. If you knew him at ALL, you would understand that, and cherish whatever you might have had, but also, NOT SHARE IT. Michael deserves that much.

Ummm...still waiting for All In Your Name. That could just get me on topic...we shall see. I might have to be a little creative with it, but yeah....

Well, I heard the lyrics, and I don't think we are going to have to work all that hard to make things fit afterall. It is a powerful song, sung beautifully by Barry (verses), and the chorus, of course, is when MJ comes in. There is enough to gather that the song is talking about romanitc love, a love between a woman and a man, but some lyrics would make it also extend beyond that, and then the fans would be included --> (I'll put that line in green bold for ya down below)

As always, my heairng has its limitation, plus at times Barry's accent is also a factor for me, so there are lyrics I just can't at this point, get. Sorry. Maybe eventually, what I have missed others will hear clearly. I hope so.

The gist of the song reminds me of something AllForMJ posted long ago...an excerpt from an interview where MJ says this (bolded):

Beautiful song, really, don't you all think, even based on the words alone? And Barry sing his parts with feeling and passion. He did a great job with it. :yes:


The title and the whole idea of this song reminds me of something I think I brought up in here before of how Mj tells the Rabbi on "those tapes" that his striving to succeed and impress was not just for his dad but "someone else"...so the title "It's All in Your Name" does fit if he did so much of what he did for his LITD girl to notice him and be impressed, and...love him back.

It went something like this:

Michael Jackson: I wanted to become such a wonderful performer that I would get loved back.

Rabbi Shmuley: You thought if you became a great star, very successful and loved by the world, your father would love you too?

So, what does everyone think...is the song "It's All In Your Name" a song that can work in here? I still think it works for the fans as well, and Barry did say that. Bu it is pretty hard to ignore the "man and a woman" part. Yes?

I really like the song and enjoyed your post. I love hearing his new music. So beautiful and heavenly. After listening a while though, it sounds like he is talking about God and His plan and believing He is there watching us follow our dreams. Maybe they are singing about how people do have to stand up for what's right and say no (when it's needed). Where is the peace if we aren't willing to stand up for it? Just sounds more like it's about God/peace/Gods plan/following MJ through the gates of paradise..lol. Well.. I guess ministering to people and bringing them to God (who is our paradise), and ALL of this is in God's name. That's what I'm seeing at the moment in the song.

Thanks for asking! I hope all are well. Things are calm here for me at the home front. My husband got out of the hospital after more than two weeks of them trying to get his levels at a safe place. Once released, last week, he went straight up with his mom to where she lives at a senior apartment, all set up with wider doorways for walkers and wheelchairs, and bars and seat in shower area, etc. She is in the Santa Maria area and he is already going to a very good out-patient program up there that focuses on Neuro-Therapy (post stroke). His mom is also a Type-2 diabetic and understands the dietary needs and how to check blood by finger-pricking at key points during the day. So he is in good, and loving hands, and emails updates. So I am busy with doing projects around the house, and my son and I are doing fine.

So there is a little update for ya all.

On a more amusing note, at least it gave me a chuckle...

What amused me is the photo he selected(could have just been random, but...lol) for when the lyrics he is singing are:

Then she answered "no" to me!

I always think I sound like a 12 year old because people often as me on the phone "is your mother home?" and I reply "she might be but you'd have to phone her." lol Always mistaking me for my two daughters. Thankfully I don't sound like my son or youngest daughter. Oh the confusion. That was really sweet what you said though . I really have enjoyed our talks on the phone. I don't often talk on the phone to people I know online. No reason really but just doesn't come up and it's easy enough to talk here. Plus there is a bit of nervousness on a phone as opposed to typing. Gotta get over that shyness where here it's fairly simple. Hi everyone! Happy 4th of July!!! to all who celebrate it here in the U.S. (Man, what a hot day it is today here in So. California!)

I've got myself another song that is sticking. MP, where are ya? haha. Maybe this has been posted before in here...this thread is soooo long now, it's hard to recall.

Anyway, just trying to think for a moment on how it would fit...we have talked about in here the possibility that the LITD girl (if she exists) maybe was in his life and around for awhile, then the time came when she left somehow, and he couldn't see or feel her anymore (or maybe he could see her if he put out the effort but she didn't know, and maybe even that came to an end, due to relocation or moving on with lives). :scratch:

And... some of us optimists in here have been thinking maybe she came back into view for him one happy day, that perhaps she got back into his life, and maybe not too long before he died. And we were kinda glad about the idea of that. We were enjoying his smilng face in pics and such. We were hoping he was real happy.

I've got myself another song that is sticking. MP, where are ya? haha. Maybe this has been posted before in here...this thread is soooo long now, it's hard to recall.

