Did MJ Find Love In The Dark (continued)

:D ah! I see you finally got around to re-typing it (congrads for the energy to do that!) just when I have to go. (aww) I'll check it out later and comments that it will create. My posting days are gone for the week unless I get some time near the weekend. Thanks again for posting it. :flowers:

You aren't really missing anything. Don't worry. I was way too distracted to try to do justice to this. Maybe I will try another time. Maybe tonight or something. It's not retyping. I scrapped that old one because I honesty can't remember what I wrote.

Really there was nothing too earth shattering on page 207. I can send it to anyone who is really curious, since I can still see it. (how odd hey) So I wrote some but I maybe should try again when I actually have time to give time and attention to it because this time around it is not as nice a post as the other one I had written and I feel grumpy that I have to write it again so I'm kinda not doing as good a job.

It seems there is a common thread running throughout from the start. Not to say a common thread in each of the songs, other than Michael is singing them, but one that seems to be there from the start, and evolves through to the last ones.... shoot I hate rewriting something from scratch that I've already done. It never feels as good as the first thing written because I'm trying to resay what's already been said, even if nobody got to hear it. Alright, so now that I got my complaining out of the way, I can try this again.

I'll try it differently. Little snippets of the songs to help explain the story I see emerge from all this. I am, by no means, saying this is what happened or what he meant by anything, just a possible story that I could see inside the lyrics, and there are a number more that could be possible. In fact, I probably chose the one the most outrageous and fairytale like and far from reality, more fantasy-like.(on a side note, this is really an excellent way of coming up with a story to write, by looking at lyrics and creating a possible backstory to it)

ok to start:

Looking in my mirror
Took me by surprise
I can't help but see you
Running often through my mind
Helpless like a baby
Sensual disguise
I can't help but love you
It is getting better all the time

He sees her in his mind. He's surprised by looking in a mirror. Does this mean she is like his other half. Helpless like a baby? Her innocence maybe?

Alright maybe this isn't going to work because it's too hard to explain how I see something and I forget how I saw it last night when it all came so easily and so clear. So I will write a different idea I guess, maybe. It seems Michael falls for women easily perhaps, or falls under some of their charms. But it seems to me like he has this ideal of a perfect love. Someone who is out there for him somewhere. Like a match made in heaven. Destiny...etc etc. So to me, reading this, it seems like he believes in this woman, who's his dream. The ideal for him. But sometimes he loses sight of her, or maybe loses faith in her being out there, or gets fooled into thinking someone could be her, but then it turns out she isn't. (probably common to happen to many people). If he is searching the world over for this “true love” then he may see the possibility of her in many women. Each time thinking maybe he's found her, but then realizing that it wasn't her later on.

Working day and night, it sounds like he just wants to love someone and give his love to one who loves him back but time and again he gets played by women. It seems like it's a relationship there with someone who ultimately lets him down. She doesn't sound very good actually, pushing him to work all the time and then rarely there for him. Works him till he's too tired to be with her. Then two years later, she's out of his life. So he was a workaholic not giving enough time to her so he feels like he took her for granted, taking the blame, when maybe she was the one who pushed him away by getting him to work all the time, IF this is the same woman. Then again, what he says in she's out of my life seems like he had feelings for her that he failed to express. So she was there, hoping for more than a friendship, and he never made up his mind to have it be more, so she left.

Now Human Nature, seems to be him dreaming again. He's dreaming of the woman (daydream or whatever) he hears her voice. Four walls won't hold him tonight, so that could mean that he wants to get out and explore New York, or if in the night while he's sleeping, the walls won't hold him back from dreaming either. Reaching out to touch a stranger, electric eyes are everywhere (that part actually always reminds me of the internet where our eyes become electric eyes seeing everything..but I digress... or do I;) lol) So then looking out across the morning... reaching out he touches her shoulder, he's dreaming of the street. So it sounds like he is dreaming of reaching out to touch her, in the morning. He likes loving this way? Likes loving in a dream?

Pretty young thing just sounds like hormones...lol. Though....”desire to be with you, gotta get to you baby, won't you come it's emergency, cool my fire yearnin come set me free” makes me wonder... if it's just a girl that he notices and thinks is sexy and he wants her, why does he need her to come to him? Why does he beg her to come set him free? Set him free from what? From the dream? So maybe it isn't as simple as that if she were right there in front of him he could go get her, not wait for her to come to him and set him free...

