Alright then.. and also remember that any of you can add to the story if you wish. If you don't, then I will try to keep going with it. I had some fun, but am not done. I'll post it anyways.
Part trois:
After dinner King Michael, unable to release her from his mind, went for a stroll to ease his busy brain. He dressed up in one of his servants clothing as a mild disguise. This time his mind was on exactly where he was headed. Part of him wished for her to still be at the stream, though he knew it was unlikely. On his way there, something caught his attention long before he'd reach his private place. Downstream from the spot, he noticed a little girl playing with one of the little leaf boats build by his maiden, in a pool of water that had collected aside the stream.
He watched the little girl for a moment in her innocence. She played rapt inside her imagination much like the one who'd created the boat. The king found himself getting lost in his own dreamland while his feet sought out the destination of his destiny. When he'd arrived, he found he was alone. The ground was still warm from where her body lay. The moss, still compressed with her imprint. He bent down to touch the outline of the one who'd captivated him in such a small but beautiful moment. It had been years since he'd felt this way about another. He couldn't allow himself to get carried away and fall too quickly. Maybe it was a blessing that she had left before he arrived.
The king sat himself down in the spot she had occupied not long before. He touched the grass that grew along the waters edge, ran his hand along the grass, then the moss, till it reached a twig. He picked it up and looked around for a leaf. Just as he went to grab the perfect one, a foot stepped down upon it breaking his focus. He followed the foot upward towards what he thought was the face of an angel. Her hair, surrounded by a halo of light from behind. She was magnificent and even more beautiful and ethereal than she'd appeared before.
“You are in my spot,” she whispered.
“I'm sorry, I... it..it looked quite comfortable.” He blushed, feeling foolish for having been caught playing.
“It is isn't it?” She teased with a wink of her eye.”What were you doing?”
He looked down at his hands which held a twig in one and a patch of moss in the other. “Well I was...uh”
“You were?”
“I was just ..” he looked up at her “..gathering some fuel for the fire.” He finished resolutely.
“I see. That won't build much of a fire. I can show you where there's some better, dryer moss and twigs that would suit you well, if you'll give me back that twig that you've got there. You see, I'd set it aside for something special before you got here.”
“Had you? Well I apologize.” he said as he passed the lady the twig and stood up “It's all yours..” he said as she grabbed it, and he held on “..IF you show me what you're doing with it.”
They stared for a moment, each studying the other before she finally broke the silence.
“Alright” she smiled “, I'll show you what I make with it, if you promise to think of me each time you make one of your own.”
“it's a deal” the king said as he let go of the twig.
She immediately sat back down in her spot. He sat down beside her, and she went to work on the an elaborate ship, much bigger and intricate than the boats he'd seen her make earlier. He was amazed at her workmanship over something that would only last a short voyage before it would collapse at it's first rapid.
(I'm not really done but my kids came home from school and I have lots I have to do)
