Just for the record, I wrote ONE SENTENCE re Prince's vine post: "I am not liking his interest in violent video games." One sentence, and for that I got called "uneducated." WTF??? When another poster (Mechi) gave some links re harmful effects from these games, I posted a section from one of them that found these games lead to increased aggression and lack of empathy (study of over 3k players). I did that as a response to the 'uneducated" comment. So after these 2 posts, I get accused of "going on and on" and thinking that Prince is going to turn into a "homicidal maniac." WTF again???
I don't think I should get all this crap b/c of a single sentence or for quoting a study that shows harmful effects of these games.
For the record, I don't think that Prince will be a homicidal maniac!! Can't believe I even have to SAY that. I also don't think that MJ would approve. It's one thing for MJ as an adult to play games with violence in them or to act out a violent scene in a video, but with his kids, he was very protective. The BG's in interviews re their new book said that the kids' use of the internet was monitored.
I do not appreciate being attacked personally or having my opinion misrepresented. Some people say these games are not harmful b/c they have played them w/o bad effects--but I disagree with the general effect they have. Frankly, the people defending violent games have certainly been aggressive and non-empathetic to me!
And for the record, those studies have yet to prove anything, because they simply don't account for everyone, because 1,500 out of 3,000 or so people become aggressive after playing video games, that doesn't mean that it's the video games that are making those people aggressive. Which is why such studies remain subject for debates to this very day.
I don't think Prince playing video games is that big of a deal, he's having fun, it's what young men his age do. If you don't think that him playing those kinds of video games concludes to him becoming more aggressive, why state it?
On topic though, the Estate still hasn't fully grasped the concept of successfully promoting an album. After that "hologram" stunt, they should've just kept it going, use snippets and shots of the "VMJ" performance, since apparently it was so "hot" at the time, use it to promote the album and it's songs. With all the talk "VMJ" received, they certainly didn't capitalize on that as far as album promotion goes. It was more like a promotion of "VMJ" itself as opposed to the album. They should've tied the two in with each other at every chance they got, but they didn't. It's like while "VMJ" was getting heavily promoted, the album itself took the backseat. Since the "VMJ" buzz died down, so has the album, simply because they didn't promote the two equally.