Lady in my life sounds like he is willing to give up this fantasy/dream of his dream woman just so he can be with this lady, as long as he knows she'll be there. Hmmm maybe I was wrong. “Reach out to a fantasy, two hearts in the beat of ecstasy. Come to me” maybe it still is the dream but he wants her to come to him and be with him rather than just a dream.

If there is some woman in his dreams, or daydreams or fantasy, it feels like there is somehow some connection, like when queen g mentioned it being a spiritual connection. Perhaps he has some spiritual connection with someone, but without it also being in the flesh, how can one be certain it is real? Which is probably where the other women come in.

Love never felt so good could go along with that too, but could also be about someone real, not a dream girl (not to say that a dream girl isn't real but ... in many peoples eyes they would call it just a fantasy) If the dream girl, in his dreams it feels so real and better than the love he'd felt before. He wants her in his life more.

Now someone in the dark... :)
He is all alone. Wishing on stars. He's so sweet isn't he? But alone, wishing on stars, waiting for you (who?) to find him. A stranger who'd be his friend. A “someone in the dark”. HIS “someone in the dark” which seems like it could translate into this ideal woman from his dreams. It's like he can feel her out there somewhere. He feels her presence maybe like an angel. Angels tell people never to be afraid. They reach out to you.

“Hand in hand where dreams never end, my star-secret friend and me” where dreams never end? Well... I guess that would be living the dream. The star-secret friend.. the one he has wished on the stars for.
Making the dream a reality by finding the one he believes is out there for him. He believes he could never really let her go and give up on her?

Streetwalking baby? Sounds like someone who's caught his eye who he wants to have as his girlfriend.
The way you make me feel, again he is back to working from 9-5 to buy her things to keep her by his side? Doesn't sound like love this time. Sounds like lust. But it sounds like someone made him happy and brought him out of his loneliness, which is nice. Also sounds like everyone is picking apart their relationship or he wouldn't be saying “ain't nobodies business but mine and my baby”.

Fly away sounds like the dream again. If she is in his dreams, then flying is something very possible literally. No place is to far for us cause you can go anywhere in a dream, in any way. But also doesn't want her to make him go away. He wants to stay with her. They both want to hold on to this dream and be together, whether in a dream or not.

Liberian girl sounds like he found someone in person who changed his life. Someone who really does return his love and who has given him this love experience not in a dream, but in real life. Something tangible.

His lonely life wasn't lonely anymore. It sounds like he wants to marry her. She's given him what he's always longed for. A true and real love that isn't selfish and isn't based on superficial. It seems real.

I just can't stop loving you...
Now this sounds again like the dream girl “whispers at morning” “each time the wind blows I hear your voice...” “heavens glad you came” sounds like it is that love that is meant to be that even the heavens rejoice in. But now instead of it seeming like a one sided thing, we get to hear her side as well.
So either this new lady, the Liberian girl is his dream girl that he did find, or he feels she is her, or maybe this new song isn't about the Liberian girl anymore.

But he is still thinking about the dream girl. If they can't be together, they feel their life isn't worth living. But in this song we see it's about more than just a dream because it shows they have a history “we can sing songs of yesterday” and they also have a purpose together “we can change all the world tomorrow”.
He doesn't want to stop loving the woman of his dreams, or this fantasy woman who he has somehow some connection with that does seem to this point to be spiritual somehow. (goes along with what Imjustmenothim, and queen g said as well. That idea.

In the Closet...
sounds like seduction. Maybe on both their parts. Something about her that he just doesn't want to say no to...but he doesn't want others to know about it either it seems. Not sure if they have something going on or if he is just toying with the idea.

She drives me wild .... another one like In the closet. Someone who just turns him on.

Who is it...
hmmm well can't be a dream this time can it? Not if he gave her money, time, everything. Maybe it could be someone he thought was the woman for him. Maybe the Liberian girl. But she left him and he doesn't understand it. He thought she would be there forever. They promised it would be forever.
But what if it is the dream girl? The real one. Not any others.. What if she was unreachable now? Moved on or made herself unavailable. If he actually felt a connection with her, and she somehow broke that connection, then it could still be about that dream girl. If not though, about maybe the Liberian girl, then when she left him she broke his heart and left no explanation as to why she left him. Maybe she wasn't the one for him and didn't know how to tell him? (assuming there IS someone for him). It seems to me this lady is someone he moved on from his fantasy for. Someone he gave it up for because she was there for real and loved him for real. So he trusted her. He believed that this could be his true love and they'd be together in love forever. But she shattered that dream of his with her when she left with no explanation and tries to guess why she left or who she left him for.

Can't let her get away...
I think maybe about the dream again. Maybe he thinks back to her again. He just wants the dream to come true. But she left him? Maybe because he left her in his “masterminding” trying to make or force it to happen. Every time he let her go or tried to be with another, it didnt work out and just brought hurt. I don't know.. On to the next one..lol.

Give in to me...
“I've spent a lifetime looking for someone”
“love is a feeling” “love is a woman” but this song isn't about love, it's about lust. But it sounds like he is sort of explaining what he won't truly explain. “don't try to understand me just simply do the things I say” this woman isn't who he loves I think. But it seems there is a physical relationship maybe without love. It seems in this song like he is hurt, and doesn't really want to explain himself to this woman. He sounds bitter actually.

Dangerous...
A girl who is everything that draws him in and everything that is bad for him. Seductress. Telling and showing him everything he wants to to lure him in. Hmm.. maybe the one he thought was his dream girl, who he gave up the dream for, and then the dream left him. So she is dangerous. That's why when she came around, the dream had left. (yes it is far fetched but nevermind, you have your own computers to write out your own stories on...lol. Let me write mine :p )

Remember the Time...
Remembering back to the love in his life. Not the dream girl. They were so young and innocent when they had fallen in love. Why did it end? Well it could be Liberian girl or someone like that. Yes I think this one is not about a dream. It's someone for real who he loved. Maybe the girl from “Who is it”. Why did it end? He looks back this time not with anger or hurt, but with fondness. Reminiscing about the past and the love that he had experienced in his life for real.

If you don't love me...
Sounds like he is thinking back to the girl who left him. Changed her number so he couldn't call her. He's telling her he loves her and wants her to love him the way that he loves her.

Someone Put Your Hand Out...
This says lots that works with the fantasy theory. He never tries to talk about it, just thinks about it. He hurts inside and tries to pretend that it's fine and he's alright but he really truly longs for that divine from the heavens love and he has searched the world hoping to find her. This song he is begging her to come to him. He's putting his hand out so that maybe she will reach out and grab hold of it. He promises to be what she needs but he just needs her to save him from his loneliness and the wrong path that he feels he is going down.

You Are Not Alone...
He still is not with the woman he has searched the world over for. The divine love/dream girl/ fantasy. He has felt her presence and feels she is real. But she left him and he feels cold. He never found her.. but yet when he starts to question it and why he's alone, he suddenly feels her again though she is not with him. She's there with him, though they aren't together. She will not leave him. He feels he can hear her wanting to have him hold her. She prays and he can hear her and he wants to be there for her but he can't do it with their distance, He needs her hand and then their forever can begin. Every time he feels that love has gone, she somehow reaches him to say she hasn't gone.

Fall Again...
I think this could be about both the dream and someone in person. “Everything I'm looking for I seem to find” meaning the things he is looking for in a woman, in his perfect woman, he is finding in this woman. He wants to fall in love with her again like they did in the start. “Baby nothing means anything unless you’re here to share with me
I can breathe, I can bleed, I can die in my sleep
Cause you’re always there in my dreams “ maybe this is the dream woman then if she is always there in his dreams, unless this other one took the place of the dream girl or if she the dream girl.

Unbreakable...
Maybe he is just telling the woman from the past (maybe Liberian Girl) that nothing she does is going to make him leave her. He's there through it all no matter what she does.

(I'm distracted so.. less and less thought going into this now)
Invincible...
Maybe about the dream girl or the one he loved who went away. Maybe it is about the one who went away who he believes IS the girl in his dreams, but maybe she isn't feeling him because she ISN'T the same as the girl in his dreams who he feels on the wind and hears her calling him etc.
I think he is trying to desperately to get this woman back in his life so that they can start their love relationship and no matter what he does, she just won't give in to him. She's off with someone else (maybe) but he says that no one can love her like he could. No one could do it like he can.

Break of dawn...
Reminiscing. Dreaming.. wishing it could be again. Like he is trying to seduce her back.

Heaven can wait...
Doesn't want to leave his love.. whomever that might be.

Rock my world...
Found a love who changed his life (which had happened before but this time he says) finally found a perfect love this time.. as in, the other times weren't perfect. He wants his dreams fulfilled. The perfect love he had searched for all his life, he thinks he finally found her. The dream girl.

He waited so long and tried to stay sane waiting for that perfect love to come into his life. He knew love would bring him happiness. So now he thinks he has finally found the love he had searched the world over for. The perfect one to last forever.

Butterflies...
All I gotta say is that I must be dreaming, can't be real
You're not here with me, still I can feel you near me
I caress you, let you taste us, just so blissful listen
I would give you anything baby, just make my dreams come true ''
He can feel her near to him, the perfect love. The one who will make all his dreams come true. But she is not with him. He thinks he must be dreaming and that it isn't real but yet he feels her and feels that she is real. If she would just take his hand, he'd love her forever.

Beautiful girl...
He's in love with a beautiful girl. ...

(ok I give up for now...too much happening in my house and I am really not paying attention to what I'm writing. I will try to write more later)

:clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping: Great post ape!

-It's the Falling In Love
-Rock With You
-Working Day and Night Written and composed by Michael Jackson and Louis Johnson.

-She's Out of My Life

startin with these

Okay only one he wrote there was workin day and night
it sounds like a man whos gettin ready for the future like theres some lady he knows is his and hes doin what a man how they say is supose to do by workin and he must really have the great love for her cause hes not just workin homees workin day and night.

one verse says their love was meant to be then he sings she must be seein some other man cause hes wonderin how she can live without him cause maybe he knows its so hard cause hes livin without her so he says you must be seein someother man but i doubt he meant he really thought that cause his tone never changes through the whole song

it could be there was someone there at the time this song written cause hes askin someone to scratch his sholder but then later he sayan "I'm tired of thinkin'
Of what my life's supposed to be (well)
Soon enough darlin'
This love will be reality

so maybe hes imagining someone there or like can feel that there is someone out there for him whatever t is it was in the planning stage

Human Nature
-PYT
-Lady In My Life
-Love Never Felt So Good Written and Composed By Paul Anka, Michael Jackson and Kathy Wakefield
-Someone in the Dark Written and composed by Michael Jackson

the lyrics on allmichaeljackson.com for love never felt so good aint exact somone posted the link when i was thinkin that aint right and so now i know they had it off

in that song he talk about love never felt so good i think he sayan and id die if it ever could which is almost as if it is like you are sayin a spiritual connection or maybe a long distance relationship like writing letters but then he talks about how she holds him which could be she really came and went in and out his life or again spiritual or it could be hes liking someone elses girl but then that wouldnt feel so good and he said somethin about it being mine all mine

he talks about flying so either he flew to go see her on a plane or helicopter or flying is in the spiritual like a dream or other state

the song could mean many things

Someone in the dark talks of him being alone and wishing for someone and a knowing and waiting for that person to find him its a real mushy song so thats all im saying if we look at his songs keeping in mind that he may be in tune spiritually where God does let him knwo stuff before it happens then maybe all of those songs might form a pattern

Re: Did MJ Find Love In The Dark (continued)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well im gonna be short with this cause i typed a nice long message but it didnt post so here goes

workin day and night and who is it these two songs talk about some other lover in workin day and night he doesnt sound sad or angry so i think hes just jokin in who is it he sounds devistated.

not to make it sound more real again but during the time of who is it and she drives wild me i think he was seeing brook if i had to guess who was bad for him id say her maybe he thought his mystery girl at some point really was seein someone and decided to also or maybe she saw him with brook and thought she was dillusional for thinkin he would really care for her and just went out with someone else id guess if thats the case if she heard who is it she felt pretty bad and maybe even stopped sein the poor guy its gotta hurt gettin dumped for a fantasy of michael jackson even if it is real who would know or believe it. maybe even before brook if such a girl is really out there she just told herself she was crazy for believing some dream

im thinkin the lyrics in who is it where michael says i pray this punishment would have mercy on me could mean that yeh he was seein someone she could feel it or saw a photo and she started to let go. whatever the case thats probly the most heart wrenching song ive ever heard

I really like all of your interpretations of Michael's songs.

Here is something kind of unique to think about. If you notice, all of the songs prior to "Someone in the Dark" were very adult and mature love songs where he seems to be stating his wishes for love, but the song "Someone in the Dark", that talks about finally having found that love, seems kind of "child-like." I know it came from a children's album, but perhaps it suggests that he realized his love was actually very young when he first began to sense that she really was out there somewhere. Maybe this is why he suddenly had to change his way of singing to or about her.

Anyway, that song reminds me of one of my favorite songs written just a few years later ...

Somewhere Out There

Written by James Horner, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil
Performed by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram
From the movie An American Tail 1987

Somewhere out there
Beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me
And loving me tonight

Somewhere out there
Someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another
In that big somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we'll be together
Somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

that was a strange movie but i gotcha

i see what youre sayin with someone in the dark but it doesnt make sense to me she could have been young if this thread is onto something and there is someone but i think that was just him being him and expressin what ihe had inside so thats where the childlike came from but who knows

i dont think he talkin about finally finding that love but what it will be like unless you mean just in a spiritual sense now im wonderin why i said just thats probly far beter than any other form

but anyway i think the songs before and after are pretty mature but i will say pyt could go with your theory ... if you go back to the song where he sings helpless like a baby since your old disguise maybe that could go with your idea too like she was helpless like a baby and she would come to him in his dreams or theyd meet in there dreams and shed be in disguise so then perhaps you would have a point a strange but possible point i guess

haha i just glanced through those songs again and your idea suddenly the opening of the way you make me feel written or released about five years after someone in the dark your childlike song is sayin hey pretty baby with the high heels on so maybe she grew up he mentions workin day and night in that song too
Hey pretty baby with the high heels on
You give me fever
Like I've never, ever known
You're just a product of loveliness
I like the groove of your walk,
Your talk, your dress
I feel your fever
From miles around

"
but seriously i dont think he had a clue of who he was looking and or waiting for Thriller was out about the same time as that song and lady in my life is smoking

i can say his songs sound like he is singing about someone he felt destined to meet

Dang I just watched the who is it video i thought maybe if this thread had any merit it was about the girl hes dreamt about cause its so intense but after watchin the video i think its about brook

you watch it you think prostitute using a nice word but look at the way they doin her makeup its about a model whos a prostitute or who is prostituted

the one guy with mj looks like he is supose to be a private investigator and he finds out shes just going all over the place playing games with all sorts of men using them for money

i think the woman who slaps her is playin brooks mom for either lettin him get away or for being with him who knows judt to be polite i wont mention her last name

brook actually took a ring from michael back in the day went to award shows with him and all that then went and told oprah there was nothing between them the day after he told oprah there was which should not have been a secret cause she was al over the place with him

after brook said that mess to oprah thats when the accusations came out guess people doubted him and not her the tramp shouldnt have taken his ring if she didnt have feelings for the man i hate women who use guys like that just plane sick but thats what she did i think just wanted her face in the spotlight and whatever gifts and cash she could grab

so back to i pray this punishment would have mercy on me lyric from who is it he was seeing brook i think and he knew he was wrong and being punished for not waiting on the one God had for him maybe he was feelin hot for brook and she just sweet talked him into leaving his dream girl or something if that fits with this thread and doesnt make me sound crazy

Really interesting for me to read because I never got that video, but now I do :)
Could it be that the woman is not really a prostitute, but that is how Michael feel like. She's selling herself and her body, but maybe not for sex?
It's really interesting (sorry for repeating myself) that you take this "story" to a different level and suspecting Brook to be the subject of the song. We're all so focussed on the breathtaking Lisa Marie so sometimes we forget about "all" the other gorgious women that Michael dated!.. :p

Anyway - being in this poetic thread: How do you guys/girls inhere like my newly written poem at the bottom of my signature? It's nothing major. Just a little message of sort.

