Yes, I thought that was interesting too because we generally can't do something for the rest of someone else's life because we may not live as long, so I found it veddy intedesting that he said that and you're right, it is sweet.

The words that kept sticking with me and playing over in my mind are, "Can't you see, you belong to me." It's like he can't understand how he and she are somehow not together when it is so clear to him they belong, and that message MJ used a lot in his songs. Can't Stop Loving You comes to mind, "I just can't hold on, I feel we belong."
And this guy's heart is aching "with every step she takes" meaning every moment she is living her life not by his side. Sounds like the guy tries at times to ignore his string feeling that they "belong" and move on with his life but the line, "I look around but it's you I can't replace" tells me that has become not an option for him anymore. He's convinced it's got to be him and her. Kinda like that other song I posted, "If I can't have You, I don't want nobody, Baby."

So should the girl be weirded out that this uy has her so on his mind, and that he is "watching her" as she lives her life away from him? If she is sure he is not the one for her, than yes, I would guess she would be, but if she feels a connection with him, wouldn't she like the feeling that he sees her as belonging to him? Would the LITD girl have liked picking up on that feeling from MJ?

I always thought it was a bit "stalkerish" but that never bothered me because I didn't view it as harmful - if that makes any sense. I guess I understood it somehow. You are right, if you don't think the person is the "one" it is creepy, but if it's the person you are in love with ... kinda sexy. lol!

BUT.. I was just reading the lyrics and this thought popped into mind...

It sounds like he doesn't know this lady well otherwise why would he say "IF there's somebody else". Because if he knew her well he would know whether there was someone else or not.

So one of the theories in here is that he had this muse or a dream of someone or wish of someone. Maybe an imaginary woman? Someone he prayed for (I think it was said) and maybe this is about that.

Hmmm... too much out on a limb here? Imagine if that really was how it is for him. Wow. Yeah I know I've got a good imagination, but just imagine for a minute that is what all this was about. If he were doing all of this for her ("it's all for love L-O-V-E love"), to find her and have her notice him so they could finally be together and move on in their lives together as he knows they should be? But if she was looking for the man (her soul mate, and dream man) and not the celebrity, then maybe all the fancy plumage was just getting in the way and made it harder for her to see? ...but taking this thread into consideration, maybe they finally did find each other, and maybe (I know, so many maybes) if the hoaxers are correct and he is still alive (sorry people, I know this is a sensitive topic and I do apologise but I'm just going with a flow of thought here..) maybe he had no reason to continue the celebrity status if it was all for her anyways. I got a phone call in the middle of this so I kinda lost my groove (if there ever was one). The rap sounds like he's taking her through a whole lotta stuff but he knows she'll be fine. But she resists. Cause she's invincible. Sheeesh, what a woman. Just stop your stuff already and look at this man who's sweating blood and tears for you. lol

But really, I like this song because he's just so confident in it, even though he sounds frustrated by it... but actually, maybe it sounds like he's alright with that. Probably wouldn't have had it any other way. If things came too easy... not appreciated the same. If you have to fight for something, you cherish it.

To trick can mean several things....like playing tricks on someone, or it is a about sexual acts between two people (stemming from what different things a "john" pays a prostitute to do), but, taking into consideration the other lyrics in this verse, and the rap, there's a third meaning:

In other words, MJ feels it is unlkely that any other guy could set her up so nicely with fancy things and jewels, and other perks, like trips around the world, like he could. He knew he had the means to adorn her life in lots of ways, if that meant a lot to her, or if some other guy was succeeding in impressing her is such a way.

I just pulled peacock out of the air because it fit but after I wrote it I remembered the peacock in the early video that Michael wrote and directed (trying to remember what it is called but I will find it and post). So I googled "peacock michael jackson" to find the video and all kinds of things came up. I'll share. Some things I didn't know.

So there is a peacock in the end and a rainbow and all the people of every race, man, woman, and child all hold hands one at a time with each other. So it is quite significant I think. I LOVE THAT VIDEO. Saw it for the first time when I got my Vision box thing of MJs. Brilliant and captures what was important to him I think.

lol Shila nice :) When I was searching up this peacock thing, there was a page called "the Peacock and the bunny" which was about MJ and Diana Ross. So funny you should mention a bunny.

Hi to all in this little lovely love in the dark thread! *waves* Just wanted to let you know why I haven't been postin'. My husband is back home with us now and I am busy with helping him convalesce. Lots to do surrounding that. He will be starting physical therapy down here now three times a week, as well...we just need to get the paper work squared away.

So blessings to all. Sorry this thread is so sad for some. :( But we can't change reality; and only God can help us in it. :praying
