I'd just wanted to say that I feel the entire song has a spiritual foundation and is spiritual through and through, eg., reference from the bible where he says, "I'm the light of the world" as Jesus said of his followers before the crowd, he told them, "ye are the light of the world ... ye are the salt of the earth", which also makes sense that he adds, "I feel grand" (eg., I feel God's power in my life) and then he shifts down more deeply personal about himself, saying in that low sincere (sweet) tone, that he senses the reassurance of spiritual love from this person in his inward feeling as he says it so many different ways in the next lines, "got this love, I can feel and I know, yes, for sure, it is real"
and then he tells again its not physical with references to his internal senses again when he says, "and it feels as though I've seen your face a thousand times",
the phrase, "as though", indicates its not literally seeing with his physical eyes, and that, regardless, it still seems like he has seen her over and over and over again.
I also feel the song in general he's sort of like, "trying to tell her something" or something - something like that - like for instance, (and speaking of spiritual) I wonder if he could be saying that he has come to sense a "higher calling" in his life, (as what queen_g had said she'd prayed for), and that in real life, as of late, falling in love was not in the picture, eg., "falling in love wasn't in my plan" and that he'd given up on "her" ever "answering" his "calls" to "her" (perhaps in the other songs? as we've discussed throughout the thread, including the most recent - none of which she "answered?"), - "I never thought that I would be your lover" (I hadn't a clue you'd still be waiting for me after I never heard hide nor hair from you) come on please dear (please know I do utterly respect you), "understand" (try and put this together, please 'get it' because I want you to know all this), "This is it" (this is it for me, I have no more time to waste), "I've been vealed " (click) which if heard correctly and this definition fits, could answer the question many here had of who's waiting for whom, meaning, he, evidently has waited for "her" if this is correct (it sounds like 'vealed' to me if its not 'healed' - hard to tell), and no queen_g, I'm not suggesting she's a lush LOL but did not show up for him perhaps - "I'm the light of the world" (meaning, I know now that its the reason/s I've been through all that I've been through - to illuminate the world), "this is real" (I have no doubt I have to heed this calling)

I can easily see how, when feeling weak or down or unable to cope alone, a friend can help pick you back up again. When we share our inner strength with others, we can help them to find their own. So most likely they each had times where they felt that despair, and if the other was there to help pick them back up and even carry them for a while, together they could make it to a better place. Maybe also sometimes we forget that we have God to help us, and if we have someone to remind us to look to God for help, then we'll be alright. Sometimes we are so deep in our despair that we can't even look around to find help. Maybe when they had those moments, they were there for each other to help even though help may not have been asked for. Did have one thing to comment on though.....What you've posted sounds like some pretty wild stuff was going on back during that time. But, from looking at how happy MJ was just days before his passing, one would not think that he was worried about anything such as what you've described. He was acting totally upbeat to the point of being animated during rehearsal. People don't usually act this happy when they are afraid of something. I think it is safe to say that MJ and his lady friend were doing just fine. His demeanor was saying they were fine as you will see in my next post.
This reminds me of a couple things - one is a line from the song queen_g mentioned earlier. How sometimes just two people being in the same space at the same time can have a strengthening effect on each. The lyrics I feel fit are,

EDIT: By the way, the reason I went from using the word "strong" to using "inner-strength" is because one might be viewed as "strong" in the world's eyes, but may not be strong from a Godly perspective. People's idea of one being strong can really differ. Often in this thread people have posted that MJ's woman has got to be a "strong woman," and I have more than once been tempted to post, please define "strong?" What makes a strong woman? Some find Oprah to be a strong woman, but I am not so sure I'm impressed with her kind of "strong."
I feel a strong woman is one who knows she is weak without the Lord's help; she doesn't rely on her own strength. Most people who are attracted to "strong" individuals, based on the world's definition, do not want to even hear the word "weak" in the same sentence. Inner-strength to me denotes one whose strength comes from the Lord. That to me is attractive.
and of course, I concur. Everyone has varying weaknesses and strengths to trade off eachother, its a given. Sometimes we trade, one's strength at a given time, for another's - a you're up when I'm down sort of thing. Trading experiences with one another, can change the others' life. We all experience so many different things so many different ways. As I said, I was just pickin'. Sometimes I'm a wording and phrasing fanatic :sigh: and sometimes not nearly careful enough.It was very nice of him - and speaking of reciprocating, it was also kind of him to consider them probably wanting to reciprocate some of that energy they were putting out. So I had a couple RT's pop into my head as I was driving listening to TII. First one was this is the first time when I listened to the song that I felt like I was hearing a "love letter" intended for someone that I was eavesdropping on. :scratch: Second, and I don't remember if it's been discussed yet or not :scratch:.....the line when he says:

When I hear this line and that word my first thought is passion and physical intimacy (I'm keepin it PG, you know what I mean :blush: lol), but then the song in it's entirety makes me think of it in more ways then just that. :ermm: Certainly there is the physical, but could that word also be something such as a courtly love or romantic love, or divine love? Does the word lover have to mean something physical? Or is there something much deeper and intense to it's meaning? This was the first time I have ever wonder that about that particular word.....:huh:
