What exactly is this thread suppose to be about?

Well i thought it was bout asking whether mike did find love in the dark...but has ended turning to a popcorn choc fest thread lately!

I dunno if it's just me, but sometimes it seems like I can see "faces" in that big glob of popcorn. Perhaps I'm a little paranoid.

*Raises hand* BTW, I have a question. Does anyone understand the meaning behind the song, Unbreakable? It was one of the songs on the list of love songs to interpret. Could it have been a mistake or something? No matter how many times I listen to it or read the lyrics, I can't see how it is a "love" song.

Hmmm... well remembered "Unbreakable" is one of my favorite songs of the album "Invincible" (I love that album!) and I love that one day she was singing live.

About your question I need to look carefully at the music lyrics. I think that there is a rivalry between the two, it seems that the two are in a game trying to show who is the best and it seems that she did something wrong and so the revolt him. Do I understood wrong? I'm almost there? lol! You left me confused now! lol!:wild:

Although the song "Unbreakable" is not a love song, it is significant. It shows a turning point in MJ's life. It is the song where MJ is saying he will not allow anyone to continue attacking his livelihood or his manhood. The song after it which is "Heartbreaker" shows MJ will no longer stand for getting his heart broken if it is avoidable. I'll provide a further breakdown a little later, but again, "Unbreakable" is significant. MJ is showing he is standing up. He's saying he is a real man and he doesn't like playing games.

MJ would not have been able to start his love life over and be happily in love without interference until he defeated his foes. When he told them they could try to stop him, but it won't do a thing, he meant exactly that. We saw him go head to head with them, didn't we? Who's the last one standing? It's MJ, isn't it? In this present day, we are seeing who is the one standing. His enemies all took a fall. He's about to step back on stage.

And notice that before he made his decision to step back on stage, he was back to putting out heartfelt love songs. He has fallen in love again. The beautiful thing about him being in love this time is the person he has fallen in love with did not leave while he was fighting.

Thanks! Now I'm more confused! lol! :D I have some difficulty in interpret lyrics of songs... your wonderful post! :clapping:

I agree about "Unbreakable". It isn't a love song. It's a statement of his, saying he isn't going to be walked over any longer.

Fighting with popcorn that is coated with chocolate?!! LOL Now you know that's gonna stick! It's gonna get stuck in hair and eeeeeeverything!!!

:tease:

Ya know, I was lookin for a pic of chocolate and vanilla coated caramel corn, but I couldn't find one....since we were talking about chocolate and vanilla in MJ's tour bus a little while ago...

But I realize everyone has always seen this song as fitting too well with this being MJ stating things about himself and how no one out there is going to get to him and bring him down.
This is exactly what "Unbreakable" is about.

^ Yep. "Unbreakable" is a song about empowerment, and self-actualization.

Here he is saying "You are not going to break me. You tried, you gave it your best shot at shooting me down - but I am here to stay baby!"

I think that's the real reason why I love this song...cause he is actually realizing that there are many that would have wanted to see him falter and fail, but he's in it for the long run!! And that is so healthy for him....really....it's inspiring...and that is the reason why I want him to start his new O2 odyssey by singing this first...just to drive the point home.

According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self_actualization

Self-actualization is a term that has been used in various psychology theories, often in slightly different ways (e.g., Goldstein, Maslow, Rogers). The term was originally introduced by the organismic theorist Kurt Goldstein for the motive to realise all of one's potentialities. In his view, it is the master motive—indeed, the only real motive a person has, all others being merely manifestations of it. However, the concept was brought to prominence in Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory as the final level of psychological development that can be achieved when all basic and mental needs are fulfilled and the "actualization" of the full personal potential takes place.

...

Self Actualization in Psychology

Self actualization resides at the top of Maslow's hierarchy of needs and is considered a part of the humanistic approach to personality. The humanistic approach is one of several methods used in psychology for studying, understanding, and evaluating personality. The humanistic approach was developed because other approaches, such as the psychodynamic approach made famous by Sigmund Freud, focused on unhealthy individuals that exhibited disturbed behavior.[3]
The humanistic approach focuses on healthy, motivated people and tries to determine how they define the self while maximizing their potential.[3]
Stemming from this branch of psychology is Maslow's hierarchy of needs. According to Maslow, people have lower order needs that in general must be fulfilled before high order needs can be satisfied. As a person moves up Maslow's hierarchy of needs, eventually they will reach the summit—self actualization.[3] Maslow's hierarchy of needs begins with the most basic necessities deemed "the physiological needs" in which the individual will seek out items like food and water, and must be able to perform basic functions such as breathing and sleeping.[7] Once these needs have been met, a person can move on to fulfilling the "the safety needs", where they will attempt to obtain a sense of security, physical comforts and shelter, employment, and property.[8] The next level is "the belongingness and love needs", where people will strive for social acceptance, affiliations, a sense of belongingness and being welcome, sexual intimacy, and perhaps a family.[9] Next are "the esteem needs", where the individual will desire a sense of competence, recognition of achievement by peers, and respect from others.[10] Some argue that once these needs are met, an individual is primed for self actualization. Others argue that there are two more phases an individual must progress through before self actualization can take place. These include "the cognitive needs", where a person will desire knowledge and an understanding of the world around them, and "the aesthetic needs" which include a need for "symmetry, order, and beauty".[3] Once all these needs have been satisfied, the final stage of Maslow's hierarchy—self actualization—can take place.[11]