well if he was thinking that and an investigator told him that looking at how she treated him then she probably was and if you ask me its the same thing even if she didnt have sex with those men she may as well have since she was just taking them for their money

you better ask the ladies in this thread about your poem i may get romantic but im skippin the super mushy stuff

now heres an idea maybe the video is about brook and the song is about brook and his dream girl in one part hes saying its injustice woe unto thee but then right after hes praying for mercy

so if like all them thoughts were runnin through his head from a guys perspective if you give up a good thing for a skank youd be thinkin all sporadic like that sayin it serves me right and girl you better watch out

youd be angry about one but hurtin over the other at the same time like a man who cheats on his wife right?

aah yes I see you're point. It's really good to get a perspective from a guy because we girls tend to go over the top with the romantics all the time hehe :p

So you're sugesting that he's can't find out what to do because in one way she makes him want to take her regardless of everything :)P) and in another way she makes him almost disgusted about her behavior and manners and the way she lives her life.

Wow, I loved what you wrote! I love "Someone in the Dark." No matter which song, love is always present in the music of Michael. Michel speaks much about the feelings in your music and love is always the main theme. And thanks for reminding of "Somewhere Out There" is a song very beautiful.

Somewhere Out There

Written by James Horner, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil
Performed by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram
From the movie An American Tail 1987

Somewhere out there
Beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me
And loving me tonight

Somewhere out there
Someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another
In that big somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we'll be together
Somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we'll be together
Somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true...

My goodness gracious Ladies & Gents...

Let's not take away (loose) the innocence of the pure heart (s) that has created the uniqueness of this Thread...

Once that is gone, we will never get that back..!

Oh, MP, this song is beautiful... Simply beautiful..

Michael might feel like that, like the love of his life was somewhere out there, wainting to be found. I certainly feel this way! Lol!

Well, I'm new here and I must confess I didn't read all the posts... But I think Michael didn't yet found THE love...

But he has found love in many ways... Family, friends, his children...

That song "Someone in the dark", seems to be more about friendship... Though the explanation MP gave is very interesting...

Mysterious Phoenix, that fits perfectly with the story of what I saw in the music. I love that song. American Tail was pretty popular when I was growing up. I know I'm not the only one who sang along to that song :) It's sweet.

Here is another one that was brought up in the original DMJFLITD thread (lol what a mouthful). I still haven't seen "The Music Man" but that is where this is from.

EDIT: (HOW do you embed these youtube things so that people don't have to click the link?ok I figured it out for now. But there must be an easier way so question still stands)
Another song about exactly that. Someone being out there for you, and acknowledging them through song or prayer though you don't know who they are.

So perhaps MJ just sings the songs of a dream of someone like these songs. I wonder if it is just because it is a beautiful love song and idea, and many people will relate to it, or if they are more than just words to him.

the lyrics (I still can't figure out embedding yet)

Goodnight My Someone

by Meredith Willson
From "The Music Man"
As sung by Shirley Jones, 1962 Warner Bros. Records Inc.

Goodnight, my someone, goodnight, my love.
Sleep tight, my someone, sleep tight, my love.
Our star is shining its brightest light,
For goodnight, my love, for goodnight.

Sweet dreams be yours, dear, if dreams there be
Sweet dreams to carry you close to me.
I wish they may and I wish they might.
Now goodnight, my someone, goodnight.

True love can be whispered from heart to heart,
When lovers are parted they say.
But I must depend on a wish and a star
As long as my heart doesn't know who you are.

Sweet dreams be yours, dear, if dreams there be
Sweet dreams to carry you close to me.
I wish they may and I wish they might.
Now goodnight, my someone, goodnight.

Goodnight! Goodnight!

Pure: free from anything of a different, inferior, or contaminating kind; free from extraneous matter: pure gold; pure water

untainted with evil; innocent: pure in heart.

To answer your second inquiry:

In general, as a whole...Holism, (from holos, a Greek word meaning all, entire, total) the idea that all the properties of a given system cannot be determined or explained by the sum of its component parts alone.

Ape, I think it depends on the song... Or maybe it's the both things...

But sometimes, we can see clearly that Michael really feels what he's singing about.

I remember him once saying that his songs were not about things he necessarily experienced but sometimes they had to do with his feelings and beliefs..
