Wow, MP. I can see what you mean by the "little frightening." :bugeyed LOL. The lyrics in the song even include the line "you possess my soul."

Now this girl in the Phantom of the Opera, is what she is feeling actual LOVE? Or does someone have her in a "love stupor?" He has a spell on her, doesn't he? So strong that it feels like real love, but it is deception.

It's hard enough in this world to figure out what real love is, but if on our way in discovering it we are intercepted by someone who "wills" us to love them, in such a way, that's not pretty.

AllForMj and Moddie have often posted that they feel quite confident that MJ's love for the LITD girl was God driven, that the love is real, and of a spiritual origin. I'm sure we would all rather invision it as having been a pure love and not anything going on like in it like the Phantom of the Opera. Yikes!

I like the video, MP. It makes ya think. :) It makes you want to stay away from THAT kind of love, that's for sure.
 
Sorry my post upset you. I only wanted to stimulate some thought and was not saying that "if there is/was" a LITD girl that this was the situation. Nor do I think MP at all thinks this. :no:

Well, I hope this possible LITD girl would be stronger than to let this last post of mine upset her. One thing we have felt in here is that this girl was someone who has a close relationship with God. And through the years she would have been checking with God over and over again if what she was feeling was real.

I have been on MJJC now for enough time to have not let any fan's opinion scare or affect me. Wouldn't we want the LITD girl to not let others opinions get her down either? To not let anything the media has to say get her down? Someone who has placed more importance on God's opinion over man's?

What I really was addressing was the importance of getting out of God's way when possibly the "right one" has come our way. For one, to not try to "control" or make it happen, to not try to "will" someone to love you back or beg God to let the one you think you love to want you back. If you believe God is behind it then it is about letting go and allowing God to gently lead you and wait for Him to bring it into being in His timing. To trust and let Him do it without getting in His way.

My purpose was also to caution us all to always check and make sure that we are not being caught up in something that may feel is real, but is not. And that there are some out there that can draw you to them because of their alluring and charismatic personalities, but it is not based on an authentic attraction. I am speaking of experience in my past, I have been around several like this...and it causes a strong pull.

But this doesn't mean I am saying MJ is like this. The video just got me thinking about this type of controlling, obsessive love that the Phantom had for this girl.

EDIT: Oh, I also wanted to add that after watching the movie, I don't necessarily think The Phantom was trying to deceive Christine. I don't know if what he had for her was "real" love, but I think he genuinely believed it was real. He may have come to truly love her after following her all those years or perhaps he was infatuated with her. I just don't think he knew the proper way to deal with his feelings because he wasn't taught how to deal with them. I guess you could say the same about us fans and MJ. We feel we love him after following him and his career for so long. Is it real love? I don't think anyone was ever trying to deceive him. We all truly believe that we love him. And I believe we really do. Also, some fans may not know how to deal with their feelings either.

I just thought the whole thing was kinda interesting because we had just been talking about that song and well ... I kind of see MJ a little like the Phantom of the Opera (in a good way, of course). I mean, we no longer "see" him, but he is still putting out songs about love. Sorta like he's a "phantom" of music (or of the opera).