So, in other words, MJ has reached the top, the pinnacle of Maslow's Heirarchy, if you read this song correctly...

Absolutely, Linda!! He should open his show with "Unbreakable!" Yep!

"Unbreakable" was the song that he wanted to release as the very first single off the "Invincible" album, but he didn't get a chance to do it. Now that he is about to kick off a series of concerts after kicking much butt, opening his show with "Unbreakable" would be the perfect song. The fans would go nuts!!! They'll be like "YEAH!!!!!!!" simultaneously! There would be a roar of excitement!!

Could you imagine, the hysteria that would cause? This song is absolutely awesome. I don't think anyone quite realizes what the impact of that song has been. Really.

What if he's not in love right now and still searching for her? Do you think the happiness we've seen in him these past several months can just be that he's in a good place in his life and has nothing to do with having found his true love?

I tend to believe that one too Lily. The real tragedy in not releasing "Unbreakable" first is the fact that he was silenced. He wanted to shout to the world that they didn't get to him....but Sony decided to quiet him!! But you can't quiet that type of happiness...it shoots out of your eyes, permeates your very being...it takes over your whole soul with a golden glow so bright that each one of us can see very clearly the pure happiness he is feeling right now.

Oh yeah! lol That sweet aroma grabbed us the moment we started walking up the stairs. The way we ended up seeing his tour bus was sooooo funny!!! LOL

My sons and I had just left out of the building after being inside for a couple of hours checking out MJ's exhibit. We were heading to the parking structure where the car was, and just as we were about to go to the stairs that led there, a security guard stopped us by saying "Hey!! You can't leave yet! You have to see his tour bus! Come on! I'm going to show you where it is! You can't miss that!" Then, he immediately started leading us to it! This girl and her mother had just came out. When we got there I said, "Is it okay to go in?" He looked at me like, "Now why would you ask me that?" His facial expression was so cute! lol And then he said, "Of course you can!" After that he left.

Now, how in the world did he know we didn't already see it?! It's not like he was standing there when we first went inside the building...at least I don't remember seeing him on our way in. But the other funny thing is, he didn't do that to the other people that went down the stairs just before we got there. And then the other thing is, his back was turned when we walked up and then he quickly turned around and said that!!! LOL

We said, "Huh?!! Where is it?! How did we miss it?!" We were laughing because of the way that he stopped us! lol

I was also thinking "What's up? What's everybody up to?" The reason why I'm saying this is because when we first got the exhibit, we walked up to the table that was set up to the left of the gates for paying admission. When we paid the lady responsible for handling admission, she just greeted up like she greeted the people that paid before us. But when we came out, she was giving is the cute look that we had notice the security personnel were giving us while we were inside! It was really cute!

While we were inside, sometimes we were together and sometimes we would split up to look at different things. It was when we were together that I noticed someone had taken a picture of us. I was like, "What? Am I trippin' or did that guy over there just point a camera at us?" Then I started thinking about the cute look that the security personnel dressed in black suits kept giving us. They were spread out throughout the entire place. Some had on black suits and some of the security personnel wore black pants and white shirts. The ones in the black suits were often seen in pairs and what was funny about them is while we were walking up we would see them talking to each other and then when we got near them, they'd give us this cute little look. They were smiling with their eyes. lol So, I was like, "hmmm what's up?"

I had asked my youngest son if he noticed it and he said yeah. But, we just kinda went along with what we were doing. It was fun looking around, taking pictures, checking out the things that MJ likes, looking at things that he's won and just taking in what makes him, him. Mike is huge! lol

So, we're done hanging out at the exhibit, we're heading to the parking structure, we're noticing that the admission lady is now giving us the same cute look that the security personnel inside were giving us and next thing you know, bam!!! That one security guard by the stairs that had his back turned, turns around and stops us with "Hey!! You can't leave yet!! You have to see his tour bus!!" LOL

It felt like someone had told him, "Okay. Here they come. Stop them when they get to you and send them back."

That's how we ended up on the tour bus that smells like chocolate and vanilla!! It's really nice inside. He has cream colored seats and dark blue carpet. I sat down for a moment in the back at one of his tables. My oldest son was standing up while checking it out and my youngest son went as far as checking out the bathroom and things. lol

It was a lot of fun and the way our visit ended was really funny!

