Indeed. Something needs to happen to spark interest in this cd. Second single with a video should have happened. Anything close to the end of the month will be considered suspect considering the anniversary aspect.

IMO, the promotion for this album has been INCREDIBLE. Everything has been top-notch. Btw, maybe the Estate and LA Reid have decided that they are not going to promote it anymore. I wouldn't blame them if they didn't. I would imagine that the naysayers, whiners and complainer would be glad. However, I sure hope that The Estate and LA Reid and others did NOT listen to these whiners. I hope that they listen to the MAJORITY of fans who absolutely LOVE the Xscape album and CONTINUE to promote it. I haven't taken this album out of my CD player since I purchased it.

I think it is not the official video. It will be something cheap low budget Cirque tribute video like Blue Gangsta one. I don't know why are they doing that. It would be better to include new songs into the show.

I hope for a new single soon. I'm sure I will get blasted by others for my opinions but I believe they are valid. The album is great so what's the problem? Only 700,000 copies sold over the first month 287,000 in the US? The music is great the problem is we are missing one huge element... Mj he is the star who drove the sales, that is the problem everyone wanted to see Mj, even the haters. I believe sony and the estate have done a good job with promo, is it over? Maybe. To me they made 2 mistakes the first single and the hologram. You can rework his song but you cant bring him back to life. That was the wrong thing to do and I certainly hope the don't try that again. As much as I love Xscape it losing major steam. Where are all the fans? Pretty soon the album will be just as dead as this forum. Release APWNN and Chicago now! Or it's over...

I can't see a single happening until after the World Cup. Because Sony sponsors the World Cup, and the Xperia advert is always on but it isn't the STTR one, and it doesn't mention Xscape.

I think APWNN could be a great song for a point of view short film. Make it like we see through Michael's eyes... There's no need to use a double and it won't look like a tribute. I don't think Hollywood Tonight kind of video will work this time. They need to think outside the box!

To whom? The album has dropped in numbers as far as the States go. And The States & UK, seems to be the major markets for any artist, where they're sales would actually be certified. And the album isn't doing great here, The UK has proven to be a lot more dedicated to Michael and this album. Sad, but true. And The Estate has the power to change that and make Michael even more of a force in the US, but since they haven't been promoting the album here, that can't happen.
The album sells less and less here every week. Opening week the album sold 157k, the following week that dropped to 67k, now its at 31k. And this all stems from the complete lack of promotion in regards to this album. And regardless what one may think, The "VMJ" stunt did not help this album.
LNFSG has dropped to #27 on the Billboard chart. STTR, which only reached it's position because it was being streamed by Billboard themselves, has fallen out of the hot 100 altogether. Xscape has dropped to #47 on the itunes charts in the UK, which then went up and is at #37 as of today. And dropped to #105 on iTunes, here, in the states. While it's holding up well in other countries like Spain, Taiwan, Japan, the Netherlands, and I think Russia. It's #32 in Switzerland, it's dropped to #74 in New Zealand and #140 in Australia.
Where's all this incredible promotion? And why hasn't it been benefiting the album? We're still waiting on news as to what the second single will be. And if they ultimately have decided to no longer promote this album, then they failed Michael as well as themselves. Why would they do that? They literally put in a good two weeks of Xscape promotion before it all stopped. You aren't selling an album in two weeks, it's dumbfounding for them to just say, "we aren't going to promote the album anymore". After releasing one true single and then dropping in the charts.
The Estate needs to do more, simple as that.

I think the album is doing great in all marktets. It is in in the Top 10 in all charts over the world since 4 weeks, in Australia in Top 5 since 4 weeks, in France/Spain in Top 3 since 4 weeks. Only USA is a with place 12 in the 4th week a exception, but it seems it will be back in Top Ten in USA the next week.
So the album is really doing well.

Where'd you get that information? The album is NOT selling great here. Xscape isn't in the Top 10 any longer for any of our charts, again, I ask where you're getting this from. As said, STTR dropped out of the hot 100 altogether, LNFSG continues to drop. Where are you gathering this information from?

Go in the chart-thread and you can get the informations. It`s Top Ten all over the world since 4 weeks. Exception USA this week 12 but prediction for next week is Top 10.
And STTR is not a single.

Depends on what you expected from an album that is a posthumus album. If you expected it to compete with the biggest current stars then you will inevitably end up disappointed. But being a posthumus album it is doing well. Look at some other albums by big name stars who are not current - eg. Mariah Carrey's latest album. It seems it will drop out of the Top 10 just after a week in the Top 10. Xscape is doing a lot better. Nothing really sells big these days, so sales numbers in themselves do not mean much.

I never said it was a single. I said it hit the billboard charts due to it being streamed by Billboard, and has since dropped out of the top ten. I'd rather just hear the chart by name so I can actually look it up on the actual site and see what position it's at.
US iTunes Album charts as of today, Xscape is @ #77...It's at #12 in Billboards top charts. Yet, chart music sites like, HITS, estimate that it's going to continue to drop. Xscape isn't in the top ten of anything anymore. As far as USA goes.

Isn't that for estimated sales, and not the position? If true then like I said, HITS estimates it'll continue to drop. This week the album sales are at 31k. HITS estimates that going into the weekend, the sales will continue to decrease. Isn't that what I just said?

Some of you are not reasonable with your expectations. The album is doing GREAT everywhere. It's holding up great in both US and UK and in a couple of weeks it will be in the top 10 of the best selling albums for the year!
LNFSG is still getting very good airplay, why the rush for a new single? I'm glad Sony are waiting on this one.

Some of you need to go look at how other artists are selling and promoting. Nobody's promoting as much as s some of you expect Sony/Estate to be doing. It's simply not realistic.

No. You were talking about chart positions: "Xscape isn't in the top ten of anything anymore. As far as USA goes."
Anyway, numbers usually continue to drop for most acts as time goes by. Coldplay's album which was released a week after MJ's are now almost at the level of Xscape's sales this week. They too continue to drop even though they are probably the most hyped act on those charts right now with great promotion and all.
I do not disagree with you that more can be done with Xscape and good singles could increase album sales and it's become a bit quiet in the past two-three weeks. But I think the second single will come soon. Just be patient.

Which it isn't. And that was solely one part of the post, I did say HITS estimates that the album will continue to drop, which they did. Sales affect the chart position.
I am patient, I've never voiced otherwise I don't think. I simply dispute the "promotion has been great" and "the album is doing great everywhere" posts. Because they aren't necessarily true. That's all.

This is what I mean, how can it go down as the top 10 best selling albums for the year when it's no longer in a US top 10 category of any kind? And estimates say that it will only continue to drop?
And then the last two sentences...Since when has expecting more than one single become unrealistic? Like, what? Too many of us, has become okay with selling ourselves and Michael short. It's unrealistic to have expected the Estate to use the hype of the "hologram" and all the roar that caused, to promote the album itself? I don't get it.
Why is it that all of a sudden, having a MJ-like standard for his albums, has become unrealistic and negative thinking? Like, really?

Well after 4 weeks of release it`s allready on place 14 of bestselling albums in 2014 worldwide.
NO one said expecting more then one single in unrealistic. And of course the next single will come. Album is out only one month.