Anyway, just trying to think for a moment on how it would fit...we have talked about in here the possibility that the LITD girl (if she exists) maybe was in his life and around for awhile, then the time came when she left somehow, and he couldn't see or feel her anymore (or maybe he could see her if he put out the effort but she didn't know, and maybe even that came to an end, due to relocation or moving on with lives). :scratch:

And... some of us optimists in here have been thinking maybe she came back into view for him one happy day, that perhaps she got back into his life, and maybe not too long before he died. And we were kinda glad about the idea of that. We were enjoying his smilng face in pics and such. We were hoping he was real happy.

So this song, hmm, could be from his perspective after she high-tailed outta there...back whenever that was. lol. Here we go...

Hmmm ... actually, I can't see what you posted, but from the clues you gave, I'm assuming it is "Every Breath You Take." I always thought that song was interesting. I think it could apply more to his LITD following his every move rather than him following her because I think it would be easier to "stalk" a famous person than a not-so-famous person. I could see her saying this maybe after his marriages/relationships or whatever.

Yes, the song I posted is Every Breath You Take. I thought it was amusing that the one commenter took it as sounding like a stalker, but I didn't view it that way at all. I thought the lyrics and perspective of the male are romantic and caring, and most of all, that there is a sureness that she's the one.

These lyrics:

Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace

I look around but it's you I can't replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep calling baby, baby please...

Oh can't you see

The words that kept sticking with me and playing over in my mind are, "Can't you see, you belong to me." It's like he can't understand how he and she are somehow not together, when it is so clear to him, they belong; and that is a message MJ used a lot in his songs. Can't Stop Loving You comes to mind, "I just can't hold on, I feel we belong."

And this guy's heart is aching "with every step she takes" meaning every moment she is living her life not by his side. Sounds like the guy tries at times to ignore his strong feeling that they "belong" and moves on with his life, but the line, "I look around but it's you I can't replace" tells me that it has become not an option for him anymore. He's convinced it's got to be her. Kinda like that other song I posted, "If I can't have You, I don't want nobody, Baby."

So should the girl be weirded out that this guy has her so on his mind, and that he is "watching her" as she lives her life away from him? If she is sure he is not the one for her, than yes, I would guess she would be; but if she feels a deep connection with him, wouldn't she like the feeling that he sees her as belonging to him? Would the LITD girl have liked picking up on that feeling from MJ? And that is cares so much about her that he checks up on her when he can?

There is something innately in us all that makes us yearn to belong...to know we are not doing this thing called life completely on our own. That is what so much of the lyrics in Barry's and Michael's song is talking about (It's All In Your Name). We recently discussed this.

And this is what brings so much joy to those who go from not knowing God, to coming to the realization that there is a God, and He loves them and cares for them, and everything about them; and to learn that He always has, and always will. And now, these new believers in God not only belong to Him, but to the "family of God" as well...all believers. They belong to someOne and to all that are His. It's a wonderful feeling and a much yeaned for feeling.

But as humans, we also yearn for this sense of belonging to someone in the area of Love, romantic love...finding the "other half." And this is what we talk about so much in this thread. Does it sound from MJ's lyrics that he yearned for this...to find a woman who he belongs with and for her to belong to him? Would the LITD girl yearn for that back? Then why wouldn't she want him to care about how she is doing and check on her to see if she was all right, even though he couldn't be with her...for whatever reason that was, we in here have never really come up with the perfect theory, but a lot of us have thought something was keeping them apart (even if it is Ash's view, and some others I think, that MJ still hadn't met his perfect match/dream girl/soulmate even up to the day he died).

MP, the song you posted, on how it would take a miracle, maybe that is how MJ felt, if he was experiencing the kind of yearning and ache that Sting is singing about in Every Breath You Take. Perhaps the obstacles keeping them apart were looking unsurmountable to him, even though MJ was such a man of faith.

Sometimes even when we try to trust God for something that seems impossible we just get so discouraged when we, with our own minds, try to search out a way to have it work out, but come up zero. God likes to bring us to that place, because when the time of waiting is over and He moves swiftly on our behalf, and the season to receive that blessing has arrived... then we know we have just experiences a miracle in our lives...that our Loving God did that for us WITHOUT A DOUBT. And that's a beautiful thing. And no doubt our God worked also on our character and stretched us, and built up our faith and perseverence, along the way. In other words we are better for the wait.

It just doesn't feel like it when we are yearning or aching or confused on why something can't be when it seems like it is supposed to be.

Sting's frustration in that song, and perhaps MJ's frustration in many of his songs (quite a few we have discussed in here as it applies to him and his LITD girl, if she really does exist), both seem to indicate that men can feel this way about someone they love but sadly for some reason are not with.



This song is quite poetic. But the meaning behind these words here is so lovely:

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in the fields of gold

It would have applied so nicely if MJ and his LITD girl had been able to get together at the end of their lives and made up for all the years that they couldn't be together. Redeeming. A sweet, sweet promise. If this truly had been a promise of MJ's to her, and that message could have reached her before he died.. how that would have touched her heart I should think.

It seems MJ did at times state some promises to "her" (or whoever the love interest was in the song fictional or not) in some of his songs. Can you guys think of some lyrcs like that?