Lily (love your name by the way is very pretty)...the flower for my birth sign is Lily of the Valley...

In my opinion, I think Mr.Jackson's happiness has alot to do with being in

He's definitely in a good place in his life...definitely. But, if we look at the way that he wrote a love song during the trial that has the words, "Your true love showed me the way...the way I had to go" and if we look at the way that he worked on songs like "Beautiful Girl" and "The Way You Love Me," and if we look at what he was saying in "One More Chance" before going through the trial, as well as what he said in "Hold My Hand," he is in love again. If we can hear him when he's saying things like leave me alone and we can hear him when he's saying things like I'm unbreakable, then we should also be able to hear him when he says the words, "I'm in love."

Also, when MJ was going through that trial, he wasn't just fighting for his freedom. He was fighting for everything. He had to take back his life on all levels. He was fighting for his freedom, his name, his respect, his reputation, his livelihood, his manhood, his family, his children, his friends, his fans and his love life. When someone is trying to say he's not heterosexual when he clearly is, that forces him into a position where he has to fight for his love life. If he is a man that loves women and there is this big lie out that is saying he is not heterosexual, it will interfere with his love life. He clearly loves women. Therefore, he had to work very hard to squash that lie. He wanted it gone.

One of the things that gave him the strength to push forward was having the love of a woman in his life at the time. He needed that companionship. If he was singing about being in love before the trial, during and afterwards, it means she was there before he started fighting, while he was fighting and after he finished.

And that is exactly what Sony did to him in 1993. They silenced him. He could have fought the Chandlers in court back in 1993 to prove his innocence, but Sony was looking out for Sony's money instead of letting MJ look out for MJ's life. What happened because of that? MJ suffered. He went through public ridicule and scorn for many years.

But, he got a chance to fight this time and Sony couldn't do a thing about it. MJ turned adversity into a window of opportunity by heading straight toward what was causing him problems and then he threw down!! He took out anyone that jumped into the fight. Like Eminem for example. He tried to take a swipe at MJ while he was fighting and what happened to him? MJ got mad and knocked his brand new album off the charts for pulling that stunt. Then he took ownership of his music. Mike was not playing. He was tired of the lies and silly games. In "Unbreakable" when he said, "Through all your lies and silly games, I will still remain the same" that is what he meant. And this time, Sony could not stop him from standing up for himself.

Yep!! Here it is:

"Unbreakable"

Now I'm just wondering why you think
that you can get to me with anything
seems like you'd know by now
When and how I get down
And with all that I've been through,
I'm still around
(Yep, so just read it and Weep, Chandler!)

Don't you ever make no mistake
Baby I've got what it takes
And there's no way you'll ever get to me
Why can't you see that you'll never ever hurt me
'cause I wont let it be, see I'm too much for you baby
(Yep, that's right. I am Da Man. Bow down and show me some real respect Dammit!)

[CHORUS]
You can't believe it, you can't conceive it
and you can't touch me, 'cause I'm untouchable
and I know you hate it, and you can't take it
You'll never break me, 'cause I'm unbreakable
(I am EMPOWERED, so watch out!)

Now you can't stop me even thought you think
that if you block me, you've done your thing
and when you bury me underneath all your pain
Im steady laughin', while surfacing
(Yep, I am laughin...all the way to the bank baby!!)

Don't you ever make no mistake
baby I've got what it takes
and there's no way you'll ever get to me
Why can't you see that you'll never ever hurt me
'cause I wont let it be, see I'm too much for you baby
(Yep. And when you got it, FLAUNT it!)
[CHORUS 2x]

You can try to stop me, but it wont do a thing
no matter what you do, I'm still gonna be here
Through all your lies and silly games
I'm a still remain the same,I'm unbreakable
(Please graduate from High School, will ya? Just go away. In fact, why don't you make like a tree and leave??)

[RAP]

[CHORUS 3x]

Yep!!

See, Mike doesn't go around bothering people. He usually minds his own business. But, when he's being dogged and he didn't deserve it, look out!! Especially, if he's fed up with the nonsense.

Some were thinking that just because he's a kind-hearted person that speaks softly that he was some sort of a push over, but he's not. Kindness is not a sign of weakness. A person with a strong spiritual foundation and God in their life is capable of doing big things.

lol... it was really my pleasure (had a few bites of the popcorn while I was in there rescuing you;) )

I think everyone else was worried you'd pull them into it with you ..lol.

(on another topic, and it's no one's problem but mine but.. I have been feeling guilty lately for paying so much attention to a private topic of MJ's. Maybe that's why I started the fairytale. I still like reading the stuff in here ..when it isn't the drama that pops up from time to time. I guess I wonder if he'd be fine with it or bothered that we talk about it like some have said.)
